So, Nid list based around hitting people here it hurts with terrors from the deep and pinning people in place for it.

Thought’s please Dakka. Viable?

I actually just finished making a list very similar for 1999+1 points. I think it would be viable myself. It might be worthwhile to take swarmlord for the plus one to reserves since alot depends on those reserves but with three mawlocs the odds of all failing to come in is unlikely. Also i love genestealers but they are squishy and a unit of 5 can be easily wiped out to some good shooting. Just my two cents. love the idea over all though.

i'm not understanding this list much. You have 1 synapse creature, once its dead, your army will effectively fall apart minus your stealers. and the rest of your army has to stay within 12" of your rant.

lictors are leadership 10 so they should be good without synapse and the mawloc at ld 8 isn't to worrisome but I assume the idea is to have him deepstrike then burrow next turn to go into ongoing reserve to benefit from his burrow from the deep abilities.

Quite right sir.

i appreciate that stealers are not the toughest but they are the broodlords delivery system for pinning people in place at -2 Ld.

I personally think the swarmlord doesn't help as he is a lot slower than the rest of the army as everything else is deepstriking or infiltrating. So the only thing that needs baby sitting is the crone, which the flyrant will keep under control.

also forgot to mention the ADL has a comms relay, paid the points for it but didn't write it down.

i was thinking about tweeking by dropping the hive crone and 1 unit of lictors.

would give me 265 points to spend.

I love the list. Will be trying out a 3 mawloc list myself. I've gotta say I like the stealers. I've seen the brood lord survive through more shooting then 10 gaunts. The only thing that makes me worry is overwatch. I'm not sure how you deal with a luck meltagun or fusion blaster. But that's assault this edition.

Yeah i think the troops will be fine, especially considering what else the enemy has to deal with.

Cannot fit any fexes in as heavy is maxed out with mawlocs.

dropping what i suggested leaves me 265 points and 1 elite slot and 3 fast attack slots so limited to what i can take from there.

Zoans could be taken, but risk getting left behind.

Shrikes? expensive warriors but would provide more synapse?

what i was thinking of was Raveners. fast attack and fit the theme. possibly 2 units or one bigger unit with the red terror in there?

I say one to many as you have 4 units but only 3 Mawlocs.

the 4 lictors are in 2 units of 2.

The info on the lictors for the dataslate has already come out. Its 5 lictor broods and deathleaper in a formation. So you have to spend the 380 to bring this. Each brood is a single man unit. One of the rules is preferred enemy(character & IC) the second rule has not yet been leaked, that I am away of. Its called paranoia and Ill discipline.

a dataslate eh? presumably doesn't take up FOC slots like the Tau fire cadre?

as much as i would like to i cannot as i already have 2 HQ.

No venomthropes?
A venomthrope that's gone to ground behind the ADL can man the comms and provide a nice bunkering location for the genestealers.

I'd go from 3 mawlocs to 2, and add in a pair of spores (fast attack) and maybe even a biovore (for making more spores).

I'd drop 2 Lictors for 2 Venomthropes. With the saved points getthe Flyrant some toxin. Other than that looks solid, I've written a very similar list but with more FMCs and less Mawlocs and Lictors.

I'm not yet certain that paranoia and ill discipline are one or two rules...I have heard that ill discipline forces all enemy units to use the lowest ld of any member in the squad so long as a single lictors is alive.
