So anyone get one?

Mine is apparently sitting in my house right now, which is a good thing, as I am at work for another two hours ish, thus by the time I get back it should have returned to room temp after being in a cold delivery van.

I'd say I'm looking forward to it today, but the reality is I'll be staring at a loading screen till tomorrow, a 2gig patch is a nightmare with my connection, thank goodness its over LIVE, as that has always been a slightly quicker experience.

i hate the word 'xbone'. I don't get why people would call a console they don't dislike a boner. Isn't that an insult? Or at least rude.

The plural of codex is codexes.

It was coined by some Sony fan boys but it appears to have backfired as many folks around seem to have started using it as a short way of typing the console, in an amusing if a little puerile way.

Its not really that much of an insult or rude that anyone should be that bothered about it, heck I put it in the title and I have one.

Its also hilarious Don't blame fanbois, it's Microsofts fault for giving it an easily mockible name (same thing happened to Wii, but at least with that one you can see where Nintendo is going).

It's even better when you realize some group of marketing asshats was hoping people would call the xbone 'The One'.

My friend pre-ordered one a few months ago and was told he wouldn't be getting one on release day due to low stock levels lol.

THe puns are endless;

Enjoying your newest game? You have an XBoner.

Just got beat badly in multiplay? You have been XBoned.

In a battle with 100's of other people? Scream 'There can only be XONE!"

The juvenille pun possibilites are pretty plentiful.

Aye, my thoughts exactly. If you can't have a bit of a laugh at yourself, whats the point.

Oh and apologies noobbomb, I'll adjust the title.

Just got home.

Sadly an hour of sorting the TV area awaits before I can even plug it in.

My wife and I will probably get one at a later date (and if we're honest we remember how reliable the launch 360s were) but for now we're content to stay with the 360 and pick up some games for cheap when the prices inevitably drop

So jealous of you, moderator. Not of the XBone specifically, but of having a brand new console. I haven't bought a new tech thing in two years, so that picture really brings out my old tech nerd self

Look forward to an Update MDS (Abbrevs. are great, eh readers? ) . PS4 buyers got round the large patch by pre-loading it on to USB as it was available for download pre-launch but hopefully microsoft's fancy 'Azure' servers were up to the task. Also doesn't Xbox one not support USB?

Don't know when I'll buy one, if I ever do. PS4 has got me heart and soul, and that's kinda sad cause the 360 was hands down my favorite system of last gen.

Hehe, no disc drive fault.. so bonus.

Been offline most of yesterday downloading the patch which was only 500mb. Microsoft seems to have realised a big mega patch was a bad idea, so instead each game now has its download portion on its own if you put it in.

So Dead Rising had 600Mb and Ghosts had just over a Gig. Going to try and download Fifa today, but they have been having issues with the LIVE service going down so it didn't accept my free game code last night.

Machine is great, they have pretty much incorporated a 'light' version of the Windows 8 set up for the home screen (which might bother some) and I miss the avatars on my Friends page (although there might be a way to change that in time)

One of the odd things and hopefully it'll get a patch at some point is when you put in a game it wants to install it on the system, but needs those patches. It starts the download but doesn't track the progress, it just sits there saying installed 0% because it doesn't start installing until a fair wack of the patch comes down, then limps along the odd few percent till the patch is fully down then loads up the rest quick like a normal install on a 360. Just something to be aware of if you are wondering why nothing seems to be happening.

After all that I've not played a game yet, been messing about on Minecraft on the 360. Do think its amusing you can be signed in on both.

Will update with game impressions as the weekend carries on.

I'm waiting and seeing, I will be getting my ps4 and after a little while an xbox, microshaft burned me with 3 Xbox and my brother with 2, so I no longer trust them with a release console.

Dead Rising 3 is excellent fun, although I guess as I missed 2, the combi weapons thing seems more new to me than fans of the series.
The city is great though, and some of the mad cap things you can get up to means it will long be one of my 'chuck on for ten minutes of carnage' type games.

Fifa is amazing, skipped the last couple, but I'm loving some of the tactical changes to the focus of the game.

Still not played Ghosts yet, but hopefully I'll get some time in tonight after work.

I have no way of affording a next gen console. When i can however I will probably lean towards the PS4. How much of a step up are you finding it from the previous generation?

Ps4 is sold out here untill Jan next year, but a mate of mine getting one has just given me his PS3 to use in the mean time. I can work into a store right now and pick up an xbox one, and I have to say I am quite tempted to. At the end of the day though I want to be able to play online with my mate and he is going ps4 so I shall to.

Interested to see what ghosts is like.

Let us know how it goes. I generally wait a while before I buy a next gen console, as I don't use them enough to justify buying it for a release.

I really enjoyed my 360, but so far the Xbone has been less than thrilling. I'm curious how it works out MDS, so please keep us updated.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Seems a number of the XBone's full-price launch titles are riddled with microtransactions. Ryse has the ability to buy all the upgrades and Forza allows you to buy the cars - the Lotus E21 setting you back almost the full price of the game itself (£32.50).

Microtransactions from Microsoft. Seems fitting.

I keep saying this, but people talk about a coming war between developers, publishers and consumers. The truth is that war already happened, and we lost.

My buddies was dead on arrival. Kinda sucked he took it back but was stuck with a standard one instead of his day one.

I'm not surprised that there isn't much difference in the new kinect. Still derpy as hell.
