New art of my character from our primary artist. I wasn't a huge fan of how he drew the face, it was drastically different from his earlier drawing. Our GM wanted to do an updated photo, so show some of how we've changed, new items we've acquired, etc.
I'm commissioning this guy to do a scene for this character. Something from the couple of levels he was in interlude, while I was playing the Paladin in one of the pictures up above.

I love the one with the ghost and the piano. I haven't played through this adventure path, but that one picture is very explicit about the situation, and I can just imagine what an "interesting" moment it was for all involved.

That part of the adventure, was hands down the nastiest we've encountered so far.
Paladin, completely indispensable there...

To be completely honest, judging by the depiction in the picture, I don't think dancing a song or two with the undead madame would be too bad myself...
Although I bet there were some unpleasant side effects.

It actually nearly killed the living dancer. There were other things down there, that were very nasty. The next picture. Had we been without my Paladin, probably would have been a TPK.

New work being done. A part of the Assault of Fort Rannick. Just a concept sketch for now. My character and two other rangers (Jakardros and Shalelu) snuck onto the walls and positioned ourselves to provide covering fire while the main party attacked through the gates. Two ogres climbed up into the tower that I was posted in, and in the actual session my character dove backwards from the top of the tower, while firing his bow, and managed to kill both ogres in a single round of combat, before falling to the ground. Was pretty action-movie like.

1 of the final two pieces of work for my archer character. Just in the concept stages right now.
At the end of book four, he has decided to retire. His lover, Shalelu, was pregnant with his child and he was now to become busy with helping to rebuild the Black Arrows, which he is a co-leader of. This is a drawing of his new family, standing on top of the completed fort built on top of Thistletop, where he will take up the training of new Black Arrow members.

Holy cow, these are good! Your GM does these? Your GM is awesome.
I'm running through Rise of the Runelords at this very moment, so these scenes are all familiar to me. My party didn't get the ghost piano dance haunt (our cleric shut down most of the haunts before they could affect us) but the ones we did trigger convinced us to spend several days burning that house to the ground and salting the earth, once the adventure was over.

Happily retired adventurer.
The GM doesn't do these. We hire artists, mostly found through Deviant Art. It's not cheap. This latest one cost me almost $150.
As for whose gonna finish the BBEG? That'll be the Paladin that was in one of the earlier posted drawings.

As long as someone is keeping on top of things. The world doesn’t save itself you know
It’s just a little odd to retire in the middle of an adventure path. I’m trying to remember when that path switched from “There are some nasty things out there on the edge of civilization, best to keep them in check” to “If we don’t put a stop to this bad things are going to happen” Once you hit that second point, you only generally see characters retire if a player drops or wants to switch for some reason. And if you care enough to commission artwork, you generally aren’t doing a mid-campaign character swap. Just kinda curious, from a metagame POV. Your in-character reasons are solid.

It wasn't an easy decision. Meta wise, it was because I did not want this character dying. Again at least. He had already bit it once, but luckily we were in a position to bring him back to life. I was worried about it happening again, and then I was going to lose everything I had built him up to.
In game wise, there was just to much going on for him, to continue adventuring. Not when there were others who could take his place. He's still continuing the fight, just in a different manner. He'll be training a new legion of rangers and warriors to help defend the lands.

A half-orc druid who joined the campaign for a period of time. She was a second character for the guy who played the Samurai from earlier pictures. The Samurai took a break after being smashed/thrown off a dam by an ogre, but he's ready to get back into the fight now.

You seem to have characters getting injured and having to sit out for a time. Is your GM using some kind of "serious injury" rules, or is it a choice of the player to want to try a different class for an adventure? Because my group got mauled once or twice (our Rogue got killed) but we've just "Cure X Wounds" ourselves back to full and forged ahead.

Just a choice the players make. When his samurai died, we had no means to raise him at the time, so he got preserved, and the druid came along. After his samurai got raised, he was enjoying the druid, so the Samurai took some downtime to "recover" from his death experience.

I think stuff like that is pretty cool anyway- "recovery" time and all that.
Sounds like this campaign is going really well though. Might have another read through my copy of Rise of the Runelords
