I'm back an this thread still has me perplexed.

It goes against everything Fraz has ever taught us about how things work in Murica.

Why did no one have a "carry permit"?
Why did no one get shot multiple times, possibly by accident?
Why was no one tazered or CS gassed or CS gassed then tazared after being shot multiple times?
What sort of candy-arse place allows you to not defend yourself against Indians? They have form - circle the wagons, everyone knows this!
Where was Hulk Hogan and TJ Hooker throughout all of this?
Why is this not Obamas fault?
It must be.....surely?

My biggest disappointment about this whole affair is that I now think Fraz has been lying to us innocent Euros. This is all too much just before Christmas, first someone tells me Zombie Santa isn't real now I learn Fraz may have been full of bluster?

Well, you'll also note that it didn't make the news. It's a personal account.

That says a lot about the country, and the news.

I'm sorry that local government-native relations are so poor in New York. They weren't great in Rhode Island for a long time after a botched State Police raid (though still not as bad as what you've described).

I'll echo what others have stated as a Hand to Hand combatives instructor: once he used a deadly weapon, you were within the law to prevent seriously bodily harm to yourself and your father. Now in your current climate, could that have being arressted and possibly charged? Unfortunately yes.

However, better to save your life and spend some time dealing with the legal system. As Frazz more eloquently put.

You should have fought back, snapped his neck, eaten his heart to gain his strength, then impregnate his girlfriend AND his sister (depending on what part of NY, they could be the same person). That's the only way to really win a fight.

No, I used to work for the casino. To make a long and convoluted story short while I was up there I ended up the owner of a old brick church there. I don't live in it, but we stop and check on it every now and then.

The local fire department had called us that someone had pried off the plywood again on some of the ground floor windows. Looked like some bums had been in it, garbage all over. I was inside, my father was outside taking out some trash, I heard breaking things and shouting, came out, saw the old man getting knocked around by this red haired white guy.

Apparently the old man had seen him throw something at one of the windows and tried to stop him.

While I got used as the human pinata the Marshals came running up and grabbed him, having seen most of what went on. Dad had apparently seen them coming and told me not to hit him, just keep him busy. The town cops showed up about this point and wanted to arrest everyone but the marshals said that it was clearly a matter of a white assaulting a native (in this case the native being Dad.), so they remanded the red haired guy to the city cops and wrote him a fine for vandalism. Everyone gave their statements to the cops and that was pretty much it. (thus far)

Other than my glasses being smashed and some minor cuts and bruising, I'm fine, though I was rather sore this morning.

The gun laws in this country vary quite a bit from state to state (with some federal requirements being uniform). In some states, getting a conceal carry permit is "shall issue"; which means that as long as you have no disqualifying issues such as a criminal conviction or a mental health history, the local sheriff is obliged to issue a permit if you qualify otherwise. However, in other states, they are much more tightly controlled. These are called "may issue"; which means issuing them is at the discretion of the local sheriff. In NY in general and in NYC specifically it is nearly impossible to get a concealed carry permit - unless you work as a professional bodyguard, or some extenuating circumstance, you will not be issued a permit. It's very nearly a de facto ban in that locality.

The argument is that; while Baron would have likely have prevailed at some later point, he wanted to avoid being arrested and a lengthy detainment before it was sorted out, and of course, there was a chance he could have been seen as a participant.

One, unlike in England, in the US we only get paid when we work.

Two, it's the holiday season and I just spent a ton.

On the up side, my schedule A showed up finally, which will help me move to government work that does not involve PMCs or anyone's war department or space program.

As far as cost goes I don't know, have not yet gotten around to looking. I just soldered the old frames back together. Lenses are shatter resistant R5As I had recut to fit a wrangler metal frame so they're ok, save a bit of chipping,

Yup. An "operator" who holds no official military rank. Can tell you about the treaties that screwed his tribe in depth, can recite whatever UN articles support his views, claims to know advanced military doctrines, claims knowledge of chemical and other special weapons, claims to know very technical details of certain tank weapon systems, and should have an understanding of when lethal force can be used in his alleged line of work.

But he doesn't seem to know when to, or if he can, defend himself from someone attacking him with a bottle and chair.

You're on the res, go to the tribe's hospital for a new pair; that's what we do here in native country.
