I just read a rumor that the IG is getting a new codex and models in February/March. February is month sooner then a thought so I am super excited about this. I would really like to see another plastic infantry option. Which IG army would you like to see in a multi-part plastic infantry kit?

Steel legion: because AWESOME (and i don't even play guard...
Would be a good way to release also - release Guard and Orks at or close to the same time, with new kits for steel legion and Orks.
Cue Armageddon-themed supplements etc...

I chose steel legion, I am currently about to start collecting DKoK but I prefer forgeworld resin personally.
It goes for me:
FW Resin > GW Plastic > GW Finecast > Metal
Steel legion are my favorite after DKoK and the are metal, so that defines my choice.

I'm biased as I am a Steel Legion player since 3rd edition, but I would really like to see plastic Steel Legion. Few things interest me in 40k, as much as the battle of Armageddon & the rivalry between Commissar Yarrick & Ghazghkull. Its just brilliant. Also, who doesn't like gas mask trench coat theme? One thing is for certain & that is no matter what happens please let the new kits be something other than Cadians/Catachan.

I kinda hope they do something like victoria miniatures has. A huge selection to mix and match or already made squads to choose from. But if they dont im not fussed. gives other retailers freedom to make awesome guard models.

I’m throwing my vote down for Mordian. Just like the dress uniform design as oppose to the over elaborate scheme of the Vostroyan. My second vote would be to bring back the Praetorian Guard.

Tanith mordian and praetorian have already been done very well by another company. It seems very wasteful for gw to do them in my opinion.

I am hoping that the new codex will be something similar to what the SM codex had. Regiment traits, like chapter tactics.
I'm a catachan player, however, I don't want to see those kits redone, not that I like the infantry squad (might be the worse troop kit) redone. I just want to see something other than Cadians and plastic Catachan (mine are all metal, with last chancers, tanith, necromunda).
I think a kit, that can maybe make two different regiments. First off, you can rule out DKoK, Elisian, or any ohter forge world armies. If possible, a kit that can either go Valhallan or Armagedon. Heads are different, bodies are similar enough.
I hope that GW at least keeps different heads/body/ arm options in the new vehicle kits for Cadian and Catachan players.

I put in my vote for the Vostroyans.
It would be great if they would make a new box or two to give some variety, but at the same time I don't see what the incentive would be to do it. The catachans never sold as well as the Cadians, and if they come out with something cooler than the Cadians, then people will just stop buying them. All that being said, I still hope they do it.

Praetorians, 'cos Victorian/Boer War/First World War Imperial Guard belongs all of your bases to them.
But saying that, I wouldn't mind any new regiment in plastic, apart from... (Whispers) Catachans, I really don't like those models. But I'm happy to be proved wrong by a good redesign. But I would prefer a 'new' regiment.

Either Valhallans or Catachans. I love, love, love my Valhallans, but plastics would definitely get me expanding the army to a third 30-man blob. New Catachan infantry squads would be sweet, since the old ones were showing their age in the early-mid 2000s. I still maintain that the Catachan command and heavy weapon squad kits are excellent though.

I chose tallarn since elysians and DKoK are already provided by FW. Steel legion are cool but similar enough to DKoK.
It bugs me that forgeworld has awesome tallarn minis, but their infantry squads are old GW metal kits.

If catachans were to be redone like the Catachan command squad box (ie more human than ork proportions) that would be cool.
Ideally, though, I'd love to see 2 new boxes: a Greatcoat box with heads for Steel Legion, DKOK and Valhallans, and a Dress Uniform box with heads for Praetorians and Mordians. They would both probably sell well while not treading on the toes of the existing boxes, and offer more variety for what are supposed to be the most diverse army in the galaxy (and yet at the moment all use cadian-pattern armour and weapons).
I can't really see this happening, though, as to tool the 3 boxes needed for a new range (infantry/vet, HWT, Command) they would have to put in resources that could go into updating far older models or releasing new ones, which would sell better. If anything, I expect we'll get a carapace Vet/Stormtrooper box (probably 5 men with more options, think Sternguard) and then a new tank or two. Probably a plastic Commissar as well.

I would like to see the Catachans get redone, but more than that Id prefer to see plastic Steel Legion. Id also like to see a kit to upgrade Cadians to carapace armor. Of course that would mean making it a viable option for the IG list first...

Voted for Valhallans just over Tanith. Paradigm's idea is a really good one, I think. What really needs to be done is for them to make a special weapon squad blister or box. I don't think there are that many people actually insane enough to buy enough company command squad boxes to fulfill the special weapon needs of a lot of IG armies, and aside from metal spess muhreen bitz from the website they'll just lose money to recasters, converters, and third-party model makers.
I'd also think it'd be cool to have a 'character box' full of different unique options for making your own models without resorting to greenstuff or myriad third-party purchases. Tons of people are going to be making diverse Inquisitors now, and the two models they have on the website aren't going to meet the needs of the players.

Steel Legion, but I'm biased.
Personally I wouldn't even buy any of the new plastic kits, I have 165 metal models sitting in a big case that I have to paint, but lots of people want plastic SL and the metal ones go for insane prices online. I would however, buy the inevitable new heroes and named models, etc which would be introduced in that release.

Wow, these poll results are REALLY surprising. REALLY surprising. I expected it to be Death Korps, Elysia, then Valhallans. (Valhallans get my vote, since that's what I play, and I'd like to have some of my Guardsmen actually LOOKING like the real Valhallan models.)

Much like the new Space Marine Codex I can see the Cadians being the focus of the new IG book with the following being examples of the supplements they MAY come out with, the ones with the * next to them are the only ones I honestly see getting a supplement book:
*-Steel Legion: Special Rules like every choice that can take a Chimera HAS to take a Chimera unless mounted in anothe vehicle, Special Rules for Heavy Weapons in Chimeras, special rules for assaulting out of a Chimera ect.
*-Catachan: Jungle fighter specialists, special ambush rule, universal stealth, S4 base (due to fulff of their homeworld) ect., more veterans in FOC
-Valhallan: Special rules with infantry platoons and artillery, to fit the "WWII Red Army" theme, mass infantry assaults and artillery barage rules, ect. Troops slot and Heavy support slot in FOC.
-Mordian: Highly Disciplined infantry, maybe a special rule of higher LD or even stubborn/fearless rule or something like it, Special Lasgun Volley rule. Higher number of veterans in the army ect.
-Vostroyan: Urban Combat specialists, rules for fighitng in ruins and in assault, higher number of veterans, ect.
-Praetorians: Lasgun Volley fire special rule, higher leadership, hatred orks ect.
Dont see the new IG focusing on the FW armies as they already have a very rich fluff and are some of the top FW armies outside the Horus Hersey.
