What's going on in this thread, has the HH actually moved towards Terra in the last year?

Officially and unofficially, yes. This last arc, called The Gauntlet, kicked off with AoC but the past 2 books have...touched upon it. We have 2-3 years of numbered books at least to go, but the final wrap-ups of imp secundus and ruinstorm are moving now to the Sol system and however the final siege will be. BL held some HH content last year because of BaC box game and now we are getting the promised 2016 Year of Heresy. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
I do hope we eventually get a numbered book count down.

Given the size of the terminator armor relative to Calgar's head I don't see how his arms would be long enough to get his hands in the power fists so I'm just believing that he's more of a dreadnought pilot in a mecha suit than a super soldier in power armor, which makes throwing the punch easier to do.

Depends what era of Calgar. He lost his arms and legs during the battle of maccragge. When he got the armor of Antilles, he had already lost his appendages. The pic looks like the armor of Antilles because that's the termite armor.

Oh look, at least 3 omnibuses (is that the plural of omnibus?) of stuff I've already got. Yip...eee.

As for 2016 being the "Year of Heresy", not if you only buy them in MMPB format. At the rate they're going - still waiting for Book 32 Deathfire - my 'Year of Heresy' will be 2018. I've not bought 31 books in their original format to change now.

The third novel in The Horus Heresy: Primarchs series, a brand new sequence of novels focused on the superhuman sons of the Emperor.

Lord of the mystical and uncanny, Magnus the Red has long studied the ancient crafts of sorcery. A psyker without peer, save only for the Emperor himself, he commands his loyal followers of the Thousand Sons Legion in the Great Crusade, always vigilant for any lost knowledge they might recover from the remains of dead human civilisations. Now, fighting alongside his brother Perturabo of the Iron Warriors, Magnus begins to foresee an approaching nexus of fate. Will he remain true to their mutual aims, or divert his own efforts towards furthering his own mastery of the warp?

As Chapter Master of the Ultramarines, he leads one of the most prestigious and powerful Space Marine Chapters devoted to the defence of Mankind. In him, the blood of the Primarch Guilliman runs still. When Calgar receives a summons to the world of Zalidar he is unaware, as are the world's inhabitants, that it is under attack by the Ork Warlord Brug. When his vessel is shot down, Calgar and his Honour Guard must trek across Zalidar's jungle through ork-held territory to reach the city of Zalathras. A terrible siege ensues against a vast greenskin horde. Only Calgar can hope to prevail against such odds in a brutal conflict that gives rise to a legend that will last for eternity...

Shrike has fought and bested many foes, but one in particular, the Ork Warlord Gorkrusha, dogged him throughout many campaigns. The untold origin story of Chapter Master Dante of the Blood Angels, one of the Imperium's greatest heroes.

Dante is Chapter Master of one of the noblest but most troubled Chapters of Space Marines in the Imperium: the Blood Angels. From the time of his birth in the rad-scarred wastes of Baal Secundus, he was destined for glory and strife. From his apotheosis to Scout, to the hive cities of Armageddon and the alien menace of the Cryptas system, Dante has waged war against all the enemies of the Imperium. He has witnessed the divine, and struggled against the darkness within all sons of Sanguinius. Longer lived than any other Chapter Master, this is his chronicle, his great and storied legend

As the Horus Heresy gathers pace, the Raven Guard primarch Corax and the remnants of his once mighty Legion now wage an entirely different kind of war – liberating worlds oppressed by the traitor forces.

After Isstvan, after Deliverance, the Raven Guard still endure. Their primarch Corvus Corax has rallied countless warriors to his banner, striking back at the forces of the Warmaster on every front – from the degenerate hereteks of the Mechanicum to the cruel legionaries of the Sons of Horus, none shall escape his wrath. But although Corax has managed to stall the physical corruption of his own Space Marines, what of their spirit? And what sinister end must await those who dwell forever in the darkness? This anthology contains all of Gav Thorpe’s tales of the Raven Guard in the Horus Heresy – the novellas Soulforge and Ravenlord, along with the short stories ‘The Shadowmasters’, ‘The Value of Fear’ and ‘Raptor’. Also included is the brand new novella Weregeld, bringing Corax’s legend to its grim conclusion.

The mighty Warlord Titans of the Adeptus Titanicus go to war against the forces of Chaos.

The Battle Titans of the Adeptus Titanicus are towering war engines, striding to war as holy effigies of the Omnissiah, and the mighty Warlord Titans are the most renowned among all the forces of the Imperium of Man. Their weapons bring righteous death to the alien and the heretic alike, and the merest glimpse of them on the march has stalled entire planetary rebellions. But as the galaxy burns before the rampaging hordes of Chaos, it will take more than any one single Titan Legion to hold the line.

last few of The Beast Arises series ;

#10
Spoiler:

Koorland, the last son of Dorn, finally confronts the Beast in battle.

The first attempt to attack the orks’ home world has failed, but the Imperium is not defeated yet. New, more flexible fighting teams of Adeptus Astartes have been assembled – the Death Watch. Allies from the Imperium’s past have also pledged their support – the legendary Sisters of Silence, female warriors with anti-psyker powers. With new troops, and revised tactics, Koorland leads a second attack against the orks’ home world. This time, the attack goes better, and Koorland is able to confront the Beast in battle. But the creature is truly a monster, more than a match for even a primarch. How can the last son of Dorn possibly prevail?

#11

Spoiler:

For mankind to survive, a last-ditch attempt to destroy the ork menace must succeed.

The Imperium’s attempts to defeat the ork menace seem doomed to failure; it is only a matter of time before the greenskins triumph, and mankind is wiped from the face of galactic map. Yet there is some cause for hope – the Imperial Fists Chapter is reformed, and a few Sisters of Silence yet survive. Supported by the full military might and technology of the Adeptus Mechanicus, the Space Marines head to the orks’ home world one final time. This time there will be no retreat, no surrender. They must succeed… or die in the attempt.

#12
Spoiler:

Subterfuge and assassination bring this thrilling series to an end.

Despite the odds, the Imperium has triumphed. The orks have been defeated and the Great Beast is no more. Across the length and breadth of the galaxy, humankind celebrates its salvation, and relishes the prospect of a return of peace. But the war against the orks has riven the political bedrock of the Imperium, exposing its rotten core. One man, one powerful man, decides he has the solution, and launches a campaign of destruction so terrible that thousands of years later his actions will still be viewed with horror. And all the while, the true enemy watches and waits in the starless depths of space; an eternal evil that desires only to devour the souls of every living human soul in the galaxy.

.. I think "The Beast" is bigger than any of the ork models produced by GW isn't it ?

http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/The_Beast

The Beast was perhaps the largest Ork Warboss ever encountered, which in Ork society denoted his power, prestige, and lethality. Said to be the size of a hab-block, The Beast made even Nobs appear as mere children in his presence and his mouth was filled with tusks the size of tree trunks.[2a]
In transmissions intercepted by the Imperial military, the warboss referred to himself in Orkish terms that defied exact translation into High Gothic, but roughly equivalent to "beast", "I am slaughter", or "lord who will bring great slaughter."[2b]

Thanks for the tips. I had read the 'hab-block' description and felt it would get impractical gamewise

I think this or one from the Kromlech range would be okay, but I want to use some official art to base it on as it is part of the fun

Spoiler:

Warcraft figures (3.5"?) would be more appropriate I guess.
