Oh god... Given the way BL has been going recently I really fell for that.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

To celebrate 30 years of Space Marines, we've compiled a list of the top 30 Warhammer 40,000 Space Marines from Black Library stories.

Well, we tried: we actually came up with so many that we couldn’t fit them all in a list of 30!
Who’s your favourite Space Marine from a Black Library tale?

https://www.blackgate.com/2016/03/29/win-a-copy-of-the-emperors-railroad-first-book-of-the-dreaming-cities-by-guy-haley/

Two weeks ago we had a look at Tor.com‘s impressive catalog of recent fantasy titles, and gave away free copies of each of their March releases. Today, we’d like to do something just as exciting: give you a chance to win one of three advance copies of Guy Haley’s new novella The Emperor’s Railroad, the opening installment of a terrific new adventure fantasy series, The Dreaming Cities.
What’s it about? Zombies! City States! Prehistoric beasts! Mutants and machine relics! Check out this awesome description.
Global war devastated the environment, a zombie-like plague wiped out much of humanity, and civilization as we once understood it came to a standstill. But that was a thousand years ago, and the world is now a very different place.
Conflict between city states is constant, superstition is rife, and machine relics, mutant creatures and resurrected prehistoric beasts trouble the land. Watching over all are the silent Dreaming Cities. Homes of the angels, bastion outposts of heaven on Earth. Or so the church claims. Very few go in, and nobody ever comes out.
Until now…
How do you win a copy? Easy! Just send an e-mail to john@blackgate.com with the subject “The Emperor’s Railroad.” That’s all it takes! Three winners will be drawn at random from all qualifying entries, and each will receive one of our precious advance proofs.
All entries become the property of New Epoch Press. No purchase necessary. Must be 12 or older. Decisions of the judges (capricious as they may be) are final. Not valid where prohibited by law, or anywhere postage for a trade paperback is more than, like, 10 bucks (practically, that means US only).
The Emperor’s Railroad will be published by Tor.com on April 19, 2016. It is 177 pages, priced at $12.99 in trade paperback and $2.99 for the digital edition. The cover is by Chris McGrath.
Quinn returns in The Ghoul King, to be be published by Tor.com on July 12, 2016. It is 176 pages, priced at $12.99 in trade paperback and $2.99 for the digital edition. The cover is by Chris McGrath. Here’s the description:
The Knight, Quinn, is down on his luck, and he travels to the very edge of the civilized world – whatever that means, any more – to restock his small but essential inventory.
After fighting a series of gladiatorial bouts against the dead, he finds himself in the employ of a woman on a quest to find the secret to repairing her semi-functional robot.
But the technological secret it guards may be one truth too many…
Thanks to Tor.com for making the contest possible! For more details on Tor.com‘s entire novella line, check out their online catalog:

I gave this a go Sadly the postage cost apparently make mailing a 'win' to the UK impossible, but he did say he's look into the possibility of a digital version if I did win (so if you're only interested in a print version you probably need to be in the USA)

Well I just started the Beasts Arises series. And I'm really enjoying I Am Slaughter. Definitely a different and interesting Imperium. It's good enough I'll get the second book. I do wish they weren't the equivalent of less than 200pgs once you set aside the font size and type set but it's a minor gripe.

Gathering the Informations.

THE STORY
It is the 41st millennium, and an upstart alien empire has emerged on the Eastern Fringe. After a few skirmishes to retake human worlds from these blue-skinned invaders, the time has come to strike against the so-called Tau Empire. At the forefront of the Damocles Crusade stand the Ultramarines, commanded by Captain Atheus, the Chapter’s Lord Executioner. With his loyal sergeants Numitor and Sicarius by his side, Atheus vows to exterminate the aliens… But the cunning xenos commanders, Farsight and Shadowsun, have other plans.

READ IT BECAUSE
It's a look at an early encounter between the Tau and the Imperium, shown from both sides. See how both races view each other, through the eyes of some of their greatest heroes as they clash over the fate of a world. Plus, it's a rare chance to see Farsight when he was still loyal to the Ethereals and fighting alongside Shadowsun.

I can actually see limited editions working for these, fans of a particular Legion can get the specific ones they like.

They should scrap them for the Heresy, just means people are waiting ages in some cases for a reasonably priced version of something to fill in the gaps. I've still not read of the Tallarn arc due to the main part of that being a limited edition.

"We are the Red Sorcerers of Prospero, damned in the eyes of our fellows, and this is to be how our story ends, in betrayal and bloodshed. No...you may find it nobler to suffer your fate, but I will take arms against it."

... One worries what Perturabo's one will be written on, and if it'll rust ?

Might be some heading issues with Ferrus' one, whilst Russ' one smells awful if you get it wet.

There will be regular/non collectible versions of these a short time after the special editions go on sale.

And BL said, via FB that the legacy/MMPB version of Deathfire will be on sale end of this/start of next month.

I'm actually more excited for the "Primarchs" series than for the rest of the 'proper' HH stuff.

I'd rather we get those stories, and more on the beginnings of the Emperor's rise to power and the early stages of the Great Crusade than...just about anything else BL might put out.
