I think Testor's Acrylics have some lines of paint like that. (Not the nasty enamal paints you see in alot of hardwear and draft stores.)

But I'm not 100% I've seen do many people ruin modles with that gross enamal stuff they make, so haven't given them much thought.

FW Alpha Legion Paint Scheme:

1. AIRBRUSH WITH THINNED LEAD BELCHER/ IRON BREAKER (50/50 MIX)
2. AIRBRUSH FROM TOP OF MODEL WITH THINNED RUNFANG STEEL
3. MIX A LITTLE TAMIYA CLEAR GREEN WITH TAMIYA CLEAR BLUE (25/75 MIX) AND AIRBRUSH OVER THE MODEL IN 2 COATS
4. AIRBRUSH ARMOUR PANELS WITH TAMIYA CLEAR BLUE. BLENDING FROM MIDDLE OF FIGURE DOWN, SO THE STRONGEST BLUE COLOUR IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PANNELS
5. AIRBRUSH FROM THE MIDDLE UPWARDS WITH TAMIYA CLEAR GREEN
6. USING AN AIRBRUSH BLEND A HIGHLIGHT ON THE HIGHEST PANNELS (HEAD, SHOULDER PADS, TOP OF BACKPACK) WITH RUNEFANG STEEL WITH A TINY AMOUNT OF LOTHERN BLUE, EXTREMELY THINNED DOWN.
7. APPLY THINNED COAT OF TAMIYA CLEAR BLUE OVER THE HIGHLIGHT AND BLEND INTO THE SURROUNDING AREA.
8. USING A BLUE GLAZE, DRAG DOWN THE WHOLE MODEL ALLOWING IT TO SETTLE IN THE DEEPEST AREAS.
9. SILVER – BASECOAT WITH LEADBELCHER
10. WASH WITH NULN OIL
11. HIGHLIGHT WITH LEADBELCHER IN STRIKING MOTIONS TO CREATED CHIPPED AND WEATHER APPEARANCE
12. HIGHLIGHT WITH IRONBREAKER

It almost looks like metallic automotive paint. There was a knight titan at my local GW last weekend that was done up with it and it looked really sharp.

Gah! Damn you Forgeworld! Damn you! I've tried so hard to avoid FW but the level of awesome is too damn high! Come the release, I may be forced to pawn my soul part with some cash for these guys. I have to say, I'm quite liking Keith Robertson's take on the Salamanders recently. I'm not sure how I'll fit these and the Pyroclasts into a 40K army, but these are too epic to pass up!

Agreed - may be that I have to get some Tigrus bolters and mix a few of these in as they look great! It's just a shame FW doesn't do mixed bolter or armour packs - they'd be great for 40K armies (Looking more like various 'relics' instead of just a full 40K squad in 30K armour)

I would love to see a mix pack like that for 40K. Say a "Relic wargear" pack. And while they are at it, maybe a mix pack of various shoulder pad to make a "Deathwatch kill team" upgrade set.

I thought airbrushing with metallics was generally considered a bad idea?

So far as an airbrush newbie, I've had a lot better luck airbrushing with boltgun metal than I have with normal snot green. Learning curve I suppose, but the metallic turns out fine, while the solid color gives me a rougher texture.

I love that there is finally a nearly full-fledged Mechanicum army. I mean, they've really been racing to it as of late, and here we are.

Weird science, ahoy!

This is consistent with what I've heard too...I think I might have heard something about ALpharius being in there before Vulkan though.

I can't wait to see Kurze. I've never been a nightlords fan but I've always thought Kurze was a cool primarch...in a sadistic killer kind of way

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but there's apparently a really nice piece of art of a non-helmeted Alpharius in the book:

Spoiler:

He's actually stunningly close to how I pictured him when reading the Heresy books. I don't remember them mentioning a hydra tattoo in any of the books but it's a nice touch, I think. Not to mention, we can't be sure the pictured figure is Alpharius.

That is Armillus Dynat, but since we are told a number of times in fluff (needs citation but as far as I remember this has always been part of the fluff) all of the Alpha Legion look like Alpharius, so besides the tattoo that is more or less what their primarch looks like
