Except the bit where they got 50% of the name wrong?

Nailed it must have a different definition in 40K Radio land!

But if they're putting that on the box? That's going to confuse a lot of noobs.

I don't see how. Auxillia will be Ogryn, Ratlings and whatever else they've pulled out of their ass invented for this book.

And in any case, it doesn't make 40K Radio wrong as you implied. If anything, the fact that the box mentions the different nomenclature specifically adds credence to the idea that the Imperial Guard are more and the Trademark Troopers are the new name.

Because if Ogryns, Ratlings etc are Auxilia

Guardsmen are Militarum

Tanks are something else (Mechanicum? Nah, prolly not)

You're going to have multiple boxes with different names on, all relating to the same army - won't pose the likes of you and me an issue, but the Johnnys? Maybe.

Plastic Ogryn kit...

Not vets... not stormtroopers... not a redesigned artillery box... but plastic OGRYN!?!?!?!

I don't know whether to laugh at how silly this sounds or how spot on it sounds. I could see GW making them the hot new thing next codex since not a lot of people would have them. It would also makes sense since there's been a push to get a big beefy centerpiece unit for each army. At least that would imply that Abhumans are being kept around and seeing more importance (hopefully) in the new codex, which is a good thing.

I'd take that with a HUGE helping of salt though. How on earth would a slip up like that happen when IG are at least a month away from release, especially with the way GW cracks down on rumors. There's no way some new Ogryn would get out unless this was a MASSIVE slip up and they accidentally shipped out hundreds as a resupply to stores. If it was something like a new infantry squad box, I can see that. Some guy at the warehouse doesn't play the game and doesn't pay attention. He's told to grab 20 boxes of Imperial Guard infantry squads, and he accidentally grabs from the new shipment. But something like Ogryn, who don't have a plastic box, and there's no way to really confuse metal blisters with that seems highly unlikely.

Also, shouldn't this post be in the IG rumor thread?

Has there been an Ogryn sized plastic release that doesn't make at least two different units?
Ogryns and...Batrukian Rhino men...feared negotiators and fabled poets, the Imperium has strapped assault cannons to their faces and sent them to the front lines.

They don't have to pull anything out to fill out space really. Just make two profiles of Ogryn, one profile is Feral the other is the Auxilia.

"Feral Ogryns" and "Auxilia Ogryns" work as a double kit.
Barbaric Ogryn wielding melee weapons and other "feral" crap with the Auxilia carrying the trademark Ripper Guns with an option for the Bone 'Ead to have a heavy weapon.

Ooh... then they could do double duty on the kit by giving Ogryn Mercs back to Ork armies...

I'm tentatively excited about plastic Ogryn (which I would actually make in to Rhino men...).

Recently? Tyranid Warriors?
They could always add option to the ogryn squad- ripper guns or ripper pistol and ccw perhaps. And given the size of the ogryn model, I could easily see GW wanting to get rid of them in finecast and into a plastic kit, possibly on a 50mm base.
Depending on how many kits are supposed to be part of the IG release, and rumors of a Knight in March with IG in April, it's possible that GW will release some Guard/Militarum models in MArch, kits which replace old units like Ogryns, Artillery tanks, maybe Ratlings and Roughriders, before putting out the more popular and showy stuff with the IG book in April.

I doubt it was a "mistake" though if Ogryn did get sent out to someone. Probably an intentional leak, to build up hype.

On the other hand some plastic Ogryns would just be fun. I've always liked Ogryns but I hated the metal kits for them. Could this be the long awaited solution to my "DKoK ogryns" issue?

I like Ogryn as a concept, but I've never been a fan of their models. I like the 2nd Ed ones more than the current ones, but that's not saying much. I own a single Ogryn - the Bone 'Ead model (the only model I've ever pinned, as it happens) - but never wanted a full metal unit both because the cost was stupid and because I never felt the need to use them. My single Ogryn has been great for the various 40K RPG's, but that's about it.

Plastic Ogryn would change my mind, as long as they look better than the current ones.

I hate Ogryn and Ratlings.

They each fill a role in the army and GW keeps bringing them back without also properly adding an equivalent consisting of actual Guardsmen to the roster.

Is there any reason to actually believe this? 40K Radio just want us to believe their source because he is a 'listener?' Is that enough to give this report credence? Without a picture, I'll hold off thinking too much about this story.
