So as promised I show my Rebel Grot army. Due to the large size of the pictures, I spoilered them not to fill your screen all at once. I painted these at table-top quality so please be gentle

The history of the Grots will be posted in the Fiction part of the forum, in a few hours. I will link it here when I finished that. This will explain the Russian influences in 40k. Fluff is up Here.

The manufacturers' homepages which I used to make this army are here; MaxMini , Basicks , Olley's Armies, Puppets War and Kromlech. i think everyone knows how to get to the Games Workshop site

First things first, the Warboss.

Lowsnik Greenshanks, riding his Cyboar and accompanied by his trusty Dachshund known only as "The Friend".

The miniature is made using a GW Red Gobbo, a Warmachine boar and an Olley's Armies Dachshund.

Spoiler:

Second is the Grots' Mek, Ivan Stanismek.

This miniature was made using a GW MEkboy with a simple Basicks Soviet Goblin head-swap.

Spoiler:

Next up his another Boss, Dmitry Kyll.

This miniature was made using a GW Kommando Nob, with a Basicks Soviet Goblin head-swap. the vulture is from an unknown to me at the moment manufacturer.

Spoiler:

Next up. The Elite section.Let us start with the MegaNobz.

These are made using GW Ork arms with Power Klaws combined with AT-43 (thanks Platuan4th!) bodies. Quite simple actually, and a lot cheaper than GW Meganobz (these were made before Kromlech's not-MegaNobz)

Spoiler:

We also have some Loota's. 2 Squads to be exact. The first one is made from Malifaux Goblins of the Bayou, with some Maxmini Tommygun swaps. The second squad is made from GW Ratlings and led by a Scibor Dwarven German "Nob" with a Maxmini Sniper Rifle on his back.

Spoiler:

Last, but not least are the Kommandos. Led by Slav Snikski (counts as Snikrot).

Slav is made using the GW Head Honcho with a green-stuffed baret. The Kommandos are standar Basicks Soviet Goblins with GW Gretchin/Imperial Guard hands/weapons.

Spoiler:

So that concludes the first section. In the next post I will post the Troops, Fast Attack and Heavy Support.

Thanks for watching and see you soon!

Kind regards,

Low

So next up is the Troops section.

I made an overall shot of the Shoota Boyz (80) and Slugga Boyz (10). Following that are some details of the units itself. I can post 15 Grotz who all look the same, or take some samples to get a general idea. i decided on the latter.

The soldiers are made using Basicks Soviet Goblins bodies and heads. They are armed with Maxmini AK's, Heavy Machine Guns and Miniguns. The Rokkit Launchers are from GW Orks. The banners are green stuffed. The points on their helmets are used to differentiate the different army groups. I put a detailed picture at the end. Thing is, they all have three pins on their helmet. The first squad will have one silver pin, the second 2 silver pins and so on. Colours change so that you can make more than 3 squads.

The Nobz are made from Basicks Soviet Orks, a Kromlech Pilot and an Avatars of War Goblin King (with Basicks Soviet cap and green-stuffed longcoat). Can you spot the Chinese Grot?

Spoiler:

Detail of Squad Marking;

Next up; The Gretchin. Also known as Snotlings, they need to be kept in line by Grot Slavers.

The Gretchin are regular GW Gretchin. The Slavers are made using Basicks Soviet Goblin bodies (commanders) with Dark Elf whip and Gretchin/Imperial Guard hands/weapons.

Spoiler:

Lastly in this section; The Trukk. I have only one but plenty of Battlewagons so no need for more.

Spoiler:

With the Troops done, time for the Fast Attack.

I will show you Deffkopta's made from Robogear mixed with GW Deffkoptas and Basicks Soviet Goblins pilots.

Spoiler:

In this section there are also 20 Stormboyz, led by Natascha Kohlenkov (counts as Zagstruk). They are made using Maxmini Jetpacks, GW Gretchin/Imperial Guard hands/weapons and Gretchin feet (yes, they actually have feet). The bodies and heads are all from Basicks Soviet Goblins. The Nob is a Warmachine Trollblood with GW Power Klaws (to represent the Klawed feet of Zagstruck).

Spoiler:

Finally there are 2 planes. I don't know in which section they belong, but my guess is Fast Attack. First one is based on a F18, using only GW Fighta parts. The second one is a FIghta-Bomma, based on a German Junkers Ju87B-2 (Stuka). It is made from a regular GW Fighta Bommer only the wings have been extended using parts from an Airfix Stuka (1:48 scale) model, as well as the landing gear and siren up front.

Spoiler:

Heavy support in third post.

Kind regards,

Low

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Finally the Heavy Support section.

I have 5 Battlewagons all made from the original GW kit. I found that the Imperial Guard's Basilisk Gun, fits perfectly into the back of a Battlewagon. Looks great too, imho.

I only posted one Stompa, Named "Stalinkov" (hence the moustache), but I have another one (and another still in the sprue)..

Spoiler:

Come to think of it, I might need to touch up the wagons and Stompa. Damn big pictures

Next up are the Killa Kans. I bought these to make a Kan Wall (that is why they are 9), but knowing my regular opponent (Eldar) dreads armour 14, they are actually gathering dust (all 5th edition mind you).

There are 6 Second Edition, metal Kans and led by three modern, plastic Kans which have Olley's Armies' Dwarves in them.

Spoiler:

And finally the Lobbas. Nothing special, all GW sculpts.

Spoiler:

There. That is my army.

1 Warboss, 1 Mek, 1 Boss, 80 Shoota Boyz, 10 Slugga Boyz, 27 Lootas, 50 Gretchin, 3 Deff Koptas, 5 Battlewagons, 16 Kommandos, 2 Stompas, 9 Killa Kans, 6 MegaNobz, 20 Stormboyz, 1 Trukk and 2 Fighta/Fighta Bommas.

WIP are:

A looted Eldar Falcon, a Nob Squad, Counts-as-Wazdakka Biker Lord and Horseback counts-as-bikers-Grots. The Kommandos will probably be substitued/added by the excellent new Kromlech Soviet Goblin sculpts.

Thanks for your time and hope you liked the pictures. All comments, questions and critiques are most welcome.

Kind regards,

Low

Aye, it's a inside joke while my brother always calls me "Dikkie" (Fatty for the non-Dutch speakers) when we meet, so it was only good to come up with an army name which spelled just that

Thanks!

You can buy the standard Grots right here; Basicks Soviet Goblins (scroll down for 10 men deals). Only thing converted are the hands (the Basicks ones have machineguns and no seperate hands). I used Imperial Guard hands as well as 40k Gretchin hands to make close combat Grots etc. The heads are all included in the deal of Basicks. Maxmini makes great weapons for substitutions. The Basicks commanders are also very nice

Thanks, mate! Yeah they are great sculpts the Kromlech Gobs, although I haven't used them yet in my army. I use the Basicks Soviet Gobs, which are a bit more generic and more convertable than the Kromlech ones! But the reason I posted my army is to give ideas in people's heads (and to spread Da Revolution of Grots!).

Update;

Just finished my Nobz squad. The are made fromBasicks Soviet Ork bodies, Kromlech Ork Weapons and Puppetswar Soviet Ork heads;

Spoiler:
