This isn't a rage quit. I was hoping for a good reason to stay with this. I went in for the Gold but should have gone for the Demons. I really don't have a use for miniatures this big. I mainly play RPG.

Not being very familiar with P&P RPGs, how can something be too big in such an abstract game environment?

You have a good point. Maybe I'm looking for an excuse to get out. What is P&P?

If nothing else they would make for great centerpiece idols for false gods if you use minis and a map. Just build a cult around one of these demons for your game world and this can be representing the aspect of the god in the temple. Or have your campaign world be ruled by one of these cults and your characters are out to discredit/show the true horrors of this religion. The "evil" god can imbue these artifacts with power and "life" so the party runs into this model quite frequently. Or the party's main antagonis is just really huge. Recall the old 1980s d&d cartoon and how often Tiamat showed up. These dragons to me are betters scaled(in multiple ways) than the old dragon figures I had from way back.

In the end can you afford it? Can you use it or enjoy looking at it sitting in your cabinet? And lastly can you explain to your wife why you bought it without "well you buy all those shoes!" Coming out of your mouth. If not then withdraw your pledge, it's cheaper than a divorce lawyer or a proctologist to remove the dragon when you use the above line .

Wait, those are the official models, how could they possibly be too big? We keep hearing all the time how Forgeworld and GW are the same company... FW models are totally usable as Greater Daemons, and Creature Caster's actually fit on the correct base size much better than even FW's do.

@Theophony: You are truly a wise soul. To be honest my wife is getting a little fed up with KSers. I have to be careful what I get into and make sure it's worth a divorce. I'm still on the fence with this one. Don't get me wrong, the value is there and the quality is there. So is the cool factor. Man, I need to stop , I'm about to talk myself into this.

It's just a joke idea from the comments, I really doubt it's going to be the free model, personally! Creature Caster has said the free model is "fun", larger than 28mm but smaller than the models in the campaign. But I think it will still be something useful, personally (everything else he has made is).

I think I'll be painting my Mountain Dragon a bit like this..
For those of you not familiar with the character, his name is Bryagh from Flight of Dragons. If you've not seen this animated movie- look for it on YouTube. Brilliant voice acting (including a certain gentleman who later went to voice Darth Vader )

Hmmm....Canadian Chimera.

Tail and one beaver head. Body and wings of a goose. Other heads of a caribou and a polar bear.

That'd be hilarious.

Flight of the dragons is awesome. Had that on VHS and watched it probably a hundred times as a kid.

Flight of Dragons is indeed an amazing film.

I especially enjoy the fact that it convincingly explains how Dragons can achieve flight and breathe fire. Pretty deep for a kid's movie...

The pic of the Canadian chimera from the comments section of the KS. Done by Lee c. I believe, it was someone's suggestion and a bunch of us ran with it. It's shown in one of the videos and Jeremy really got a kick out of it. There was talk about each wave that Jeremy does should have a chimera from around the world.

Anyway....
Tail of the beaver, heads of a caribou, wolf and polar bear. Wings were not settled in the pic, but optional saddle for the Canadian Mountie. And of course a maple leaf and beer.

I think it's trying to not draw attention to itself, it is surrounded by carnivorous predators after all.

I wish there was a bundle for 2 Golds and a Bronze because I'd be all over it. I'm wanting the Possessed Dragon as it hearkens directly to Dark Souls (actual boss spoiler if you haven't played):

Spoiler:

I think I did poop a little when I first met that guy...

I'm thinking Possessed Dragon + XXXX Dragon + Treewalker. I don't foresee having armies to use them in. Maybe if Bretonnia gets a Dragon? All I can think of is a diorama of a lone knight squaring off against the Possess Dragon in a Dark Souls~ish theme.

I really hope he gets the "Riderless" option. I have no interest in having a dude mount that thing.

Thing is, I am still going to give out whatever free model I want, even at the risk of sounding callous. It is my way to thank the backers. It was never supposed to be perceived as an incentive. I really should have waited until the end of the campaign to let people know, but you live you learn.

I want to genuinely thank everyone here on Dakka for being amazing, especially those who helped share information, keep things on track, quell rebellions, etc. Tomorrow I will be doing another Google hangout, this time a little earlier in my time zone (12 noon Pacific time, LA, Vancouver) and I will thank you there as well, plus we can talk about some cool stuff. I will post links here and on the Kickstarter comment section plus the Facebook as well.

I have gotten a few requests for a signature banner that you can use to help us promote our campaign. Thank you very much for your support.

I would not wish it any other way.
That said I would love to see the Canadian chimera at one point. I like the idea of an chimera made out of the non traditional parts, and the wolf/bear/moose/beaver mix could be quite cool.

Oh and thank you for making the treewoman

Have the moose/caribou head a bit Preyton like, the Wolf a bit Dire Wolfish and the Bear er... what do they have for that? Beaver maybe some sort of spiked paddle tail. For wings maybe have a some sort of vestigial Loonie wings (google it, Loonies are printed on their $1 coins)

Because in my opinion they're too big - for what I'd want?

Are are you legislating opinions now too?!?

Anyway, I dropped my silver pledge yesterday - these models are just too big for what I'd want, but this campaign is alrready wildly successful, so congrats to CC!

I'll be at the dentist when that hang out happens. Darn kids needing check ups and braces, think of all the models I could have with no dentist bills, I think my kids would look cute without teeth.

Possessed dragon upgrades were posted. The tongue looks like it will be really awesome, as does the riderless kit for him. Super stoked about this model!
