I am curious to see what other army sets there may be, as the current ones are specified as "week 1" on the site. And I also want to see the Army Book and Limited Edition Army Book!

Also, I noticed the Ungrim Ironfist is a metal model? And appears (at least to me) to be a new one. Although I vaguely recall seeing it before, it could very well be something else I am thinking of. Im fact it seems like there is a good deal of metal models remaining, specifically in the Dwarfs listing.

So, I don't know if this has been discussed already, but a LGS near me was accidentally selling next week's White Dwarf early. The Dwarfs have a Gyrobomber coming, this kit also makes a new Gyrocopter. They are also getting a new Runelord, and Engineer Character, and the next White Dwarf has a picture of the new Dwarf Army Book. Also, if you look closely, you can see new Dwarf Ironbreakers. This new Ironbreakers kit also looks like it builds some kind of blunderbuss wielding shooting unit. This blunderbuss carrying unit might also have the option to build some kind of flamethrower gun, I'm not sure.

In review:

New Gyrobomber/Gyrocopter kit.
Engineer Character.
New Runelord.

Grainy pictures in next White Dwarf of new Ironbreakers, and it seems this kit also builds new ranged unit with large gun or blunderbuss option and possible flamethrower option.

Theoretically at least.

But the stuff you'd actually be interested in (i.e. the core changes, not the frills) aren't in the white dwarf. Unless GW thinks people are dumb enough to think situational hatred, +1S on the charge, and more normal flee/pursuit stuff is less important than a special character and (maybe) a gyrobomber.

Dwarf flame throwers would be a nice throwback. Some of the first Citadel miniatures I owned. ( I think...definitely weren't Marauder).

there was an old engineer character called Burlok Damnisson IIRC, sounds like the new engineer could possible be related.

Random random notion... gyro as a mount option for an engineer?

So many models, even less time.

Ugh, no thanks. One quick look and I backed out fast. I think those are terrible-Mantic's are much better (in my opinion). Of course, they all fail by MILES compared to Avatars of War's dwarves. Those things are hands down the best on the market.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

If theyre anything like the ones floating around behind the Slayer in that 'clearly not actually the cover' art then they look pretty enclosed.
Might just be a different bit that sits on the outside that distinguishes it.

Anyway, Burlok Dammison was awesome (along with the Gibbons art). Hope this IS his son and that the mini is suitably steam powered.

Those are terrible. I hate hate hate that Brian Froud-inspired big-nosed muppet look. If Tre Manor is some sort of sculpting God, then he has forsaken those models. There is no part of them that I like. At least the Mantic Ram-Man dwarfs don't look like something that was quietly removed from Epcot center.

Now Scibor, on the other hand, makes some great dwarfs.

I would say it's unlikely, but it's not without precedent.

When the Gyrocopter was first released back in a 3rd ed White Dwarf article, there was the option to have it as a mount for any Character.

Is this the dwarf rumor thread or is it all about third party companies making dwarfs?

Stay on topic.

I'm very curious at the size of the gryrobomber, i'm guessing it will be on a chariot base or the new monstrous cav base

After reading this, the tone seems to hint that none of the kits on this page will be updated...in fact, I'm 99% sure none of this kits will be redone. Kind of a shame, since there was talk of it being a from the ground up update. Hopefully I'm wrong...

BTW, seems interesting the painter used the Ruins of Osgiliath kits, esp. since GW doesn't ever mix LOTR/Hobbit stuff with Warhammer stuff.

You don't see them mixed for the "official promotional" stuff, but since this is from the painter's private collection it seems to be okay.

The manager of my usual GW store claims that the warrior/Thunderer models will not be updated. Dunno how reliable that info is...he is however a massive dwarf fiend so it may be accurate?

Back in 3rd edition, Dwarves had a two-man team carrying a move-and-fire flame thrower. One Dwarf held the front end of the firing device, while the other carried a big barrel connected by a hose to the firing nozel. They were designed to be placed one behind the other so the two pieces of the firing device connected.

I'm actually kind of pleased by some of these rumors, should they turn out to be true.

I've always missed the original Gyrocopter's fly-over-and-drop-a-grenade attack that hasn't existed for 15+ years. I've also always missed the man-portable Dwarf flame thrower. It'd be cool if both of them came back.

I saw the gyro and all I could think was, "That's eighty-plus bucks for sure." I don't even know if I like the design or not because my brain stopped processing the image at the price.

GW are insane, but I don't think it'll be THAT expensive. It seems pretty small, looks to just be on the same flyer stalk as the Terradons, so if it's $80+ I would expect to see multiple in the box.

I took you seriously until that last line. Scibor's miniatures are a joke, laden with extraneous detail until they look like blinged-out Michelin men.

The supply does not get to make the demands.
