When you own both Pixar and Star Wars, the most logical move would be to let Pixar make a Star Wars movie, no? Well, that's exactly what Disney is planning according to The Latino Review. P
A Pixar film would be one of many tie-ins that would happen with Episode VII—for example, there are rumors of comics and TV shows. At the moment, there don't seem to be any more specific details about a Pixar film—but should it happen, it's not exactly the most surprising move for Disney to take. The Latino Review has also been right about the stuff its heard about before. P
Well, I think the picture is just a generic "Pixar'd Up Star Wars" picture that the article grabbed of the internet and not a publicity shot from Pixar.
So there is no telling if the story is really true and what story they would do if it is.

Oh yeah, it's definitely a fake. I just thought if it were real, how disappointed I'd be.
The Star Wars EU has so much potential, if the film department of the IP could just get the hell away from the Galactic Empire/Skywalker story arc. It's dooooooone, let's move on!

Of course I'm thinking this could be the Star Wars version aimed at younger kids (with the obligatory Pixar easter eggs for adults). So we have a good chance at getting a great script and story about a young Jedi in training doing great thing. Of course we also have a great chance at getting "Pixar's Ewoks"...

Even in the good old days of the late 70's and early 80's there was a lot of crappy Star Wars related junk. The Holiday Special and the Ewoks cartoon immediately come to mind.
Lets face it. Star Wars is no prude, and has always been "open for business", if you know what I mean.

I think a Pixar Star Wars movie would have great potential.
At the very least you could get movies out in quantity(more moneys) without sacrificing quality.

I can't say I'm opposed to it, though I prefer the darker side of Star Wars and hope it doesn't get reduced to nothing more than continually shoving out more Clone Wars quality children's shows.

Anyway, they could separate their focus a bit. The lighter nicer side of Star Wars with the animated versions and the darker side for the live action.

Dark in the same way that Diet Coke is Coke. It was a very kiddy show, which I'm not opposed to those existing, but with Lucas finally gone and his twistedly juvenile world view removed from the equation, I'd like some real grim dark to hit the screen
Star Wars is one of those universes that just gets darker and darker the more you think about it, but from the way Lucas portrayed it, a galaxy perpetually trapped in unending ideological warfare between sorcerer factions hell bent on destroying one another is as bright and sunny as a morning stroll down the beach.

If Pixar gives us this, but in their style I will go bat gak. The original Clone Wars series craps all over the 3D one.
I mean Pixar isn't really known for dark material, sad yes, dark no. So i'm not sure how a scene like Empire's or Jedi's Vader/Luke fight would go down.
I also don't want Star Wars to be an ultra gore deathfest but I'd like people to be able to loose limbs with a lightsabre as in the original trilogy. For example, even the implied killing of children in RotS was a bit too much for me in the Star Wars universe.
Something about Droids might be too close to Wall-E. I'd be interested in what they come up with.
It would be nice if they had a non-human lead, or a story with very little human presence. Maybe just as the bad guys?

Pixar making a tie-in just sounds a little weird to me. You look at the average budget for a Pixar movie and they make the budget for the Star Wars prequels look like an 8mm home movie.
Either Pixar is making a huge, big budget Star Wars thing that will come out well away from Episode VII, or this will be a short movie or something like that.
Or possibly its just a rumour, or an idea thrown around at a Disney exec meeting, with nothing more added to it than that.

Lucas' decision to replace Wookies with Ewoks marked the end of any mature Star Wars movies. At least KotOR I and II and a few EU novels told a compelling story.

Ye... Lucas pimped the star wars whore out to anyone and everyone. At least Disney have some sort of restraint over who they sell to.
I can't see myself how Star Wars Pixar would work, but I do trust Pixar. It may be as simple are some pre-movie droid shorts, like the Bugs Bunny "Please respect other move goers" stuff, or all they way up to a full blown spin off that may or may not be in Pixars trademark style. They could be doing the animation for the live action films, after all they did start doing that on the original trilogy as part of Lucasfilm as the computer dept of IML.
