Going to be honest here I can tell you did all this in a month. It takes me an hour a model to do my Black Templars but, in my opinion, it's worth the time to make a nice model.
Your models look rushed, you've not done the shoulder pads properly on your DV ravenwing bikers (the revenwing symbol etc.), all your black is completely flat, you've not tidied up some of the silver trim on your bikes, your green is shiny and your tabards are a weird, beige colour.
The Terminator Librarian and Deathwing are the best of the lot, however all Librarians have blue armour which is clearly something you've forgotten about or didn't know. Well done on the Deatwhing Terminators, it's a very nice, flat bone colour but I can see some of the places where you've cut the model off the sprue.

Well im not out to win any awards, just get em painted up to a decent tabletop standard. In between working 50+ hrs a week, my wife and children i dont get a ton of time. The black is supposed to be flat as im not a big fan of shiny or gloss black. An hour on 1 model that is not a SC is just not something ican afford to do. Also i like to my touches on my stuff, i dont follow the letter of the law oncolors/schemes hence the DA green termie librarian. I checked out your gallery and while i love your basing work, nothing really sticks out as special to the point of 1hr per marine as compared to my stuff, shrug opinions are like aholes we all got em. Thanks for the C&C tho!

I'm aware of that, but some of the stuff could have been done better even without that much effort. For example, your green looks very glossy, and even a grey drybrush over your black would have done it a world of good. Also, have you dipped your models with ink, because that's what it looks like.

You'd be better off using a GW wash or something similar, they're not as heavy and don't leave as much of a shine as an inkwash.

Not a huge fan of nuln oil tbh, never quite gives the results i want and is overpriced (like all gw stuff naturally lol).

Can't blame you, you could always just water down some black paint with some medium, or whatever colour you want, it's what I do and it works reasonably well.

No problem, it's great because you can have it as thin or as thick as you want :3 It's also a lot less glossy than inkwash and it flows a lot more nicely and doesn't settle on flat areas as much.

Looking good brother. For one month, I'd have to say it's awesome. Some people (LIKE ME) take several months to just get a unit completed. And your stuff looks great on the tabletop...which is where they'll be viewed from. You'll improve with time, but for now, I think your stuff looks fantastic man.

Yeah sleep is not something i am familiar with, so i try to put any free time i got aside for painting lol. Im currently looking at 20 Grey Hunters and 5 Long Fang's on my painting station with a Wolf Priest, and i'm procrastinating the last few days lmao.

It really is impressive. I mean, they look pretty good. Factoring a hectice life schedule, they look really good.

I had kind of earned the reputation as a painting snob around my FLGS because I'm really OCD with my own guys and used to offer up unwanted advice to people. Took a bit to learn that's not the right way to go about it, because people who's models you think look pretty good take it as it's not good enough, rather than taking it as tips to make it look even better. I actually have some contructive criticism if you want to hear it, but I mean they really are quite nice so it's only if you want to hear it.

Getting all that done in a month at that level is lightning speed compared to what I work at so I am legitimately impressed.

i'll take any constructive C&C your willing to throw brother, i've only been seriously painting about 8-9 month's now, so im sure there is ton's of stuff i dont yet. These and a few SW were the 1st model's i actually used a non-walmart brand brush! I have kinda self taught myself thru video's and learning 1st hand, and a few tip's from my buddy Bix, so anything you can offer to help im willing to listen to!

It seems to me for when you do whites, you just have WHITE. It's really aggressive, and comes out a little on the flat side because it appears to be just white with a bit of a black gap between where it connects to other colors.

I cannot recommend enough whenever you do white to lay down a really light grey first. It looks to me like you're utilizing GW paints so they recommend Celestra Grey. It helps for a multitude of reasons. First and foremost, it makes whatever white you throw on top of it come out a little smoother. Secondly, it allows you to utilize proper shading. Rather than make, say, the trim of the Deathwing Knight cloaks a solid WHIIIIITE, you can keep the solid white part on the top, and have it be slightly darker with a hint of grey in the recesses of the hood where it bends.

I also noticed there are hints of unpainted recesses on some of your guys, which comes from fully assembling the whole kit before painting. I get why you'd do that as time is an issue, but it doesn't take that much longer to not attach backpacks and bolters to guys, instead throwing those on once the chests of the marines get painted or the little crevices in the upper parts of backpacks. I know the dark angels arms with the boltguns are already holding the weapons so sometimes leaving the whole arm off while you get the chest painted up is necessary.

Looks good! I'd love to play against an army painted as such My favorite are the ravenwing - awesome job on the plasma gun bike in particular!

Yea i have always debated weather to paint then assemble or vice versa. I think my next guys i will try to paint then assemble and see how much of a process it is, as compared to how i normally do things. Thanks for the C&C brother!
