So i was wondering.

Those who play or know GK's, might remember the name of that power, its the Psy power of the Brotherhood Champ, you know the power that if the model is killed, he can pass a Psy test, then attempt a To Hit roll, and takes with him the model who killed him, with no save etc, the model is removed, and coutn has destroyed.

Now i was wondering if yes or no you get a Deny the Witch roll Vs that power?

By simple logic, i would say yes, because its a Psy power, with a Psy test and a to hit roll, like described in the Deny the witch rule, but could i have it wrong?

Does the power target the enemy?

If no then you can not use DTW.

Well yes this power targets the model who killed the Psyker.

Well specifically you can target a IC that was in BtB contact with him, or something like that, i don't have the GK dex under hand.

Where does it say that it targets the model that kiled the Champion?

Well no it does not target the enemy.

"If the psychic test is successful, the Brotherhood Champion immediately makes a single attack against one enemy model that was in base contact when he died. If this attack hits, both models are removed as casualties with no saves of any kind allowed..."(26 GK Codex)

The power allows that champion one additional attack against an enemy in base contact, so it targets the champion and not the enemy.

yes but the target of that attack is the ennemy, no?, and its a Psy power, since it must pass a test.

Its like saying" if the Psyker pass a Psy test he can then make a shooting attack with the following profil versus the targeted unit".

Its like activating a force weapon. The enemy model is not the target of the psychic power.

No, the target is not the enemy. The target is the psyker.
IF succesful the psyker gets to make a special attack.

It's a psychic test to give the champion another attack. So, no DTW roll. The target of the attack hasn't even been determined when you're doing the psychic test!

Mmh i see, in the case of other Psy powers you first declare your target, then make the test and then make a DtW.

Here its the other way, you first make the test then target.

Not quite. In this case, the target is the psyker, giving himself a self-buff.

Everyone who has indicated the power targets the psyker (the champion) and not whatever it is the champion is hitting is correct.

So no, no 'Deny the Witch' roll can be made.

The target of the power-granted save-denying close combat attack however? Is whatever it is that just killed the model.

So, if you had some ability that keyed into being hit in close combat? that would work fine. (provided it didn't involve a save anyway, since those are expressly forbidden)

After the Champion is self-buffed, the attack he uses is not a Psychic power, so does not count as one nor does it provoke a Deny.
