Draigo flawlessly fighting off a horde of daemons for three days in a narrow pass without taking a step back.

...aaaaaaaand then he got sucked into the warp and we don't talk about the rest.

That story started off real good.

Every time I get more info on the creation of the Primarchs and the Space Marine Gene seed I totally geek out. I'm a Molecular Biologist by trade, and the thought of the magnitude of the bioengineering involved is staggering. Soooo much fun to think about

It's like Ward's pen gets floppy after the first part of any of his fluff.

Geek out moments for 40k for me involve inventing fluff for my army. I now have a complicated network of alliances and characters going on, involving:

Warning: Off-topic. I just like writing it up.
Spoiler:

-The Ultramarines (Captain Agemann specifically), who've been fighting off my zombie raids

-The Doom Harvesters warband (Lord Pyros at it's head), being the raiders, and in an alliance with Be'lakor and Sedecim.

-The Daemon Prince Sedecim (my own invention), who is on the run from Tzeentch after cheating fate and stealing too many souls. He allied himself with the Doom Harvesters to help him survive better, whilst divining their futures in return.

-Be'lakor, who rules over the planet Kar'vahoth in this fluffline, and sends out the "293rd Landsharks" to aid the Doom Harvesters.

- The 293rd Landsharks, who are fanatical followers of Be'lakor, and are a mechanised regiment of human/abhuman/daemonic IG.

"They are coming! I feel them scratching inside my mind, scratching, screaming, running, so many - so, so many voices. They're coming for us - flesh, body, and soul!"

I knew I picked the right race after I first read that line. Still sends a chill up my spine even now.

In Thousand Sons where Magnus takes down an eldar titan with mind bullets, ugh, that was just pure awesome

Slaanesh: "Hey guys we're back! We brought presents. And yes, they ARE sexually suggestive"
Tzeentch: "So did we miss anything while we were away"
Khorne and Nurgle trade a shifty glance
Tzeentch: "Hey! Whos been touching my stuff! Where did my Old World go?!"
Khorne and Nurgle wander off whistling.

Titanicus... just the entire book Titianicus... (except the last chapter. That author butt-pull ending annoyed me. It was so much less than the story deserved)

I agree. I love writing fluff and stuff. I have so many Word documents with Glacier Serpents fluff so even my 40K buddies are dismayed!

I'm not even a Death Guard fan but ol' Crysos geeks me out in the first book.

One thing that geeked my socks off was the ending of Chains of Golgotha when Ghazgull Thraka lets Commissar Yarrick go from imprisonment, but not before speaking to him in HIGH GOTHIC (though it only mentions the fact that he's speaking it, it's written in English).

I geek a little whenever I read about Angron charging an enemy line, giving zero feth about their shooting, and just slaughtering them all.

I geeked pretty hard while reading Galaxy in Flames when Horus used the virus bombs on loyalists then set the whole planet on fire.
