Has anyone had experience ordering from total wargamer.co.uk?

There's a thread about them already right here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/472563.page

Needless to say generally the consensus is not good, I've given them a second chance and lived to regret it before, won't be giving them a third.

I used to swear by them, now I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. I would recommend dark sphere though

I've bought from them half a dozen times, great discount and the items have arrived quickly.

But, as you will see in that other thread there seem to be problems specifically with GW goods (and also PP). So, think the advice would vary drastically depending on what you are buying.

I tried to buy from them, took three months before I got a refund, kept getting fobbed off with "stock problems"

Again wouldn't touch them with someone elses bargepole

Made my first ever order with them a week ago. They took my money immediately but still haven't even posted my items (new Nid stuff). Haven't responded to my e-mail and also ignored my messages on Facebook. Won't be using them again.

The GW stuff I ordered took ages, but my Deadzone pre-release stuff arrived in under a week, including a weekend. So very hit and miss.

Last week I ordered a box full of Lizardmen from Triple Helix. 25% discount off GW prices. Ordered on a Friday afternoon, arrived the following Thursday (first class post). So I'd definitely use them again.

I made 2 orders on Privateer Press products, all came within 1 week.

That the hate-dumb came from their inability to post the products on one company out of 1,000+ wargaming companies is one of the saddest things in TT gaming.

Very frustrating if you are buying GW products, in terms of slow communication.

I'm tempted to order some Infinity stuff to see if the turn around on non GW product is decent.

So if its a gw product I could expect a long wait?

Probably. Order from Dark Sphere if you need it soon. If you are prepared for a very long wait try Total Wargamer.

Has anyone here on Dakka ordered some Infinity gubbins from Total Wargamer recently?
They've got the largest discount I could find on that particular range, not that Infinity breaks the bank (by comparison to other games) but It's still nice to make a saving, especially on a substantial sized order.

I've already said as such earlier in the thread, but yes it is. I got some Infinity stuff, very nice 25% discount on RRP, it arrived within a week.

To the OP, yes if you are ordering GW stuff you are probably better off with Dark Sphere.

I have bought from them.
Just the other month my mum ordered 5 Mechs for my Birthday.
4 of them where meant to come with one to follow.
only three of them where in the box. We contacted them and they promised to ship the missing Mech-an Atlas- within 2 weeks
4 days later, the Atlas arrived along with the Hellbringer that had been to follow.
Satisfaction? 10/10
They are a great store and they resolved the issue faster than any others I have known.

i've oredered GW stuff twice from these jokers now, first was for a present...it turned up in two deliveries, one before and one a week after the date....brill!!! My second order turned up today....i only ordered it in November!!!!! While i wasn't in a rush for it i thought i'd need to scrap it as it wouldn't relevant for when 40K 8th Ed get realeased!!!! its only taken nearly 3 months...and any compo for the horrendously late delivery...NO!!!!!
They do offer the best discounts on the web but in terms of GW stuff i definitely will not be oredering from here again (mainly because this post has used up my quota of exclamation marks for the year!!!)

I cancelled my last order with TWG after waiting over 3 weeks for a single "in stock" item. Before that they would typically take between 1 and 2 weeks to dispatch orders.

I now use Element Games, who have managed to get 100% of orders placed with them to me within 24 hours.

I think the problem is primarily coming from GW products.
With other products TWG seems to be fine.

Shameless bit of self promotion.

I run a new store, Kirton Games, now been operating for 3 months.

We offer a lower headline discount, only 10%, but give free shipping on all orders over £15 in the UK which make us competitive and often cheaper.

Take say a box set like the Imperial Guard Cadian Shock Troopers, RRP £18.00, with a 10% discount our price is £16.20, and thats it with free postage.

Now one well known and well regarded UK based internet retailer also mentioned here sells the same box for £13.50, thats over a 25% discount for their headline price, however, they also charge postage, jacking up your price by £3.80 minimum bringing the total cost to £17.30.

The same story repeats across the net, on similar sized orders our headline price is higher, but once you do the sums we work out that little bit cheaper, in the example to the tune of £1.10.

You can of course get bigger discounts online still, though to actually get 20% or more usually means you need to be making a bigger spend in the first place once you factor in postage costs. For now at least we're not trying to compete with that, though we are working on some ways we may do in the future, aside from our regular Deal of the Week, which at the moment is the Tau Riptide, currently at 20% off and again with free UK postage.

Give us a go, or just take a look at http://www.kirtongames.com or add us on Facebook.

Guess I'll just go to Troll Trader with their discounts, wide variety of ranges and free shipping (admittedly up to £25 from the £15 it was last year).

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

Yup, limited range at present, being a small and new store thats pretty inevitable though I suppose.

Suffice to say, if you wanted to place an order for something specific we'll get it in as with any good gaming store, but we're not blindly going to stock everything, thats how small businesses end up with stock just gathering dust on the shelves.

For example, we'll be adding Flames of War in the next couple of weeks by request.

Cheers cmurphy!

ahzek, at moment its non-functional, its something I use for my own miniatures business Curious Constructs, we've not come to an agreement in the partnership about how best toi/if we'll implement it with Kirton Games though.

Don't buy GW from them, do buy anything else from them.

I've made several non-GW orders, all delivered within a few days.

Indeed, it seems that GW is the only problem they have.
Probably because GW screws everyone over.

Blaming it on GW is ridiculous. Weirdly I have no problems with the GW I order everywhere else...

They are quite simply a **** company with some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Yup, can't really lay the blame on GW. The trade terms are fairly simple, you place an order per week (more if you participate in their stockist program) and they deliver within 5 working days (generally speaking), how an order can take upto a month to reach a customer is a mystery only total wargamer can answer

Appalling company. Tried to order from them once, an order in excess of £200 and they put it off and put it off until I eventually I cancelled as I was sick of waiting. I'm still waiting for my refund two weeks after requesting the cancellation. Just bad. Avoid.
