So after much deliberation, I finally broke down and acquired a FW Contemptor dreadnought recently. I decided to use the Puppets War walker arms (http://puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=68) and weapons because A) they are little bit cheaper than the Forgeworld weapons, B) I wanted a different look and I actually prefer the gattling gun from PW versus the FW version, and C) the PW walker arms are designed to be magnetized so its a snap to switch out the weapons. Puppets War's shipping is a bit slow, but all in all, I was very happy with my purchase. I eventually plan to get some other weapon load-outs so I can switch from a Mortis pattern to the standard whenever I want, but for now, I'm going for the classic Kheres Pattern Assault Cannon Mortis setup.

The model is finally put together and ready from some paint. It will be painted in Crimson Fists colors, but I'm still debating on HOW I want to paint the left gun. Red barrels or red housing?

More images to come as I get it painted.

Hey he looks really good. He'd fit nicely along a horde of Cataphractii termies.

As far as the gun goes I'd paint the gun housing Red and do the barrels as metal.

The Cataphratii terminator armour is a big reason why I prefer the Puppets War walker arms. The story behind this guy will be that he is an old relic thought lost but recently recovered from the ruins of the crimson fists' fortress.

I am leaning toward the housing for the red paint. Not sure the barrels would look good painted a vibrant color.

It looks good but the actual arms look way too spindly for something like that, they look like they'll snap off with a slight breeze.

They are a bit spindly but its really the magnets that exasperate that aspect. If I had glued the gun straight to the arm it wouldn't be so noticeable. I am considering putting an extra strut on each arm to make it look better supported but I am not sure it bothers me that much.
