I'll be starting a second army, either Minotaur marines or Traitor Guard (or just get both and eat noodles for all of 2014)

Most likely the latter option knowing me.

If the FW Corsairs update is very good I will probably plan a corsairs army for the future when I have the money and time to pull it off. Other than that I'll just be admiring the pretty and looking forward to seeing what the new OP dex is.

I want to finish filling out my Orks and continue the arduous task of modeling and painting them. Also, i'm sure i'll invest some in new Ork models assuming they come out in 2014.

Expand the Warriors of Chaos army I bought, work on Daemons some more. Probably jump back to Orks and/or Space Wolves when/if they get updated.

2. Not suck at playing orks
3. Start Warhammer Fantasy (Wait, I can play an army with volley guns and steam tanks? And totally justify painting them as Prussians? Here's my wallet.)
4. I'd also like to have 1500 points worth of Germans for my Flames of War army (Fortunately I like StuG's, so it shouldn't be too hard.)
(I really wanna play something Tzeentch related, but I doubt it'll happen.)

Apparently I don't plan to have money this year. Never stopped me before. And of course paint and build along the way.

Well for me, I'm starting out. Going to start a CSM Night Lords army following C:SM Raven Guard rules if I ever play them on the table. My main HQ I look forward to making will be based off an RP character I made once. Winged Night Lord. For simplicity's sake, I'll be getting the CSM battleforce kit and using the winged backpack from the possessed for my counts-as-shrike HQ. Winged, Raptor's body and feet with lightning claws and any interesting bits I get or make.

While having experience painting prior in my life (although not miniatures, clay), I expect to slaughter the first batch of basic CSM footsloggers and thus will save the HQ for last.

My goal is not to buy a single thing. I have hordes upon hordes of unpainted and assembled stuff including enough IG to make a decent and playable infantry company.

I just want to work on that stuff now. My other hobbies have eaten up all of my budget and they are time sensitive for purchasing unlike 40K is. I can buy a Chimera today or 3 years form now it will always be waiting. There is no urgency with GW purchases.

Drop about $500 when GW releases the new Sisters of Battle Codex and models.

Oh well, I guess I'll have an un-spent $500 at the end of the year!

My plans for 2014.. getting rid of most of my 40K stuff and switching to Bolt Action. Hanging onto my orks until I see how their new codex pans out.

Paint as much as possible and only make purchases that are updates of armies I currently own (I've got Dwarfs in my crosshairs).

At this point, the only new army I will shell out big bucks for is Sisters of Battle in plastic form.

Still though, just whhhhhy Ultramarines. If you're going to blow that much money, you're better suited doing something you couldn't do with the current W40K era- which you can with Ultramarines. For example, HH era Night Lords, Thousand Sons, Luna Wolves, Emperor's Children, or even the existing loyalist legions like the Salamanders or Raven Guard. With those you'll have a very unique several thousand dollar HH army that will stand out in the crowd- as opposed to having a several thousand dollar Vanilla Marines army that won't grab anyone's attention besides having big HH units. Whereas those will grab somebody's attention- people will just pass over the Ultramarines, and for good reason. They're vanilla. They're no longer really special anymore, their fluffs' been severely marred. While other armies will pop and violently grab someone's attention, anyone who isn't an Ultramarines fan will likely just pass over the army. Or also ask whhhhhhy Ultramarines.


If you're going to buy a hotrod, you get a bright yellow or red. Not grey. While it's cool if you're not spending a lot of money on it- a full HH Ultramarines army just leaves me cringing as people will just pass over it for being the Vanilla Marines.

I'd just save up and build a custom desktop. It'll probably be cheaper, and blow the XBONE out of the water and into orbit.

That's kinda the point.

Everyone else IS some super specialized and insane army. But then the Ultramarines are there, being your average grunt. Also, there are like a million of them, because this is preheresy.

Stay strong brother! If I were to play 30k, Ultramarines are my pick.

My goal: Up armor my IG. Which translates to adding more tanks. Followed by painting said IG.

I also want to get a bunch of games in or join a campaign. Something more substantial than local pick up games.

All very, very good points. If it weren't for Ultramarines World Eaters would be my first pick since their fluff and color scheme is cool. The reason I am doing Ultramarines is because, well, is because they are so bland. To make the Ultras stand out in a crowd will be a modeling and painting project on it's own. I want people to look at my army and say, "Wow, I never thought the smurfs could be so cool".

Admittedly, this is more of them being cool in spite of their color schemes rather than because. Doing a World Eaters army would be a fantastic modeling project as the ideas are endless. I could have them holding the heads of loyalist marines, splatter gore all over their heads, try my hand at reposing legs etc.

I suppose then the reason I'm doing Ultras is I am doing something I feel very few would do.

Besides, who doesn't want a hero named Rawbutt Girlyman?

It's Rowboat Girlyman, not Rawbutt. That's what Fulgrim currently goes by ever since throwing in his lot with Slaanesh.

Putting my 'nids on the backburner for a while, until the hype dies down from the new dex and concentrating on my DE. Starting with converting a Voidraven and rebuilding my army. I had tragically misplaced all of my infantry at a tourney and am slowly rebuilding them. So yes. Conversion and then heaps of painting.

Paint more and assemble all the stuff I have sitting around still sealed in their boxes.

The real problem I have is selecting paint schemes for my armies where schemes can be anything. Tyranids and Lizardmen in particular pose big problems for me, I can never decide on the colors. :(

First off, finish assembling the 31 models left of my IG army.

Secondly, then paint all of my 2300 point IG army.

Thirdly, continue to collect and read the rest of the 6th Ed. Codexes/supplements that I currently do not have/have yet to come out.

Lastly, continue to work on my IG army to real Apocalypse levels, assembling and painting 1 unit at a time.

Finish painting of already bought models.

Buy new models (some LoW, Vulture)

Paint new models.

Receive my Raging Heroes Toughest Girls of the Galaxy pack.

And then sit outside the GW main office and hunger strike until they release a pack of basic plastic sisters.

Finishing painting all my tanks and big things.

I have about a dozen Rhinos / Land Raiders / other things for my CSMs that is primed black, magnetized, and only has a basic paint job. I need to get them cleaned up in a bad way.

Not in any particular order:
- finish painting my little DA army (just three bikes to detail, three bikes to prime, one balthasar which is 'extra army')
- possibly work said army up to 1999+1 points, probably by adding and painting a nephilim
- finish painting my callidus and my second vindicare (both basecoated)
- start a GK/=][= contingent
- try making (and painting, if they are good) a couple of papercraft vehicles)
- depending on my finances, mess/convert/paint some eldar, dark eldar or tau models
- same as above, but with something fantasy

I might look into a small grey knight detachment for my IG, some assassins and a little bit of knights, probably paladins

I like reading all these goals

I shall purchase a Hunter/Stalker box perform the following:

1) Convert the Icarus Stormcannons into 2 Thunderfire cannons.
2) Proxy Hunter as Whirlwind or Scorpius Whirlwind... or use it as is.
3) Rhino chassis means another valuable METHUL BAWKS for my Chapter.

So it makes... five or six units in ONE box! I think that's a pretty fair tradeoff

Just started putting together an emperors children army. List is wrote out for 1,750pts. So will be hoping to finish that.
That's it gw wise.
Other plans are based in and around dropzone commander.

Finish up my Nids collection by adding the new models.
Finish up my Daemons of Nurgle army (4 boxes of Nurgle flies and a FW GUO to go)
Wait for the new Imperial Guard codex to hit so I can get moar tanks and infantry for my traitor guard.

Actually start playing games and build my Space Marines up to 1750. If I somehow manage to get that done, then I will buy the Horus Heresy books so I can be ready for when Ultramarines come out.
