You know I have a whole pile of these. A friend who used to work for GW promotions gave them to me. That was some years back, and I still haven't used them for anything. The sprus are nice, and the tiles are bigger than what they ended up releasing for sale.

I also prefer the metal grey knight terminators to the plastic ones.
Unless you are talking about the OLD metal dreads, the modern plastics are actually quite similar. While the basic one could be re-cut to more efficiently use sprue space, the dread kits are some of my favorite ones these days.
I know there is hardly any difference, they're a tad wider, and the body is a tad higher up, but those differences lost something for me, I also dislike the base, always have since they introduced it. I understand it is probably more for gaming reasons than anything else, but I like my old metal dready standing on his own two feet.

OK, that’s fair. Sometimes it’s the little things that make all the difference. And beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I love my old chunk of lead (who does march on his own two feet, just borrowing that base for scale in the pic) I love him for his detail, for his heft, and his history. But I also love my new plastic dreads. For their ease of construction, adaptable weapons (easy to swap) and options.

Hmm, I think that new models tends to be better, but there are some great gems from the old ranges: RT era Imperial Army 2nd ed metal Cadians Juan Diaz Daemonettes/Seekers 5th/6th edition Empire Swordsmen/Halbrediers And, of course, the immortal "beer gut" commissar. He's just chilling with his sword on his shoulder and power fist at his hip. He's seen worse than whatever is happening right now, I'm sure.

Agreed. The current ones fall into the "unnecessary bling" that far too many modern SM suffer from.

If they could go back to using the previous leman russ hulls with the current turret that would be cool. The old hull sides with the wheels for the chimera and russ provided some excellent converting opportunities.

I like the old CSM models, the metal ones with all sorts of mutations. I kinda like being one of few people who have them too, though.
Old Bloodletters were some of the coolest models ever, they looked like a group of devils with big axes, and I always wanted them when I was younger and saw them in the store.
Somebody must mention Squats..
Old Obliterators. The models aren't that great in themselves, but the basic idea of them having weapons all over is better than hunchback terminators in Lady GaGa's meat-dress with lascannon fingertips...

I'd love some of those original CoD sprues. They're tons better than the actual CoD releases, and I love the CoD releases.
I'd want the Necromunda range back. Even before the recent removal of metal, the Necromunda range has been incomplete for years. There are certain models that are next to impossible to find outside of eBay (almost anything that wasn't in a starter box), and that's a real shame.

The old Flamers of Tzeentch. I seldom come across daemons lately, but from what I've seen the current ones have become too antropomorphic for my taste, having faces and sixpacks and stuff. The old ones, in contrast, looked like the side effect of reading a Call of Cthulhu sourcebook on mushrooms. Loved them.
Failing that, Valhallans and Tallarns.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I miss the 2nd edition Space Wolves. Not so much the Terminators, but just the Blood Claws, Grey Hunters, Long Fangs and Wolf Guard. The new models are more adaptable and have more options and are still much better than the 3rd (or was it 4th?) edition plastic Space Wolves, but I preferred the look of the old metals. Really need to hit up ebay and see if I can get some of the old metals, as I only have a few.

All of the squats rocked, especially the eggs. I would love to see the unreleased 3rd ed squats put into general production.

There were plans to release slightly less ridiculous exo-armor models. Prototypes were made at some point, but then squats got... well, squatted.

THOSE arent bad. Much better than the easter eggs.
I liked the bikers, well, I loved the bikers. I think the went a little too far and coulda made them "fit" the squats better, but the old biker look and choppers made them look bad ass and fluffy. The guild troops, think the plastic guys that came in the box, were also great. The different sections and roles within their society all fit well and totally meshed with the overall fluff. thats part of why they were so popular and why there was worldwide outrage when they were killed off.
