Hi all, I just got an Xperia smartphone and want to transfer the contacts from my old phone (an old Nokia). The Sony Bridge for Mac software crashed when trying to do this

What I want ideally is a utility that sits on my computer and works as an address book and can synchronise my contacts between my phone and different computers.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

It needs to run on Mac OSX, and work with Android devices.

Thanks in advance...

Try running this off the new Android phone? I don't believe it uses your desktop at all, it appears to use bluetooth. I have not used this app but it seems well reviewed. Or am I misunderstanding, is this not a one-time transfer?

I keep my contacts in Google, which also syncs them up on any computer I use and any number of phones I might use.

I might have to start doing that.

It's a right PITA to hand over more of my life info to Google, though.

I think the specifics of your situation as I understand lend themselves well to some sort of cloud based solution, regardless of the vendor. Google will integrate most seamlessly with your device. I do totally understand your hesitation but in my experience it's been the most hassle-free method.

Well that was fun.

Now having got a Google+ and a GMail account I have to figure out how to turn off the tide of bs "What's Hot" window panes in the main page.
