The Devastator squad box seems to come with 8 weapon options, GW also do a box of 3 marines, which are "Push Fit".
Obvious question, with a bit of modelling skills and green stuffing, would you be able to get all the extra heavy weapons mounted on the "Push Fit" marines?

I would very much think so. Shouldn't even be too hard. Just saw the arms right off the push fits. The heavy weapons, I think all have their own arms attached. You might need to source a new pad for the left shoulder, but you've probably got a few of these kicking around.
A decent idea. Even if you just use some of the extras for spares to swap around you're tactical squad heavy weapons.
A bit of green stuff filling. But the heavy weapons will hide most of the cuts/bad bits.

I dont know much about marines but wouldn't it be better to use the push fit ones as normal guys and use the box with the weapons as the special guys? In other words opposite to the way you plan?
Thats what id do using guard if i used GW models.

The push fit marines come in very static poses. Might need some above average green stuff moulding techique.
I reckon the closest you can use for the push fit marine is the sergeant but why would anyone wanna use a static marine as a sarge?
Might be better to use the devastatirs for the heavy weapons and the push fits for the squad members that you didnt buy the heavy weapons for.

Thats what i mean... would be far easier.

I don't know what the Push Fit's look like. I'm assuming they are like the Dark Angels in Dark Vengeance?

With modeling skills and green stuff anything is possible. But that’s entirely up to the skill of the person doing the work. My recommendation to anyone is to save up and buy the full 10 man squad. You price per marine is low, you get all sorts of extra bits (like all the special weapons) and even if you don’t need all the bodies now, having extra power armor guy kicking around is always a good thing.
10 man @ $40, $4/marine
5 man @ $25, $5/marine
3 man @ $10, $3.33/marine
And the sculpts get older as you get less in the box. The 10 man squad is brand new, the 5 man half the last tac box, and who knows how old the push-fits are. If the price to marine is an issue, you could probably sell bits out of the box to recoup the cost. Grav guns are still in short supply I’d imagine, and the new tac box is one of only two places to get them.

I didnt go quite that far to save money although it is an idea that may work. I just bought an extratactical box to fit the extra heavy weapons onto and instead of making troopes out of the tac marines left, I put a special weapon on each of them from the tac box.

I second this, the push fit marines are not at all easy to extensively convert.

It is doable (I've done a fair few push-fit conversions), but I wouldn't recommend it unless you've got a lot of experience in modelling. You'll need a small saw to get the arms off, the heads are a little hard to repose, and you might need extra shoulder pads.
Your best option to make the most of the extra heavies is to just save them and add them to tactical squads at a later date. You don't get any heavies bar the ML in the tac squad box, so it's always handy to have a spare lascannon or plasma cannon around.
If you are set on getting 2 dev squads out of the box and also to minimised expense and waste, then the best bet is to just grab one of the old 5-man half-squads of tacs and put them on there. The last edition of the tactical squad is only marginally less detailed and varies than the current one, and you can save money over buying another dev box. The push-fit ones are just too much work really.
