I can see it now....Nids are now a collection of autonomous hive fleets there are multiple Hive Minds and they all war with one another in addition to everyone else. They speak to humans using telepathy, and they can now ally with Space Wolves as battle brothers, because reasons.
Tyranids talking to humans would be like you talking to your mashed potatoes or the probiotic in your kiefer drink. It is neither possible nor productive. Inside my mind I pinched my nipples and savored his bitter silence.

Aren't Daemons a win big, lose big kind of army? Too inconsistent in their competitiveness.
That said, Flying circus sure is scary. A lot scarier than Screamerstar.
I voted Eldar. Because I think on a codex level, they'll stand the test of time a lot better than the other top dogs, due to the number of completely varied competitive builds.

Good to see Blood Angels getting the love they deserve, 9 votes placing them at the 6th most competitive army in the game. The new edition has been very kind to them, and personally my meta has been absolutely dominated by people just spamming overpowered BA lists for the last year. They got my vote.

Can someone enlighten me as to why Dark Angels aren't very competitive today? Is it the lack of shootiness? Why would Space Marines be ranked higher than DA, what's the difference?

Space Marines have grav weaponry, chapter tactics, and better fliers. But at the end of the day, meqs just don't bring the pain in the shooting phase like the Xenos. And don't have the buffing gimmicks of the Tau.

Me too. I think this perception is because most people don't realise how to use daemons effectively- they are not the easiest codex to master straight away. But if you learn how they are crazy powerful.

I'd place IG right between space marines and necrons and agree with you...cheap vendettas and access to every tool they could need makes them a consistent teir 2

Maybe. My problem with Guard is that you're playing rock paper scissors. You can build a list that can give Tau fits (especially if you bring along some Rune Priests), you can do alright against Daemons, but you can't beat Eldar. Wave Serpents obliterate blobs, they carve through side armor 10 vehicles, and anything that can stand up to Serpents (namely Leman Russes) is not terribly effective in general and easy enough for a WK to punk into orbit. Vendettas are great, until they meet Serpents and Warp Spiders (or Tau)
The top 5 Armies can put out lists that can at least feasibly beat all of the other 4 with one list, I don't think Guard can do that anymore.

I think it might also just be Daemons don't seem to be tat popular of an army. Still, it scares me to see them along with all the others xD. Don't get me wrong, I personally think out of the 3 top tier codices, daemons are the worst. Less synergy with allies, shooting almost entirely relies on randomness, randomness in general. Many more trap picks (most of khorne isn't really worth it, nurgle is of debatable use, slaanesh is super killy but has many flaws, Tzeentch is the king pen but Flamers really aren't worth it and Pink Horrors are extremely gambly oriented) than the rest pop up and there's just so much randomness as you don't even truly get to control what your characters wield for the most part. Still it is sad to see them with such a low count. It seems not enough players have experienced the joy of fighting the Khorne Dog ride mixed with a small circus, the pure and true flying circus, or the screamerstar.
Personally I tend to think:
Eldar
Tau
Daemons
Gap
Necrons
SM
Gap
Guardsman
Space Wolves
Grey Knights
Dark Eldar
DA/ CSM (I really can't say here. CSM has the heldrake but the DA has slightly better internal balance)
Blood Angels
Orks
SoB? (really not sure)
Not sure where: Nids
