I did a search and the latest poll like this was almost 3 years ago. Much has changed since, the meta is different and as is people's choice of army.

I went with CSM.
It's the only complete army I have so far

Ultras, then WordBearers/Khornate, then SM Bikes

When 6th first dropped it was a 50/50 between Nids and Eldar. Then Eldar got a new codex and took over. Let's see Wyatt happens with the new Nid codex.

CSM so far, they're the most appealing army to me by a far margin. Depending on the 6th Edition Codex, I might start an IG detachment as a secondary army.

A hard time choosing between my Iron Hands and Dark Eldar, but overall, I think I use them more often.
They are also my largest army and they were my first army, so I've voted for them.

Before this morning it was Tyranids.

It is now definitely Space Wolves or IG.

Define primary? Is it the army you have the most of (orks) or the army you are currently playing most regularly (tau)?

Primary would be the army you always come back to, no matter what you dabble with elsewhere, I think.

3% already say Adepta Sororitas and only 69 people have voted. That's almost impressive.

I play my Tau and Space Marines equally I think but I said Tau was my primary because it's the army I focus on more.

And Redbeard, you can choose yourself what you deem 'primary army' to mean in your case.

If it's the one with the most primer showing, then I need to change my answer. In my case, that's orks!

I think a website named DakkaDakka tends to attract Ork players.

Also, no Grey Knights? Kind of a shame. seemed like they were very popular for awhile.

Tau then a toss up between CSM and IG

DA and Tau. I love them both for the look and the fluff, have since I started 40k.

I primarily use Dark angels but I have the SM codex.

Have been primarily CSM since I started but expanding into Daemons since I had an allied detachment.

My better half is ORKS IZ BEST.

Imperial Guard. The most unsubtle army using the most unsubtle tactics with the most unsubtle vehicles carrying the most unsubtle weapons. It really is a man's army.

Tau is my primary army and has been since I started in 2008 at the end of 4th edition, and right now my only army as I am waiting for Dark Eldar to be updated for 6th.

Space Marines because of it being my largest army and also the only one that's seen action against someone else's army.

Mono-Tzeentch Daemons, ever since day 1 of their 5th edition codex and became a true army unto themselves.

I do have some converted Bloodletters built from a kitbash of 'Letters + Beastmen Bestigors and some Slaanesh components, but my true love is for the Changer of the Ways!

I have most points of IG, but have played SM a lot more in recent months. My BA and DA only really come out as counts-as, themed armies, allies or an all-DW list in the case of DA. My GK hardly ever see play as they were deeded too powerful in 5th (I stopped using them as my opponents weren't enjoying playing them) and now I'd hesitate to use them as anything more than allies as the setup I have is far from effective (purifiers and paladins, 30 models in a 1500 game).

As for the one I've out most time into, certainly IG. If you count the hours I've spent painting 200+ guardsmen, writing fluff, short stories and tactics articles, and what I discuss the most on here, IG come out way ahead of the others. I think it's because, out of all my armies, they are the ones that are 'my own', rather than bound to specific fluff/playstyles. I've nothing at all against the pre-prescribed feel of playing a load of 1st Founding chapters, but IG are truly 'my' army.

Well, at the moment its Necrons, since Eldar is a bit overpowered if you ask me.
