So I like warrior models but the rules have never been great. Still I am trying to find a list that could work with warrior spam so here is the first go
HQ 190
Prime w/ AG, regen, lash whip and sword
Troop 1095
3 x 5 warriors AG, FH: 2 w/ rending claws and devourer, 2 stock, 2 x VC, 1 x BS
1 x 5 warriors AG, FH: 2 w/ whip and sword, 2 stock, 1 w/ VC
1 x 5 warriors AG, FH: 4 stock, 1 w/ BS
Elite 265
2 x 2 hive guard
1 vemonthrope
Heavy 300
2 x canifex with ST and Crushing claws and AG
So the plan would be to have everything fleet up the board taking shots as needed from the warriors. I am almost no existent on anti-tank and anti-air so that is a problem. However I have no synapse problems at all as I can cover the board in synapse. Not sure how much the single venom really helps but I put it in as its cheap. I would like to make this at least somewhat competitive (I know warriors are not competitive) so all comments are appreciated.

Okay so no one liked the first list.... I can work with that.
Round two
HQ 230
Flyrant w/ Double devourer
Troop 390
3 x 4 warriors 3 stock 1 w/ BS
Elite 265
2 x 2 hive guard
FA 400
2 x 20 gargoyles w/ AG and TS
Heavy 600
2 x canifex with ST and Crushing claws and AG
2 x dakkafexes
So this adds a lot more bodies and more shooting as well. Flyrant and gargoyles will go up quickly to tie up units and then warriors, hive guard and canifexes follow up as needed. What does the dakka think tank conclude about this list?

I do like this list a lot better, personally, over the first. That Flyrant is going to be target number one, though, and you've only got 12 T4 bodies for troops... seems like a bit of a liability there.

What would be your suggestion? Termiguants? I would like to avoid a horde list if possible but if more bodies are needed I can understand that.
What about changing the fexes and hive guard around to allow for more points in troops? Say drop the crushing claw fexes and 1 unit of hive guard?

Warriors are actually pretty strong in this codex. There are a few ways to go with them. 3 warriors stock with 1 cannon is a good cheap source of scoring and Synapse whilst adding range to the army. Or bigger units with Deathspitters and a Prime attached. I probably wouldn't bother with much CC upgrades for them get your CC power elsewhere.
They dovetail well with MC spam. Your opponent has two choice send his strength 8+ at your warriors knowing he can ID them or shoot the MCs with those weapons know that's his best chance to kill them. Whilst his standard S4 AI fire becomes very inefficient against either.
So take about 6-8 MCs (dakkafexes and Dakka Flyrants would be my choices) at this point then a bunch of warriors for troops. An Aegis for early game cover and a couple of Venomthropes to boost it and you're good. Something like this:

Only thing I like about Tyranid warriors is the 5 point adrenal glands, once they nerfed scything talons re-roll 1's and boneswords ignore armour the warriors got nerfed as well...

They got light nerfs in their options but are still a better choice then before due to the rest of the book changes. Flingitnow proposes a very good list, not sure about the venomcannons myself (dont see +2 str being as good as pinning + large blast from the Barbed strangler ) ADL seems silly but I guess coud be ok

I love the idea of making a warrior troop list, especially with a load of barbed stranglers!
I kinda feel with what scything talons are now it's crazy not to upgrade to rending claws on all of them. Really not liking what they did to talons!
Not sure if it's too expensive but I am pretty sure my warriors will be getting rending claws and deathspitters, plus as many barbed stranglers as I can fit in. Add in enough fex's and other MC and advance everything together and I think the opponent will struggle to take them all down.

Personally I see it as a toss up between VC and BS. Large blast and pinning is ace but you can do literally nothing to a mechanised army.
The ADL gets placed on the half way line to grant a 4+ cover to your army as it advances which the Venomthrope increases to a 2+
For warriors I say keep them cheap. They are a cheap source of 36" range stuff. Yes Deathspitters and Rending claws are good (as are flesh hooks) but the more expensive they are the more S8 firepower they will attract. For me Deathspitters are only worth it if you have spare points or a Prime joining the squad. Whilst Rending claws are for CC guys which I just don't think are worth it this edition. Look at my list literally everything except the warriors is Ap2 and S6+ I don't need or want the warriors fighting anything good.
Though looking at it I think I got confused as I wrote a 1750 list not 1850. You could either add another Warrior squad or Drop the ADL for another Dakkafex. Or add something else to taste for 100 points.

Barbed strangler isnt anti tank thats all, the MC pop the transport and the barbed stranglers pin the troops inside. the extra 100 points missing in your list could use some zoan for (semi) long range ant tank, maybe switching the lone dakkafex for an Exocrine, this would give you more points for fun stuff like 2 zoan and an extar warrior if you drop the ADL. or lictors or even likely hive guards could be good. Also if you like the Warriors then the close combat Shrikes actually got much better than before. They got 7pts cheaper per model (that's a lot) when equipped with rending claws (instead of devourer) and toxin sacs. They even gained an extra attack each (lost the re-rolls "1" to hit but I much prefer an extra attack) and given the venomthropes shrouding actually gained survivability (also would serve as a distraction to not shoot the venomthrope since both are a good choice for the opponents anti infantry gun). They are the only choice for synapse in fast attack and given the new instinctive behavior tables they are more important. As a recap the are cheaper, stronger, tougher and more important. I say this is a win.

Thank you for the discussion so far. What is everyones opinion on the following adaptation?
Flyrant w/ double devourer and shredder beetles 240
2 hive guard 110
2 x 5 warriors 4 deathspitters, BS 360

2 x 4 warriors 3 rending claws, VC 290
2 x 2 dakkafexes 600
aegis 50
I think this has a good deal of shooting and a little buff to CC. I like having the hive guard for the range (limited) anti-tank.
@Flingitnow I prefer have a heavy troop base in my lists. It has worked with the way I play better.
@fartherthanfar I just feel that shrikes are far to squishy with only a 5+ and as they are jump infantry they would be a priority and go down too quickly.

I don't like the Thorax Swarm when you've got 2 guns particularly as you could roll a third on the Psychic table making it 4 with the swarm. Toxin for rerolls would be a better spend of 10 points IMHO.
I think Venomthropes would be better than Hiveguard and give you 2+ cover with the ADL. The increase in points coupled with the decrease in Bs has really hurt them. Get AT from Devourers, Tfexes and Zoans.
Dropping to 6 units of 3 warriors nets you enough points for a 2nd Dakka Flyrant and still gives you lots of troops.

Is the second flyrant really necessary? I can agree with venoms instead of the hive guard. But does having the one extra flyrant equal out the extra warriors. I am not quite sure

A flyrant is insanely better than Warriors. the only problem is you are limited on how many you can take and that they arent scoring. still have to mention that barbed strangler is a much better option than venom cannon, for anti tank the flyrant is worth 12 teams of warriors with venom cannon. Deathspiters are not worth their points unless you fight dark eldars all the time, and even then....

Yes the 2nd Flyrant is important. Not only is he amazing as a unit. But he's also important for target Saturation. 2 Flyrants will achieve more in one game than 1 will achieve in 2 games.
