Lets play a game. In short what's that one food that smells so good and gets your mouth watering that it doesn't make the car ride home. Please leave description so people in other country's have an idea what your talking about.

Mine is "In an Out" Animal style burger and fires. In an Out is a burger joint we have in western US possible all over but not sure. Animal style refers to there secret menu where they grill onions in mustard and butter and but it on the burger as well as all over the fries with melted cheese.

In-N-Out is west coast only for the most part. There are a bunch in the Dallas area, but that's about it.

I can't think of what is currently my food, I will update later once I know.

I'm a sucker for asian food, and there's a local place with a Drunken Noodle that's flipping delicious.

My local burrito place. They have three branches and they make such good burritos.

Also, Crispy Shredded beef from a good Chinese...

Oh, and a good kebab. I love me a good dona kebab with chili sauce, or kebab meat and chips. So unhealthy, but soooo goooddd...

I'm not usually that easily led by smells but i'm currently doing a bit of post-Christmas dieting I found myself tormented by the smell of plain chicken breast grilling yesterday.

I was in a construction site office meeting roomr and a colleague had brought in a George Foremen grill as part of his own chicken based dieting and was cooking away in the adjacent kitchen. I couldn't leave to remonstrate/steal some as I was in a meeting with my guvnor and by tine we finished the chicken was gone and I was super ravenous.

How bad is it that I have been brought low by boring old plain fething chicken!

To be fair, that's how I am when I get home. It doesn't matter what is being cooked, it smells amazing!

My food was, while it was out, the McDonalds Mighty Wing. I'm a sucker for really good crispy fried chicken and spicy chicken wings. And McDonalds gave me both of those, combined into one and all for 5 bucks. It was great while it was out.

The things that never make it home are few and far between because I don't like to eat in my car, but the things that make me go, "Oh man that's tasty and I want to eat it all." Is Chinese food, Thai food, wings, and pizza...

I'm a fat kid I know, but it's all damned tasty.

Food smells always pick on the fat kids - they should be baned!

Luckily I'm 'big boned' and not fat (that's what my mum said) so am immune to their lure.

Has to be curry, or really anything that uses a lot of spices. A good Korma or Tikka will have me counting the seconds until dinner.

The smell and sound of Bacon frying is also one of the most inspiring things this universe has to offer.

On my trips between western and eastern Missouri, I make it a point to get a crave case at White Castle. It's weird, I don't particularly think they taste especially good, but they ignite a fiery passion in my gut.

Luckily, a few sliders survive the rest of the trip.

I'll agree with this. My roommate has woken me up a couple time by cooking bacon.

*Note, I live in a loft apartment, and ALL cooking smells get amplified up in the loft, where my bedroom is.

I think reiner found my food that won't make it home.

I rarely, if ever get a craving for those greasy fething things, but when I do... one or two won't sate my hunger.

In-&-Out Animal Fries are good, especially if you get them to put the diced yellow chili peppers on top. I also have them give me a side of pickles that I put on the fires as well. So. Damn. Good.

But my food of no resistance has to be Del Taco's 1/2 pound bean & cheese burritos with red sauce. Those things are like cylindrical crack, and I can't help but kill one off on the drive home. A close runner up is the same burrito but with their chipotle sauce instead. It isn't on the menu anymore but every location I have been to in the last year will happily substitute either the green or red sauce for chipotle sauce. Try it. Your taste buds will thank you.

Just typing this out is making my mouth water a bit. I love gakky Mexican fast food.

When drunk, I find the smell of fried onions irresistible. The walk from my favourite pub in Dublin was littered with these bastards selling overpriced hot dogs with fresh fried onions. I'd eat one, and then see another stand and end up buying a second, or a third.

Another one that always gets me is curry-cheese-chips. Got into the habit after a the pints post RPG in university of getting it. Chips (well, Fries for americans), grated cheddar on top, then doused in curry sauce to make a delicious melty spicy potatoey mess.
Yum. German curry sauce is lame!

Naan bread is great too, usually because it means curry is not far behind.

Curry-cheese-chips is something I need to try.

This thread is making me hungry...

Hot English mustard makes my mouth water, If I smell it i'm eating it. Strangely I have never managed a whole jar on the way home but have indulged in a fingerfull to sate my urges - the resulting mouth pain convinced me not to do it again however. I stick to teaspoon now only - and then think not to do it again

Oh oh oh! I have a new use for mustard you may love my friend. Carbonara, 2 eggs, a heaping spoon of your favorite mustard, and a cup or so (to your taste really) of Parmesan or Romano cheese with a dash of kosher salt and white pepper. Whip that up and ready to go. I personally fry up some bacon mix that in and fry the noodles in the fat for a minute or two before I poor the egg mixture on.

Currently it's buffalo flavored anything. Buffalo chicken burritos, buff chicken calzones/pizza, buff chicken wings, buffalo chicken nachos, buff chicken subs, ugh I love it all.

And screw you west coasters for bringing up in'n'out. Those burgers are insanely good and we don't have anything like that on the easy coast. Double double animal style with fries omg! I spent a week in Arizona last year and embarrassingly ate at in'n'out 12 times...

It's this. Only this. I've recently developed a love for Indian food, and I swear I could live off of it and not get bored. Spinach and Lentil curry is amazing, I could eat it by the pound and it's pure health. Chicken Tikka Masala, Bhuna chicken, Vindaloo, Sonoma (tried for the first time last night)...I love it. I haven't actually found an Indian dish that I've disliked-and I usually hit the buffet and try everything. The worst I've said about any of the dishes is "well, that wasn't bad, but I'd rather eat more of this." I hate eggplant, but my step sister's boyfriend got an eggplant dish a couple weeks ago, and I found myself thoroughly enjoying it. I'm very impressed with that style of cooking. Cumin, turmeric, garam masala, cardomin...yeah, it's all good. Made some with my dad the day after Thanksgiving and my health nut of a step mom couldn't stop eating, even after she was stuffed. It's good. Very good. Not edible in car though.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
