Has a bit more nuts to it than GW's attempt. Not saying that GW's Zombie Dragon is pants though. I actually quite like the model but this looks like the thing that ate it...
Now it needs a rotting rider sitting on a bone throne on its back .

I'm going to be terrified to paint these things. I am nowhere near good enough to do these models justice. I need to practice so hard over the next several months.

I am looking forward to doing some painting vids here from the studio once I have the first models in my hands. There are a lot of videos of experts painting which can be really inspiring, but my style can be fairly caveman and is perhaps useful to the every-painter.
- basecoat
- inkwash
- drybrush
I actually do a LOT of dry brushing. I got some tricks to prevent it from getting glommy and too thick. Cant wait to hit is with that ink wash and really show off the detail. Even the few models I have painted here at home have been very clear and enjoyable.

Behold the Zombie Dragon! 1 comment Like 1 like
This creature is a real joy to sculpt, and should be absolutely epic when finished. Vince and I have been working on this a while and I am glad to share with you his talents as well.
Zombie Dragon comes with a howdah, allowing you to use your own miniatures to represent the rider, and also comes with a saddle if you prefer to model your dragon riders in a seated position. The countersunk recess on his back is 20mm by 20mm.
We will be unveiling the Treewoman unlocks soon, and we even get a sneak peak silhouette at the next demon.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I talk a little bit about the Facebook concept art and how that will be applied to the Zombie Dragon as well. He is a work in progress, and will get a lot more zombie'ish

And I'll probably want whatever that silhouette of the next thing is...

I wish I had the funds to go BIG on this, unfortunately I just redid the gaming area and bought a compressor and new airbrush. I might be able to get more than my early bird silver (pincer demon most likely) as I really want a tree walker and spider demon. But the anger demon is also looking great, especially the pictures without the horns added, as others have said it looks very ape like .
The following spoilered is just what I'm thinking of doing with the models and not part of the kickstarter so hidden not to derail the thread
Spoiler:
The problem I have with getting a spider demon is the same that's kept my Juan Diaz daemonette horde untainted for so many years. They are wonderfull models, BUT I have an 11 year old daughter, and twins that are 9 years old. I don't want them seeing these and start asking all sorts of strange questions , I'm not ready for those yet. The tree walker I can handle because it can be painted up to hide the feminine parts, or at least not call attention to them, where the spider demon just has everything hanging out there. I think the spider demon would "look" better with the army, but once again they haven't seen the light of day in years.
The pincer demon I'm thinking of building a water based army around it. It will be the centerpiece as that's what these are intended to be, and then I will try my hand at sculpting new models. I was thinking of mermen/women as slaanesh deamonettes, and some on seahorses for the cavalry, and either a Moray eel or electric eel to be the mount for a lord.
Khorne demons could be crab riders(angry/crabby ) for juggernaughts, maybe a lobster to be a soulgrinder, and manta rays for screamers duh.
Any other suggestions would be welcome via pm .
I have never sculpted before so this idea may be dead in the water before it starts, but ideas are always welcome.

I'm personally glad we're not getting another "fat, bloated plague demon". There's so many of them in the aftermarket compared to how many thinner plague demons there are. Not to mention that I'm pretty sure Jeremy got in trouble with GW when they were doing Ultraforge; specifically for the greater plague demon.
Way to go Jeremy, maybe GW will take notice and offer you a job

So he would be able to do the demons without having to worry about getting a cease and desist letter for infringement. Plus if GW ever did pull it's head from its oversized posterior maybe instead of hitting great talent with said paperwork they could go back to the really old days and give third party companies the right to make game models for the like the old armorcast reaver, warhound, wave serpent, exocrine etc. it's nice to own your own company but as Jeremy has spoken about his respect of their products and rights that would be a great honor I believe. Also it doesn't mean that he would have to take it, but it would be nice to see as an offering and as bragging rights. I still want him to have his creative freedom and all, but there's no doubting that any connection to a major player such as GW would give him more exposure in the gaming world. Sometimes we forget that just because we saw it here on dakkadakka, it doesn't mean that the rest of the industry is aware of it. After all why does GW still get internet sales when there are great online sellers at big discounts? Because there's always new people that can't do enough research, or aren't connected yet to know.

They have no need to do that these days - Forge World does it in-house, which is why Armorcast are now a small manufacturer of scenery elements and the old Forge World company who did the same as Armorcast no longer exists.

Good sculptors leave the abysmal working atmosphere of the GW design studio (like Juan Diaz), not join it.
Those famous dragon sculptors who did join, are now sculpting HH Space Marine shoulder pads in piecework.
And nobody is save from GW C&D letters as long as GW still claims Wood Elves and grenade launchers being their invention.

That's a bit extreme. Aragorn Marks started working for them fairly recently. I think working for GW can be a real boost to one's CV, and a good springboard to working for other large games companies (WotC, FFG) or even media companies (ie Blizzard, et al). However, it's not quite the only game in town as it once was - but it's still the biggest game in our little town.
As a long-term proposition, I don't think it's likely a great gig great unless you're one of the old guard who are by now grandfathered into a lot of seniority and pull, like Blanche, Merrit, Jervis, Jes ...and not many others, with the departure of Priestly, etc.
I am going to be chatting with the Painting Buddha himself. Will be talking about the DVD, showing some ideas I had this morning for the Treewalker, plus some finals touches I am doing on the never-before-seen 1000th backer Plague Angel.
