Hello dakka, I am writing a small codex for the world eaters and I would like to have your help writing it. Especially the ones with a good knoledge of the old fluff. I will start with troops and advance the codex with time.


General rules:


Khornes blessing.

All the world eater units are blessed by the rage of Khorne which gives them the following special rules: furious charge, adamatium will, fearless and blood lust.


Blood lust.

Due to their rage all world eater units are extremely bloodlusty this gives them the special rule that if they are at the start of the controlling players assault phase within 6 inches of any enemy unit they must attempt to assault. However if there are multiple enemy units within 6 inches the controlling player can choose which unit to assault.


Rivalry between gods.

You may never have a unit from the codex world eaters in the same army with any slaaneshi unit. For example you may not take a chaos lord with mark of slaanes as allies. Othervise this codex follows the same allies matrix as the codex chaos space marines.


HQ

Blood lord 70 points per model

chainaxe, bolt pistol

escalating rage: for each kill this model does it gains an extra attack.
chosen of Khorne: increases the deny the which rols of the squad to 4+.

options:
May take a power weapon 10ppm
plasma pistol 5ppm
blassed armour(2+ save) 25ppm


Blood talker 70ppm

Chainaxe, boltpistol, frag and krak grenades

Mastery level 1

Knows all these powers which all last until the start of the next turn of the controlling player:

Fury: on a succesful cast the psyker and the unit receive 1+ strenght

Speed: on a succesfull cast the unit and the psyker may move immideately 6 inches regardles of other factors.

Hate: on a succeful cast the psyker may target one enemy unit within 24 inches. The unit targeted has -1 bs and cannot overwatch. Also the unit targeted loses all benefits gained by psysik powers.

options:
May take a power weapon 10ppm
plasma pistol 5ppm
blassed armour(2+ save) 25ppm

Troops

Coscript berserkers 15 points per model

Squad 10-20 berserkers

Chaiaxe and bolt pistol

In adddition to other special rules the berserkers can assault from any transport the same turn they disembark and they also have the special rule scout.

Options:

up to one flamer per 5 models. 5 ppm
up to one power weapon per 5 models. 10 ppm
may upgrade one model to veteran. +1a,ws and iniative. 5ppm

I'd highly recommend looking through the special rules already given for the World Eaters in the 30k world, in the two Horus Heresy rulebooks off Forgeworld. It'd give you a base to start from.

I believe there's a stipulation they always have to consolidate from any victory toward the nearest unit they can hurt. Stuff like that. Pretty fluffy. Not sure it'd be incredibly effective but that's rarely the point.

...wat. Khorne is pretty decidedly anti-psyker. The World Eaters librarius was basically killed off by their own legion during the Heresy, if I recall correctly. Short of the sort of work that cultists other worshipers must do to summon daemons and draw Khorne's attention in general, you aren't going to see any sorcery.

You could have Khornate Psykers that use their powers to summon Daemons or perform rituals.

I think the Chainaxe needs to change from the codex standard of strength (user) ap 4. I like the idea of it forcing a reroll of successful armour saves. You could give the champions a rule or upgrade that means that on the roll of a six to wound they inflict instant death or something. Basically like Skulltakers ability.

Give skull champions chainglaves with a lower AP.

This doesn't seem right from a narrative perspective if the Berzerkers fire their Bolt Pistols at them.
From a game play perspective I think it should be tuned down. -2 Ballistic Skill and No Overwatch? Otherwise this is going to make Space Wolves not Counter Attack, Dark Eldar Wyches don't get their dodge roll in melee, Eternal Warrior enemies will be killed by 1 powerfist attack, etc. That is utterly ridiculous.

Then there's the Ballistic Skill 3 across the board you have. This isn't necessary since every unit is using a pistol or other short ranged weapon. It might not make sense that they could fire a Sniper Rifle at BS4 but they don't have access to Sniper Rifles.

They get buff over normal Chaos but with no drawbacks? Now, if they had to charge every enemy within 12 inches, that's a drawback.

The Blood Lord is a buffed up Chaos Lord for the same price and the only downfall of having BS3 is negated by getting a Plasma Pistol for 5 points

The Sorcerer, well, we already know Khorne hates wizards, so lets move on.
I was going to complain about how strong he is for his points but he doesn't have a Force Weapon, so he's not actually that strong.

The reason these rules are better sometimes is, that the close combat pa marinees on c:csm are underpowered, so because this list lacks the things that csm powerful, the buff on close combat is necessary.

That actually sounds like a pretty cool power. A power I'm sure people with a big reliance of psykers would despise.

Belgium

Lord should srill be BS 5, after all he is a battle hardened Killer, no matter with what, he kills, so he is also a trained shooter.

Also add the restrictions that a World Eaters detachement can only be made of units/models with the mark of Khorne or no mark at all.

A Deamon prince that is a Daemon of Khorne, gets the rampage and Furious Charge USRs, he also have 2 CCWs.

Change the Psyker-thing to a Sanguinary priest like char, a WE Surgeon.

Wounds down to 2, cost 45pts a model, have a set of Surgecal tools and drugs who gives the unit he Joins Feel No Pain 5+ and friendly models in 8" of him gets the Rampage rule.

You can take 3 of these in one HQ slot, they must join different squads, they do not take a HQ slot in the FoC, they have acces to the special equipement( bikes, TDA, Jumpack etc).

One unit of Chosen can be taken has Bodyguards for a Lord or Kharn, the character joins the unit and the Character and unit count has ONE HQ slot in the FoC.

Chosen can ride Bikes, Steeds and get jumpacks if the Lord does have any of these, approriate cost to determine.

WE Terminators doesn't treat Power Axes has Unwieldy.

Zerkers units can have two members exchange their BoltPistol for a Plasma Pistol for +5pts or a Lightning claw for +15pts, they can exchange their CCW for a Power weapon for +10pts, a lightning claw for +15pts or an Eviscerator for +25pts

Rhinos taken in a WE detachement can be modified to be Open-topped for +10pts.

Helbrute, Defilers and Maulerfiends can buy the Destructor upgrade, they treat their CCW has Master-crafted.

A Vehicle that take or has the Daemonic possesion upgrade, can be Possesed by a Deamon of Khorne for an additional 10pts.
-They gain the Hate and Rampage USR.
-A Heldrake who is possesed by a Daemon of Khorne, reroll his Vector strike dice.

ONE Bike squadron of the detachement can exchange their bikes for Juggernauts for +15pts per models.
