just joined DakkDakka, but have been checking it out for years.

I just started working on Hyper-Tech Rebels, lost human colony for 40k. (uses tau codex).

The Army is cross between Japanese Mecha and WWII German.

I started these two grav tanks, wanted High Tech KingTiger kind of feel.[size=12] [/size

Let me know what you think.

Cool idea! Do you have any scale shots with a normal soldier to know the scale of the tank?

Looking forward to more, love original armies!

Neat army concept, and really cool tank! I'd be interested in some scale shots as well.

Totally looks like a combination of human and Tau tech with the smoothness of it and that thing that looks just like a Tau sensor up on the gun. Really cool. Can't wait to see the troops!

I like the camouflage pattern.

Thank you for the complements, the base color is Tamiya Dark Yellow. Tamiya paints are excellent. It has a-lot of Tau pieces, I call them "Die Zuruck" German for "The Returned", they are a Democratic Society led by escaped "Sensei" (Immortal sons of the Emporer) They trade and have made peace with the Tau and Eldar and have returned to liberate mankind from Chaos and the corrupt Imperium.

As requested, a converted space marine right next to the Tank for scale.

The camo is called "hinterhalt" and was painted using a spotted pattern, triangles and discs.

It is about 1 inch wider than a chimera and the same length as a Land Raider. It height when flat on the ground is 2 inch lower profile than a Leman Russ MBT.

Cool stuff! I like that concept, I always wanted a human faction that's not genocidally corrupt, even if that does go against the whole grimdark thing.

I really dig the look of the tanks, and the marine from what I can see. I'd love to see some closer shots of him.

Thanks for the comparison pic, looks very good. Nice height and length on the tank! On your first pictures it was very hard to tell the size.

I am looking forward to seeing this army develop.

Now stop reading this and start building and post more pictures!

Let's stick to the topic. wulfbrigade has presented a nice piece of work and people can learn stuff from it.

I see that the turret is a Leopard Mk.1. I don't recognise the base hull, though.

Did you do the camouflage by spraying a lot of overlapping small circles by hand, or did you use a stencil?

Poor attempt at funny... I guess being in this hobby so long, I forget that many don't remember the early days of Rogue Trader, where Space Marine Gravtanks were made from deodorant bottles with spoons for turrets. So many things were made with spoons back then...

Ha Ha!!, I still have the RT book with that (deodarant tank) and Imperial Robots and Harlies. There are still some deodorant tanks floating around on the internet.

Killkrazy, yes it is a Leopard Mk 1, the base hull is two pieces of light balsa used for CubScout cars. The top of the Hull is from the same Leapord Mk1 model.

the grey plastic is heavy guage styrene, the white plastic is .40 MM styrene.

I painted the camo pattern using a base of Tamiya Dark yellow sprayed on. Then large stripes of Tamiya Flat green and Flat brown. I then used a cue tip and made the discs.

Well you did a good job disguising the hull. I would never have recognised it as a Leopard.
