This is going to be my thread when I want to ask fluff questions about the Blood Pact because I'm starting them.
To start off, how does the Blood Pact paint their tanks? Just a normal primer then straight red paint? Trying to figure out what shade of red to paint the tanks.

Blood Pact colors are a uniform dull red, like the color of dried blood (their armor is literally doused in the blood of captured enemies before a battle).
It's noted that a lot of their equipment is looted from Imperials, so I imagine that their vehicles would probably have similar colors and appearance to Imperial vehicles, but battle-scarred and splotched with splashes of dull, dried blood.

I always thought tank wise, they made their own from captured forge worlds. I don't remember anything about Blood Pact leman russes.

It's never outright stated that they use Leman Russes, in fact I can't recall any instance where it's specifically noted that the Blood Pact use heavy armor at all. So, idk. They might be an infantry-only warband.

If memory serves me they have captured Forge worlds and produced vehicles. Keep in mind my memory is foggy.... but... I think they use AT70 Reaver Battle Tank which was basically an easier to make but simpler LRBT. It is inferior for lack of Auspex balancers and many other things but it could still blast an enemy leman russ. They had some bigger pattern that was equal or superior to LRBT, a baneblade or two or three, and the blood pact would deploy their own personal creation, the Stalk Tank.

Abbnet gave them some walkers, even light tanks iirc. But cant remember Leman Russes. On the other hand, I clearly remember one Baneblade

They're talked the hell up but they go down like any other mooks when faced with the Tanith 1st and only.

Given the number of Blood Pact that the Tanith 1st has mown down like grass before some 30,000$ schlong compensating monster I'd have thought that the organization would have disbanded from sheer attrition ages ago.

Nonsense! Obviously Khorne is pleased by the death and just revives them all again erasing their minds of such deaths that or they found the secret cloning recipe . Heck, if this was true, I think the Vostryoans and DKoK (and also Elysians they fail almost every mission they appear in!) would have long been annihilated never to return!

They had Russes, but primarily it was an Urdeshi pattern light tank. I think it was called the "Locust"? Their equipment got talked up quite a bit in "Honor Guard" and then later on in "The Lost" cycle of books. They're also responsible for the deaths of tons of the Tanith/Belladon 91st-1st Recon Regiment.
Remember kids, just because you have named characters surviving does not mean that faceless redshirts aren't dying in droves.

I remember all the tank-duels in that one novel (the one immediately after Necropolis, I think?), but I can't recall if that was the Blood Pact they were fighting or not.

That was "Honor Guard".
I can't remember exactly if the Blood Pact were in there or not but I think they were some of the Chaos forces that got landed planetside.

No, the Blood pact wasn't introduced until the midway through the second omnibus.
At necropolis you had Asphodel's batch of nut cases where he took everyone in a hive of twenty one million and mobilized them to an insane degree (everyone was either with the army or making materiel for it) along with his own off-world guard to launch his campaign of conquest.
Then you had the Infardi.

Also, the Chaos Units very rarely use Leman Russ tanks. Rather you had STeG (a none too subtle reference to the STUGs Germany loved to death in World War 2) and the AT70 or more rarely the AT84 tank.
To put it lightly, the Sabbat Chaos force's armored corps are crap. AT70s can't even pierce the side armor of a leman russ (which is considered to be a huge problem in armored warfare) and have a firing rate specifically noted to be low, a gun bore of 105mm (which definitely is smaller than the Leman Russ' gun, which means it's worse for HE duty), and is lacking in soft values like range finding and gyro-stabilization.
This is a terrible, terrible tank. Which is why the Imperium didn't even consider them to be a serious threat to their armored forces (now to their IFVs and infantry they were problematic). The STeG 4 if memory serves, is basically the STuG III of World War 2 upgunned and planted in space, so an assault gun really.
Stalk tanks if memory serves, are essentially downsized Defilers with MAXIMUM MULTILASERS.
Of course, Chaos has always had the problem of having a grotesquely inferior military industrial base compared to the loyalists. So their equipment is both inferior and less numerous.

I imagine that the Blood Pact are a lot like the Vietcong, good at infiltration and small unit tactics but without air support and heavy weapons.

Oh no. They're not lacking air support.
Read "Double Eagle", you actually have a mass airborne invasion with Blood Pact as the ground support.

Their needs to be more on air combat, that's one thing I liked about execution hour.

How ironic because I'm going to ask about air support for them. Does the Blood Pact have their own air force or is it serpent from that army? Just like the imperial guard and Imperial navy. Trying to figure out a color scheme for something.

Oh I do. I was really just referencing that if we looked at the attrition rate that we read in books, began to question how they are sustained, etc, well we'd probably realize there's no way any of it would work . I say this all before saying the following, DKoK are the best guardsman!

the battles we hear/read about are going to be the exceptional ones for sure. I mean reading about the DKK going to a planet, killing the cultists there without any challange and spending most of their time sitting around on guard duty, makes for a boring book
