Don't know if anyone has asked this question yet, but has anyone thought of using the scouting inquisitor, with Sister's repentia? Does it work?

An extra six inches just doesn't seem worth it. Repentia are so squishy they still wouldn't make it to combat

Maybe not for Repentia -- but any SoB should be gleeful at the combos that the C:I book provides your army.

Every time I wrote up a list that included adding Inquisitors to AS units, I kept getting bummed out by the fact that their Acts of Faith weren't gonna be working anymore. Although the Act of Faith for the regular Sisters squads isn't all that great, St. Celestine's is pretty damn important IMO.

However, if you ARE adding inquisitors to like a 20-woman Sisters blob, Liber Heresius seems like a must.

We haven't talked about repentia with inquisitors but the rest has been solid. Here's a couple threads:

You could always put repentia in a rhino for a 12" scout move. Followed up by a turn one 6" rhino move, disembark for another 6". This would have you in their deployment zone turn 1, ready to assault turn 2.

That is about the best option I could think of to scout Repentia.

And then they get shot to death by a single tactical squad.

That's the core problem of the C:AS book. They need assault vehicles. At least you can now fake it by taking DCAs, Priests, and Crusaders in a LRC.

Edit: With C:I allies.

Not to get too off topic here but that is one problem with the C:AS book and it isn't the core one. We can certainly discuss this more over in the C:AS thread.

I never said this was a good idea... but if you're trying to get Repentia into the mix, this is about the only way to do it. Your only real hope would be to scout in Dominion squads with them to hopefully give them too many targets to shoot at.

Problem with an inquisitor with sisters is they lose act of faith since the inq doesn't have the rule. Isn't that the FnP for repentia? suppose it would be worth it if you rolled on div and got the 4+ invuln.

Sisters Dex sez: "A unit can only attempt to use an Act of Faith if it is entirely comprised of models with either the Act of Faith or War Hymns special rules."

Yes, but the Relic that allows the scout move can be bestowed upon any friendly unit. The Inquisitor need not be attached to the unit for this to work.

Incorrect.

The bearer of the Liber Heresius, and his unit, gain that special rule until the start of their next turn.

yea, and he cant climb into an allied transport so it kinda sucks. funny that he can be the warlord but not be allowed in an immolator

That's because the immolators have this painted with this on the side.

Priests are the gay best friends of the sisters of battle. They don't count.
