I was looking through the warhammer terrain after purchasing my first proper whfb army and have noticed that the watchtower kit , chapel, fences and the farm building have all disappeared from the uk website is this something recent, could this just be a problem with the website or have they stopped producing the kit?

This is something relatively recent and they have indeed stopped to produce such normal Fantasy terrain.

That sort of scenery is plentiful from other manufacturers so it's not all that much of a loss.

It is if you like your fences decorated with skulls!!

I appreciate there is other stuff out there but I can't seem to ever find stuff with as much detail

thats a bugger I quite liked their fantasy scenery. I wonder if it will re appear in a bundle deal type thing.

Just sent GW an email asking them if they are gone for good or just being repackaged.

I wonder, could it have anything to do with the mass bundles they're selling? £250+ bundles of scenery

Finally got an email back.

They have said that they have been pulled from production and all that's showing on the website is all that they are now selling.

If I wish to purchases these kits I should contact independent stockists and auction sites.

Doesn't make much sense. They were plastic molded, which means they cost a pretty to create.

I could understand them going direct only perhaps, but to pull them altogether I'd imagine was not a good thing. Once the molds are made it costs very little to produce the kits.

Oh well.

So they are out of Warhammer Fantasy terrain? :/

uhm, I ordered the Skulvane Manse from the GW site yesterday.

They just made the new Hobbit plastic releases a splash release. And we all remember the limited Space Hulk that sold out in 2 days. So yeah, they don't care about economics.

Only the ones without enough skulls and below 30$

According to my local manager, he said when Memphis still did production that he had chatted with the prod. manager there and heard that the average plastic mold ran about $20k to make from start to finish including design.

Now the chapel and tower have been out long enough to likely recoup that cost, and I'd imagine the new single sprue characters are run in batch molds to keep that cost down, but short term runs in plastic make no sense.

Thats a shame, i really liked the tower kit. Well all of them. Much more characterful than the 40k stuff

Some scenery has gone, not all of it. The generic Fantasy scenery, like the manor, is being discontinued it seems, while their newer themed BS scenery, like the Tower of Skululululz, is still in production.

That's a real shame I personally loved a lot of it, even though I'd never buy any because my Lizardmen don't have much use for human-type constructs.
