Yes they're finally here!!!!! No just kidding, we don't have any new stuff. But we could dang it, and we should!

Just strolled back from window shopping over at GW, some awesome new stuff there. How about a limited collectors edition of 2 books that are already in print? Does that sound awesome or what? More to the point is the sick looking kit for Tau right beside it. We get reprints, packaged with new stuff, so that we have to buy the old crap to get the new stuff! But if you're Tau, you're $350 gets you a bunch of suits, another Riptide and more drones than you can shake a stick at! Or the Eldar ghost army? How about MOAR SPESS MEHREENS!!!! Shut up Cultists, just pay the extra $3 for your spikey shoulder pads and be quiet!

Seriously, stop building awesome packages of everything else and put some bloody effort into Chaos! I mean, come on guys! We got one measly supplement that isn't worth the paper it's printed on, our Apocalypse formations are crap, we still don't have kits for Helbrutes, and Chosen, not to mention that most of our vehicle kits are just SM kits with a pack of spikes. I recently bought a single Chaos Biker and was surprised that for $22 all I got was 9 bits of plastic. No weapon options, not even a bolter for the rider!

Time for all True Sons of Chaos to band together and stride forth from the Eye of Terror and make WAR!!! In other words, open a new tab on the browser and send a polite email...

Gets along better with animals... Go figure.

The Eldar are a tier 1 army and still don't have plastic aspect warriors.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

I am being neglected. Where is my Craftworld Ulthwe supplement?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

You complain, but have a 6th edition book. And even ignoring all the 5th armies, CSM aren't even worse off of the 6th books. DA have it much worse, and so does pretty much every 5th book.

The rider doesn't need a bolter. The bike has them mounted on it.

Also, GW price for a single Chaos Bike is 15 USD.

CSM are well-stocked as far as models go, there were enough new ones with the codex release. At some point you do have to account for the fact that CSM genuinely are Space Marines with spikes.

Helbrutes and Chosen can be sourced easily from the starter set, and converted with relative ease. Every unit in the book actually has a model, which is more than some armies can say.

Personally, I count myself lucky that dealing with metal sonic weaponry is as hard as my modelling gets.

Too true. Those dark veng models are a bit static, true. But they are god damned amazing models. Some of the best GW has produced imo.
My friend plays nurgle. He keeps coming in with new stuff from the SM boxes he has nurglified with nothing but a little greenstuff. Just makes it 100% nurgle with really just some small details.

edit: said black reach, meant dark veng.

Yeah, no sympathy from a Sisters player. Besides, you can always convert loyalists marines if you don't like the chaos marine minis. Let the blasphemy and fun commence.

Also, check out my history blog: Minimum Wage Historian, a fun place to check out history that often falls between the couch cushions.

Dark veng+some bits=massive CSM army for cheap. just sayin.

While I understand some of the frustration surrounding lacklustre models like Obliterators and Mutilators given that you guys are bloody chaos (and therefore have conversion opportunities second only to Orks) I think you don't have much to complain given that you already have much of your base set. If you really want legion/cult specific stuff you can always go forgeworld for upgrade kits and as people have already said you can loot/convert loyalist stuff to represent either looted armour or recent converts. Lots of other factions are still down in the water in comparison like Chaos Daemons who still have their archaic butt ugly Bloodthirster model or Eldar who haven't had a proper elite/fast attack Aspect Warrior plastic kit yet (especially for models like Warp Spiders).

Yeah, the poor Eldar, the same models since 2nd edition...yikes.

Technically, the Eldar model line got an update after 2nd edition. Forgot what year, but the Failcast aspect warriors are not the same models from the early 90s.

It also helps that forgeworld has some decent support for CSM:

- dreads/hellbrutes for every legion
- plague marine conversion kit
- berserker conversion kit
- terminator conversion for the 2 mentioned
- some awesome daemon prince models
- you could also go nuts with all the new 30k releases and do awesome conversions

Other armies are worse off.

Got ton of new models . whine . Have helldrakes , whine about power level of their codex . All chaos players can do is whine .

TBH, much of the new codex is rather useless.
Sure, the drake is OP beynd belief, but people prefer many decent options over a few OP and others trash, yes you can take the OP-but you want to have options.

That's the one thing that bugs me in the new tau codex, some options (like riptide and missilesides) are amazing beyond belief, while others (railsides and stealths for example) just don't worth it. I'd much rather have weaker riptides/missilesides and better stealths/railsides then the current situation.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

I would say that some Chaos kits need updating like the tac squad and especially Abaddon and man that is a horrible model compared to the new stuff coming out, but they do not need anything new like some armies that are still using pewter models (Sisters I am looking at you)
