Subject: Do you think the new tyranid warriors will blend in with the old?

So i have 6 warriors partially built and was wanting to pain them starting later this month. I really like running full broods so i am short 3 warriors but now that it looks like a new warrior kit is coming out im not sure if they will blend in together as a unit. Obviously the picture posted in news and rumors shows the tyranid prime has some spikes etc but thats fine, he's a prime and should stick out. So do you think they would fit in together or do you think the new warriors are too different looking? It's to bad there is only one pic of warriors so far.

Too hard to say right now. I hope so, they will likely be similar. I have too many to replace, so they'd better match!

If you go off the Raveners latest plastic model the new ones should be considerably larger than then last. But it is hard to tell till they show up.

The paint job is half the battle. If you can paint the new ones identically to your existing warriors then from a foot or two away I bet no one would even notice.

Yeah i just dont want to walk away from what i have for the new stuff unless there is a huge difference. And unless warriors are made to be a more effective unit spending an extra $100 just to make them look the same seems a waste of money.

There's no need for them to look the same. Differences in how they might look is only a problem if you choose to make it a problem.

You have nothing to worry about. It's not like we are comparing the first carnifex to the newer plastic ones.

It doesn't matter to me if they do or don't. I still field tyranid attack/RT and 2nd edition metal tyranid warriors. If anyone were to WTF I would just explain these are some of this swarms first generation warriors that have survived thousands of battles and are now here to eat whatever comes before them.
They are genetically bioengineered monstrosities, who cares if they look different from one editon to the other. Although I will happily admit the tyranid attack/RT ones are hideously ugly, but at least they came with bone swords.

Judging by how often my Trygon is called a Carnifex, I'm going to go with "not 40k players".

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

The new ones look very similar indeed - a lot of the difference is likely to be in the boneswords etc included in the kit.

It'll have tweaking, surely - but the differences between the current kit and a new one will be more along the lines of the SM kits for the last 4 editions (3-6th) than between the 2nd ed and 3rd+ ed ones (2nd ed tyranids had only a slight similarity to the current versions. The 2nd ed warriors - plastics - had separate rib cages and organs (you could paint the organs different colours then glue the rib cage on).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

I felt a great disturbance in my bank account, as if hundreds of dollars suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

I'm in the same boat dude! But from what I gather, it's an updated sprue rather than brand new one. So new bits and pieces, but same core.
Hopefully, this will mean that the old and new will look exactly the same, but the new box will have extra arms etc that the old one didn't.
On the subject of warriors though, I was rather disappointed with the prime. I converted one from a warrior and it looks amazing (IMO) and has so much more size and presence than the new one... Might get the new one just for the arms...

It should be fully new sculpts, but like the Tactical Marines they will just be refinements of the old models, rather than majorly different.

Dude, when a Tyranid player lists his units, to me it's just words. You could slip in as many words you make up on the spot and I wouldn't notice.
"This is my Termagrunt. It has a Twin Linked Void Cannon with Xeluthian Coil Parasites." ... and you see me nodding as if I understood every word.

I so want twin linked void cannons and xeluthian coil parasites in the new codex. I don't know what they would do but I bet they'd be awesome.
To be fair, most Dark Eldar stuff is still gibberish to me, all I really understand is Vypers, Kabalite Warrios, Incubi & "look, I've got 200 poisoned shots here, maybe you should quit now".
