Seems to hint at new scenery?(Radar tower?)

Apologies if this has already been posted.

It's probably the rumored "Escalation" optional supplement that allows you to run one superheavy in a regular 40k games.

Looks like this confirms the Escalation and Stronghold Assault expansions in December.

Escalation seems to bring a subset of superheavy/gargantuan units into regular 40k, and Stronghold Assault is a bunch of new fortification rules and scenarios, including the sheets for the new Apoc stuff released in the summer.

It sounds like a rather dreary release, really. Alternative rules for stuff they just released in Apocalypse, plus a bunch of plastic barricades and bunkers, with maybe two new boxes of the same. Not exactly the stuff of legends.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Well, there are a few rumours of plastic Super-heavies to accompany the release, like the Harridan. But of course, there are always rumours of plastic super-heavies, so take them with a grain of salt. We'll know soon enough; White Dwarf pictures should start leaking any day now.

Guess that means there will be no tyranids in December, then.

No new codex at least, but there's the possibility of a few new kits before the new codex like they did for Daemons or Warriors of Chaos.

Natfka and Faeit are saying that Nids will get 2 plastic boxes in December that cover existing units. One of these is almost certainly Hive Guard, while the other is probably either Tyranid Warriors or another box to replace finecast models, such as Zoanthropes/Venomthropes/Biovores/Pyrovores. Then the new codex drops in January with all the customary new toys.

With the Forge World one being out of stock for so long, I'm starting to think we'll get a plastic Harridan. Probably not in December, but maybe alongside the new codex. The original molds for the resin Harridan will have been getting on a bit, and I can see the need for Tyranids to get a plastic superheavy unit like the Stompa, Lord of Skulls and Tesseract Vault. The Harridan is rumoured to be in Escalation alongside all those units, which would help justify the new release.

Yeah, but past rumors said GW would never turn FW models into plastic kits again, because it cannibalizes sales. I'd have to see it to believe it personally, don't see GW doing that when they could just "make" people buy the vastly more expensive/harder to obtain FW model.

If it does happen then I'm going to be even more annoyed that they didn't turn the barracuda into plastic for the Tau update and gave us that ugly flyer with gakky rules instead. Waste of plastic in my opinion.

Disappointing this will mean no new Nid codex, although this does seem kind of small for a December release, I wonder what they will do along side it. But, I suppose it can't sell any worse than the Hobbit.

Hive Guard are definitely a possibility, seeing as we have already seen the box. But that box also displayed a new weapon biomorph that currently has no rules, so it's possible they'd delay the Hive Guard box to avoid having to print rules for just the single month. As you mentioned, there are plenty of options that are candidates for new kits.

Has that 'GW doesn't turn FW models into plastic' rumour ever held up? The Harridan is a older model that still has the somewhat outdated look that doesn't match the current Tyranid aesthetics. And as xttz has pointed out, it has been out of stock on the FW website for a very long time, so it's generated absolutely zero sales at the moment anyway.

A plastic replacement with updated looks doesn't seem that far-fetched; they basically did the same thing with the now discontinued FW Hive Tyrants not that long ago by making a plastic kit with included wings. That would also leave the Hierodules as the only Tyranid kits with the outdated looks.

What do you mean "has it held up"? It looks like it has, since if I'm not mistaken the last FW kit to ever get plastic treatment was the valkyrie and that was quite some time ago.

And I don't think the flying hive tyrant was quite the same thing. That's not "updating the look of a FW model", it's taking the existing GW model (pretty much the exact same sculpt) and putting a pair of wings on it. I'm not saying they won't do it with the harridan, just saying I find it unlikely.

I can think of the Trygon and the Ork flyers from the top of my head, which also got discontinued after a plastic kit was released. And while you are right that it's not exactly the same thing, FW was the only source for a winged Hive Tyrant for a long time (besides conversions and kit-bashes, of course), and the outdated FW Hive Tyrant models got discontinued after the release of the plastic kit too. Even if there will be no plastic Harridan, I at least expect the same thing to happen for Shrikes, which are also basically FW only too at the moment.

The Forge World Tyranid range is in dire need of sorting out. There has been nothing new since like 2006, and some of the molds are getting on for a decade old. So much stuff has been phased out they're down to just a single page of products.

Moving the Harridan (and even Shrikes) into plastic could help clear away old molds and leave Forge World to work on fresh new ideas for a future IA book.

I forgot about the trygon. I don't remember the Ork flyer, I thought the plastic kit was a new one and FW only had the fighta-bommer which is apparently still available.

I am unfamiliar with the order of such things, but would the stores have not yet received order forms for something this close to release by now? And as a result more details been flooding onto this and other pages?

It likely is not the release but rather the preorders that start on the 30th.

I seriously doubt that anyone bought it before though. The fighta was a complete joke, as it was all but unable to actually participate in a dogfight, considering that its guns were highly unlikely to actually harm anything in the air.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Was that a Khorn Shogun warrior? What was that thing on the tracks, it looks like a Micronaut.

Can I get the name of that thing?

The fortress looks like expansion bits for the defense trenchline sets, "Wall of Skulls", or whatever they call it these days.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

That said, orks are attracted to guns for their overall shootiness. The noise the gun makes is just as important as whether or not it actually kills things.

It looks like a discontinued Forge World piece actually. The Anphelion Complex had a radar dish and twin linked autocannon on a pylon that could be attached to the roof of the complex. Both pieces were also available by themselves in addition to as part of the complex bundles.
