Bush was commonly described as a socialist, muslim anti-christ and a fake American citizen? What I commonly heard people describe him as was just an idiot. Not everyone hated him. His current approval rating for his presidency (47%) is higher then Obama's right now. On the other hand, his very existence whipped the liberals into an absolute frenzy. MIHOP/LIHOP'ers, "Bush is a muderer" people, etc...
Bush's approval rating at the time that he left office was 22%. Trying to compare whatever rating he has now, six years later, is disingenuous. Now, if President Obama were as savaged by the media as Bush was, I gaurantee his approval ratings would be even more abysmal when Bush left office. Lord knows he's done worse in a lot of categories. lulz. MWHistorian wrote:I think Obama is a socialist douche nozzle, but that said, the dude's allowed his opinion. I don't see the problem with him talking about a hypothetical son. We all do similar things so why isn't he allowed to do it? Out of all the problems with our government, I don't think this one needs any more time wasted on it. Find something more important, like the erosion of civil liberties, the TSA, income disparity, etc. (Bush was just as bad if not worse, btw.) If you think Obama is a socialist, well... you're objectively incorrect. Very little that he's done or even tried to do is socialist in nature. Big business in America is more powerful and profitable than ever. A socialist would not have thrown tax-payer money into the fire to save failing companies that screwed their own selves over. The ACA empowered health care companies even more, not less, etc. He's been nothing but good news for Capitalism since he gained the Presidency.

Obama is apparently a socialist, muslim agent of Satan who is also not really an American citizen. That is comedy gold that Bush kind of lacked.
You realized you just described Bush right?

That was just the one big saying I kept on hearing over and over again. And all those "Mission Accomplished" sign parodies. Truly, "Mission Accomplished" was the "If I had a son..." of the 2000's...

I'm sorry, why is this a news item? Am I crazy because I've been known to say "If I had a son..." or "If I had a daughter..." I'm fairly certain its a pretty common figure of speech used to describe a hypothetical situation.

The fact that they have to wear lingerie to get attention is somewhat sad as they play hard and it is entertaining to watch the game. Also, it is now called the Legends Football League, though they still wear the same uniforms. I think the name change was because they spread to Canada and Australia.

Man, considering how often I see conservatives throwing around the term "socialist" I'm surprised how few of them know what it means maybe read "The Communist Manifesto" before using that word or take some courses in political science, history, sociology and/or social studies.

You know what really annoys me about this kind of nonsense? Hate Obama or not, it doesn't matter, the guy isn't getting another term. And there's actually some pretty good, substantial reasons to hate Obama. So it isn't that at all. What pisses me off is the stupidity of the attacks... that a whole lot of people who hate Obama just turned off any critical thinking they possess, and will just happily swallow any negative complaint about Obama without spending any time at all thinking 'hang on, is this some pointless nonsense that is completely baseless or just plain inane?' before jumping on the complaint.
The absolute doozy that spread across the internet was the one where people got outraged that Obama had been given a longer Twitter allowance than anyone else. What the hell is happening in people's brains that they start believing stupid nonsense like that?

I think that could maybe be boiled down to just "maybe read" and we'd get a massive improvement in the level of discourse.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
