Subject: Indiegogo: Barrowmaze Complete and Miniatures by Otherworld
Just a note for fantasy miniatures peeps that I launched a campaign on Indiegogo (my third) that includes a bundle of old school miniatures for my Barrowmaze megadungeon by Otherworld. Barrowmaze is compatible with all old school fantasy role playing games and early editions of the world's most popular rpg.
Please consider taking a look and pass the word along your networks:
If the campaign doesn't get funded they likely won't see the light of day. I've fronted the funds to get things along this far. So if the campaign doesn't get funded there are no guarantees. The adventure is huge itself and is very highly rated on rpg websites and blogs, if you are looking for something more affordable.

Don't worry, I'm definitely interested in the adventure, your blog and play reports were one of the first things I read when I got into D&D, if it wasn't for you I'd have probably picked up Pathfinder instead and have long ago got bored of having to memorise all those rules!
It's just that the $80 for the book is going to be a stretch, I doubt I'll be able to pledge for the minis as well. Which is a shame given how much I love undead and Otherworld stuff
Give me the rest of my figures that I was short gaked on from the "Successful" campaign, and I'd be all over this like stink on gak.
This looks great, but Otherworlds can't finish a project, even though thier figures are top notch.

I have received all my Otherworld miniatures from the indigogo project DAB1-4 and bonus minis. But I had to kick up a stink to get them. I love the look of Barrowmaze and might back for just the book or pdf. But the miniatures, forget it.

Their miniatures are quite nice, and really hit that 'sweet spot' in terms of price and "1E AD&D" goodness.
I just wish his campaign had a bit more communication going on.
Were you one of the backers who got nothing until recently?
I read that those people would be getting 'everything' first, and then the rest of us would be getting our remaining DAB3 and DAB4 boxes...
I'm definitely in for the book on this one - and on the fence about the miniatures...
I got DAB 1 & 2 April last year. I received DAB3 & 4 very end of last year. The communication has been so poor. I really feel for those people who've had nothing in 15 months and next to no information.

I received my DAB3 and 4 the week after Christmas (DAB1 and 2 I got back in October or so). I know many are still waiting, though, and there are a number of backers who still haven't received a single miniature. I really, really love the Otherworld minis (and their style seems damn near perfect for Barrowmaze), but I wish they had wrapped up their first campaign before this one hit the street.

I'm glad that you got 3 and 4, of course, but that kind of goes against what I thought we'd heard was happening?
Still waiting for 3 and 4 myself, and if I don't get them or hear an update/plan about them before Barrowmaze ends, well, it will definitely be 'book only' for me here!

Good looking project, I might have to get in on the book as well.
That littl cartoon was pretty cool, got any more?
Do you have a solid handle on the miniatures issue, or are we going to have... similer issues as with another "Otherworld" minis project?
and, yes. I'm still waiting on box 3 and 4 of the figures.
I really have a soft spot for Otherworlds, and thier past products have been top notch. Thats the only thing keeping me from kicking up a stink.
It is wearing thin, though... really thin.

Before I post a campaign update I would like to speak to some of the comments made here.
I backed OW's crowdfund at the highest level. I have not received all my miniatures either. I am in the same boat as many of you. I agree that Richard should have done a better job of communicating.
Having said that, most of us that do these creative projects are on our own or pretty close to it. I am not upset or angry about it. Why? Because I know when the last shipment arrives I will be as happy with the quality as I was when the first arrived. I have patience.
Most importantly, this is not OWs crowdfund. This is my own crowdfund. This will be my third successful crowdfund. All that is a matter of public record. I asked Richard to play a role here because, honestly, OW makes the best miniatures for old school gaming. When this campaign is all said and done his contribution will be a boon and not a hinderance.
Finally, almost all the greens and conversions are complete. I will continue to post pictures as the campaign moves along to demonstrate the amazing progress despite having 37 days to go in the campaign. If you pay attention to detail that means the campaign will end on the gamer holiday of March Fo(u)rth. Because to me the details matter. Huzzah!
And now we return to your regularly scheduled update
Here are the latest pictures from the Barrowmaze Complete campaign.
Here are two of the lowly, seedy tomb robbers who skulk around Barrowmaze looking to loot a few tombs and make a quick gold piece. They could also serve as henchmen or hirelings as well.
BTW the DF Catacombs are almost purpose built for Barrowmaze. I wish I had a few sets myself as they are perfect for this dungeon.
I threw a few bones your way, too, because I want to see this get off the ground.
This thing looks cool.

I'd really like to get on board this, but until OW can deliver on their first campaign, I'm going to have to leave my wallet where I can't see it.
Great looking crypt thing though.

I have Barrowmaze 1, and it's a really nice product that I am pretty happy with. It is certainly the highest quality self published adventure I've found, though I haven't had time to play through it yet.
I generally play online, using an online tabletop, and I often find it's really useful to be able to put the maps into my game as images. For that reason, the way the maps were done in Barrowmaze 1 was a bit of a pain for me- I have to sort of chop and change the maps to get them to fit together.
So I was wondering, if this gets funded, will there be a single large pdf image of the map? (I understand the reasoning behind having a chopped up version btw, for people who print it out in A4)
Apologies if this has already been answered, I didn't spot it on the indiegogo page.
Best of luck with this, I am considering throwing some money your way, just got some bills coming in this month and need to see how things look after my bank account has been mugged

That would be a GREAT thing!
You should PM/message the creator directly with that suggestion!

Yes, the map is included in poster size in black/white and old school blue. Also, I have grand plans for the map if the funding level extends beyond 22k.
As an aside, I used the BMI map taped together for the entire time I DMed the adventure without problems.
Keep in mind too, that one is bound by the limitations of the print on demand business. This puts constraints specifically on the megadungeon.

Yeah, I do understand that. I think the maps for BM1 are fine, and especially for an in person game, having a big pdf file would just be cool for online players. I buy all my gaming stuff in pdf nowadays since I game almost exclusively on G+. I am tempted by the "real" book for barrowmaze though, I must admit.
I really like the simplicity of the black and white map. I can just put a floor texture in using my mapping software, and place furniture objects and so on. It can actually sometimes be a little distracting if the map quality is such that the map is full of pretty but irrelevant detail, and it prevents those little flourishes that make running a game so much fun. The barrowmaze map is functional and communicates all the relevant details.
I don't know if you guys are familiar with the dungeon map in the most recent issue of Gygax Magazine but Cory Hamel (my cartographer) and I have talked about a similar colour map with all the details. It would be a huge undertaking, so I need to see how far the crowdfunding campaign is going to go.
Barrowmaze is my baby and I pour all the resources I can into making it one of the coolest megadungeon available. A lot of people have contributed to Barrowmaze from the outset, and have followed and supported my progress with it, and I feel I have an obligation to make it the best I can.
