So, I'm thinking about running Centurions in my white scar army, Especially after seeing how much work they did for an ultra marine player (those tubbies got me tabled in my last game against him)
My plan Is to try out 3 Centurions w/ Grav cannons and amps, and to run an inquisitor with a plasma siphon, prescience, and that relic which can give them scout. So I could have them get an extra 6" before shooting. Do you think this is a good support choice?

Its a solid choice. I run three centurions in my white scars on foot with Gravcannons and missile launchers. You need to be careful with deployment but the missiles give you some extended range for early and late game. The 24" gravcannon bubble generally ensures people stay off an objective or two of your choice. I wouldn't spend the points on the Liber Heresius personnally and just run a bare bones ML1 Inquisitor. The gravcannons already reroll wounds because of the amplifiers so the best use is prescience.

Or try and get forewarning! I may try this build out in my next game, and others worried abou the short range.

Forewarning also helps. The 24" range is really not too much of a problem. If people are actively avoiding the centurions range bubble, it allows you to control the board by moving them towards whatever objective you want to secure or seize. You lose a potential turn or two of shooting over the course of the game from the grav cannons, but the missiles at least give you some options every turn.

I like to drop the tubbies out of Stormraven. Finally, something the Raven is good at other than being spammed.

Divination scout inquisitor? Use that to outflank em since you are missing a turn of shooting anyway.

The scouting is done after deployment, so can you outflank?

yes. It's and either or option.
Also, I prefer to run centurions in a land raider so they have a 12" scout move instead of 6".

I personally think you are making a huge mistake by assuming that just because a unit worked for one Chapter that it would work equally as well for another. Centurions benefit from being Ultramarines, they don't benefit at all from being White Scars, and furthermore will get themselves easily isolated in the mash-up of what makes a decent White Scars army. If you want to take them, I suggest allying them in from another Chapter like Imperial Fists that will benefit them more.

But with the addition of an IC who does benefit from being White Scars you can grant Scout or Infiltrate to Grav Centurions. That is huge, 1st turn threat becomes 36" reducing the time required to make combat by a full turn. Outflank on Hammer and Anvil is ridiculous.
Just because they don't benefit directly, doesn't mean the can't benefit from the CT.
Outlfanking Grav Cents and Grav Bikes nearly tabled my Farsigtht Enclave, it was the most brutal game I had encountered yet.

I disagree. While yes, normal centurions will benefit greatly from imperial fist chapter tactics, grav centurions will not. However, grav centurions benefit quite a bit from white scars, but only if you scout or outflank with them. If you scout, they need a land raider. It's a fire magnet, sure, but a free 12" move? With the short range on the cannons that's hard to pass up. If you're running lascannon or missile launcher centurions, the go with imperial fists but other than that do iron hands for FNP and iwnd on the Sergeant or white scars for the extra movement.

Scouting centurions in a land raider is not a "free" scout move. It costs you the price of the land raider, which is considerable and raises the cost of the unit too much IMO. Why not attach khan on moondraken or another mounted ic? You would have been taking them anyway do there's no increase in price.

Well, As I said the liber hereticus thing gives them at leas 6 extra inches to their movement, so that could work? plus I would be spending at least 70 points as opposed to 250pts.

I've seen a Decked out Eternal Shield White Scars Chapter Master on a Bike Scout/Outflank Grav Centurions to great effect. Then break off and pummel units as needed.
Advanced the Grav Centurions 6" or Outflanks them.
Tanks for a Critical Turn.
Its a pretty effective combo.

Damn. That is a fantastic point. I'm rather upset I didn't think about that when I last faced it. Granted, it wouldn't have mattered as it was too potent of a Strike from Outflank, but I never though about Focus Firing out the Chapter Master's Jink.
Thanks.
