So let's Take my situation. There are humans and chaos gods. So the chaos gods rely on emotions. If all the humans somehow stop feeling that emotion then the god would eventually die out. This is probably very flawed but thoughts?

You fool me once I'm mad.
You fool me twice, I don't really like you.
You fool me three times, your officially that guy.

Humans aren't the only race feeding the ruinous powers, and if they went all vulcan they would cease to be human.

On the upside they might relearn what efficient means.

The IOM is held together by fanaticism , religious dogma and devotion/courage which doesnt work without emotion .

Only the eldar can party hard enough to rip a hole in the cosmos and spawn a dark god of depravity.

Only the eldar can then shrug, and stage an after party in the webway right afterwards that's still not done yet...

Perhaps the mass death of humanity would birth a new god, one of fear.

Gotta love the dark eldar
And the best part of it is that their parties are now the only thing that is keeping them from being consumed by aforementioned dark god.

Sure. The chaos gods are far weaker. You try getting several trillion humans to stop feeling any emotions. We'll see how that goes...

Maybe, but for the Eldar it was the other way around. They became so depraved that the deity was formed to reflect the rampant emotions, and when it came into being the psychic shockwave mass-killed the Eldar.

For the same effect you'd have to have Humanity feeling intense fear as a race, until the Boogeyman was born, simultaneously killing the vast majority of humanity.

As I'm currently watching the original Star Trek, the 'Vulcans have no feelings' schtick certainly doesn't jive with how Spock acts. For being a man with no emotion he sure does like to smirk, gloat, play instruments, or otherwise do a lot of emotional stuff.

Vulcans have emotions. They just repress them on the grounds that they can cloud one's ability to do logical thinking. It becomes an issue for Spock's father when a combination of old age and a disease makes it difficult for him to repress those emotions.

...at any rate, getting humans to manually stop feeling emotions is something that simply can't be done, I think. The closest the Imperium can get to it is memory wiping of the Grey Knights to remove all prior emotional ties (and even that doesn't really remove all emotion), but doing that to every human in existence isn't feasible from a cost point of view, I imagine.

Well, and converting into servitors, but those don't count as human anymore, I think.

I guess mechanicus members get close to an emotionless state, sometimes, but as Kelbor Hal, (the Fabricator general who made a lot of the Mechanicus join Horus during the Heresy) whom is stated to have reached a near emotionless state proved, that's actually a BAD thing and if anything, makes one even MORE prone to turning to Chaos (in part because they no longer have any moral qualms without emotion)

Spock isn 't Vulcan. He's HALF vulcan and by Vulcan standards is incredibly emotional. He leans heavily toward the human side.

Vulcans repress all emotion, barring the occasional homicidal episode,..

I think we do have that boogeyman. The hive fleet. I've always felt there's a very specific reason why fear, and the elimination of it, was a big part of making the astartes. Plus I think we (humans) are moved by fear moreso than anything else.

The born and neverborn are one, just flip sides of existence, think of your body and the heat it produces, or a planet and the gravity it generates, a fire and light. Think of how your body existed in one spot and when you move it exist in another and will cease to exist later and reappear in a different stop.

There's also how the Chaos Gods are stronger than any previous deity's in W40K (save Gork and Mork) and ignore causality.

Does tend to help, yes.

Frankly causality is a dwindling resource in 40K anyway..

I didn't put it well before but humans can't be stonger than a natural force anymore than you can say your stronger than gravity or physics.

And Khorne has that army of Orcs he keeps resurrecting so they can fight forever outside his Brass Castle Thinger. Pretty sure the Orcs alone could keep Khorne going even if they had no one else to fight but each other.

I get where you're coming from though, without mortal pawns what is any God really? Just an up-jumped Galactic Being with delusions of grandeur I'd say...

Humans cant stop feeling emotions, its a fact of human psychology, that intellect is directly associated with emotions and people who have brain damage in parts responsible for emotions (aka becomming emotionless), also become useless in intellectual activities, even if they score high on iq tests.

That's also one of the reasons you can fault the AM for tech stagnation becuase they don;t allow anyone else to work on machines but they destroy the creative and emotional half of their brains and replace it with a computer.

That and by the Codex, at least Slaanesh ignores causality. Coupled with them being described as omnipotent within the immaterium and even possibly having time travel- or just that there is no time in the immaterium so their will can be executed whenever they want.

Put it this way.

Let's say that you have a pet T-Rex. You feed it every day. One day you decide to stop feeding it. Does the T-Rex immediately wither and die? No. The T-Rex proceeds to rip you to bloody shreds and probably kills all your neighbors too. It then proceeds to find a new source of (preferably warm and living) food.

The end.

Thus why Tzeentch is again the best Chaos God. He's an Atemporal being that understands causality.
