This Is Where the Fish Lives

I have been in a painting slump for the last couple months, so to get myself re-energized about painting, I decided to snap a few pictures of some work I did before my slump. I painted this dread for a small DW army I never completed last spring just a few months after the Dark Angels codex was released. Even though the army has yet to materialize, I still enjoy this model. I was (and still am) on the fence about weathering it, but I must say I do enjoy the factory fresh paint job for the time being. Comments and criticism always welcome, thanks and enjoy!

And some, I assume, are good people."

Nice paintjob mate, really smooth and clean. Also I like how you blended the background together.

By the Emperor, it's fantastic! You go smite some foes with that right now!

Your paints are not thin enough. Needs more wash.

Very nice.
I like the clean look, it's a breath of fresh air when the norm now seems to be the mud covered , weathered & battle damaged look.
Hopefully the positive comments your getting help you through your slump.
You have skills many would love, including me.

Awesome! The clean look fits it right, imo. After all this is venerable Dread of the 1st Company... You can bet this ancient hero and his sarcophagus are kept in the best possible state of repair!

That writing is engraved on the panel so a simple dark brown oil wash was all it took.

Super-smooth! Beautifully done. There's something to be said for a "brand new" looking dread.
