What about a headless guardsman running forward holding his head in his hand as he runs? There are a lotof running catachan legs and arms down holding items (think of the one carrying the las gun by the handle).

Commissar, Jr officer or unliked sarge with a whole load of knives stuck in his back. He may be so full of himself he doesnt even notice them.

Tank commander on fire burning to a crisp as flames boil up out of the hatch around him.

How about a perfectly healthy medic pulling his own hair out?

For the "melted guy, or a melted guy, be sure to make it a guy carrying a flamer, (lots of extra 'ammo bottles is helpful. and ya gotta use the head with the cigar.

Why not make a statement. Make a tank commander with ber mug or bottles around him or in his hand, maybe even a 'drug pipe' (the fantasy dwarf set can give you some bits for this) and make him appear to be drunken. Then you can incorporate some bodies into the treads.
I have lost a few family members and freinds to drunk drivers so dont take this as making light of it, Consider it as making a statement of what can easily happen. You can even paint a sign or bumper sticker on it to the effect of drunk driving kills to emonstrate this statement.

If you do any vehicles, I would love to see a Valkyrie with the door gunners hanging from the edge or fallen to the base, leaving a bloody mess in a vaguely human-shaped crater.

i'm seeing heavy weapons teams with misfiring weapons.

How about taking advantage of the large base of a HW team. A grenade are melta bomb sitting in the middle "presumably just tossed there by an enemy) as the team members bail out.

do you have opponents that you regulerly play that use "swarm" type units? yes, I'm looking at you necron scarabs. might be fun to have a few guys going down under a bunch of them. maybe even a tank dying as scarabs eat away sections of the hull.

A tank being torn appart by some sort of swarmy things would be kick-ass. Though, maybe you should decide who or what you are fighting against, getting swarmed by nurglings, scarabs, ripper swarms and being stomped into the mud by dreadnoughts is somewhat unlikely all at once, even with an increasingly grimdark++ army.

QUICK UPDATE: I have just gotten in enough bits for some 30 Cadians. LET THE SLAUGHTER BEGIN! If I turn this into a P&M Blog I'll be sure to let you all know

Hmm... I don't use Valks for Valks, I use 1:48 Hueys and Apaches I'll have to go buy another one and do this, though! I can easily put a hole in the cockpit window and have a dead pilot. Then maybe base it so it's tilted on a horrific angle with mangled blades. That'd make it easy to have Guardsmen door gunners in the process of falling out of the doors

I do play against 'Nids quite often. I'll have to ask to borrow some Ripper swarms!

The outhouse I found by googling outhouse miniature 28mm and looking under images. I think that pic was from a US source and about $6 iirc. I'm on the kindle which makes it hard to link right now.

you could have some fun with the outhouse. make it the special weapons guy who is never around when you need them the most. Put a magnet in the side and magnetize one ofeach of the special weapons. This way it could be used no matter which special weapon you paid the points for by just 'sticking the appropriate weapon to it. heck, you can magnetiz the lasgun too if yourgoing barebones.

Or perhaps a guardsmen with a gut shot, desperately trying to pry a las pistol from a comrade’s decapitated hand, after losing his own weapon.

Just a nid based idea how about you have a guardsmen being chest bursted by a ripper model. And if your having sentinels maybe have one with the entire cock pit as a great big ball of fire.

What about a guy on fire from a flamer, or one being crushed by a grav-gun!

Two models one wounded on his arse still firing, the other trying to drag him away you could do this on separate 25mm bases so wouldn't impacted gameplay. Think that bit from COD modern warfare.

With the earlier idea of the guardsman being swarmed, just have an arm with a grenade poking out through a tide of them.

Plasma gunner; gun dropped on the floor with no hands and a badly burned face for it gets hot.

Not sure how you'd do it but flame trooper with his fuel tank exploding.

Very nice, I'm getting enough ideas to finally say "I have enough to make an army out of!"

I want to thank you guys again for helping me out with this. I'm having so much fun with this project! I'm sure there's still plenty of ideas out there, keep them coming and I'll take anything you guys have!

Hmm... Looks like this may actually be a good time to start up a P&M blog again. Instead of posting progress pictures on here, I'll keep this thread as the "ideas" thread and then upload all my pictures of my work into an old P&M blog I had for my previous army. I've actually got an idea tying in this casualty army with my old "Lost Regiment" that I will get to over there in time

Clear resin coat a model like stalaktites, paint the stalaktites in fiery transparent color, bonus point if the model is flailing its arms as if running around lit on fire.

Some legs or arms sticking out from under the treads of a chimera, or an arm hanging out from a hatch.

An ig blown in half, his upper body still in midair, some wire and greenstuff shaped as intestines, works as a platform to keep the upper torso in midair.

Someone running desperatley trying to hold back his guts falling out from an open gaping wound.

A guardsmen getting caught in the blast of a battle cannon, with some kind of smoke effect and the guy getting blasted off his feet?

I'm starting to feel sorry for those guardsmen.

What about a guy overran by a tank?
( standard base, torso cut in half and instead of lower half would be a GS blob with imprinted LRBT tracks)

guardsmen (remains of him?) chained to front armor of a (Chaos Rhino?)

terrified guardsmen hiding in wardrobe (or a wooden box)
(side piece of a box is missing)
Or hidden in a barred or tire pile
