If you wanted attention why make your list do difficult to read?
Basically your list is 5 Vendettas and 2 Fortresses of Redemption. Which will do OK at 2k and is strong anti meta. But D weapons take them off straight away. As for what I'd use to best this list.
Farseer, 2 squads on 3 Jet bikes, skyshield landpad, Revenant Titan, Firebase Support Cadre is an 1850 list. That's both Fortresses dead turn one with 2 twin linked D weapon blasts at each that auto kill on any hit. Plus 6 broadsides and a Riptide at you. Then 2 of your flyers go down to interceptor when they come on and you've nothing that is a threat to the Revenant who kills you entire army.
As for how to help your list perhaps mix up the Vets squad or command squads. Get some melta and ride in the vendettas to vary your threat better. You have practically nothing to stop Terminators in Landraiders from reaching your lines and little that can hurt the big deathstars going around. However against a lot of normal competitive builds people won't be able to deal with 2 AV14 buildings at the moment.

In his post he said his list isnt for escalation and it obviously isnt for apoc, so you are just throwing a titan in there because you can? I dont think his list is intended to fight apocalypse units.

Escalation isn't an optional expansion like Cityfight or Planetstrike were. Sure, you can say "you have to ask your opponent for permission", but that can be said about anything.
Fact:
With the release of Escalation and Stronghold Assault, D Weapons are a part of standard 40k.
Having said that, I would be disinclined to play against someone with D Weapons unless I also had them. They can definitely unbalance a game. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, the Titan is a Lord of War choice for a standard 40k Eldar or Dark Eldar army. EVERY unit produced by GW can be used in Apoc... which isn't relevant to this discussion about standard 40k.

I understand that but if someone was like "im gona use my titan against your 2000 point list with no apocalypse stuff no mater what you say" i would just leave, It doesnt mater if its not optional someone who doesnt want to play against crap like that isnt going to.

Yeah and saying I want 2 Fortresses of redemption bet you can't beat this and you can't use the stuff that beats this is a bit rich. Its like saying how do you beat my Cronair but you can't use Codex: Tau, or Fortifications or Codex: Imperial Guard...
Either way as I stated the list has strengths and weaknesses. But is pretty strong overall.

True. And I agree with you. But he said BEAT THIS LIST... which is almost trivial with the options at hand for most armies, which for better or worse now includes Titans.
The game just allows so many different combos these days. How about this...
Main Detachment
25 point bare bones Xenos Inquisitor whose sole job is to hide in a corner.
Allied Formation:
Tau Fire Support Cadre x3
You have to play with the upgrades to make this fit in 2000 points, but you can take:
3x Riptides with Interceptor/Ion Weapon and 1 Shielded Missile Drone each
9x Broadsides with High Yield Missile Pods and Interceptor
9x Broadsides with Railguns and Target Locks (to let them all target different buildings)
There is so much Twin-Linked, High Strength Interceptor goodness in this list that the Flyers are mostly useless. The Riptide Twinlinked Meltas and Broadside Railguns will pop the buildings with the weapons most likely all in the first round of shooting. Although, to be honest, I would just blanket the battlements with missiles and railgun fire and forget the buildings. Automatically Appended Next Post: I forgot to say... My list gets 2+ saves against everything other than then Vendettas who probably are never going to be able to shoot.

So are you using the BRB terrain deployment when fielding this army as you may struggle to fit the FOR on in the first place. Depends what mission and what objectives as your likely to hole up in the tower, on the battlements etc. In this case I wouldn't waste any points on vehicles or anti air and just take shed loads of weak troops choices (12) and hold them back in cover and pick up the objectives late on and wait for you to come out of your towers. Don't really know what to say, your seemingly not using the new supplements and it's a pretty weak ass list against anything else than high AV or MC.

Can't you just abide by the OP instead of questioning it?
Taking away two of the most imbalanced expansions is not removing the only way to beat this list.
If it is, do you really mean to tell me that this list cannot be beaten in non-escalation 40k? I am disappointed.
I say no escalation, because IMO that should be kept to a different game. I have yet to see a GT or major RTT allow escalation/stronghold assault and will proceed accordingly.
You have 15 or so codexes available and all you can do is whine about not getting to click the win button?

What about all 8 units camping outside of Los on an objective nestled by the FoRs? You and your whopping 0 troop choices, no mobility and a few SMS shots would have a hard time cleaning all 60 troops(stopped from fleeing due to walls, an auto-reggrouping due to orders) out.
Also, Railguns do jack to buildings since they ignore glances and that is all you can do, so that unit is almost entirely useless. The inquisitor would get one-shotted by artillery, netting slay the warlord and probably first blood.
Finally, an intercepting ion tide will do on average 0.25 glance/pen results, even if I don't jink. You MIGHT kill 2 vendettas if you are lucky.
Good Effort, but I don't think your list would do very well.

If he swapped to all Missilesides he'd do better. But the Iontides are not for AA they suck at that only an idiot would use them for that. They'd go after the Fortifications with fusion and ordnance. 18 SMS will kill your 60 troops in not a long time. They kill on average 45 T3 troops a turn so think again about hiding out of LoS.
He has 6 units of Broadsides. Each intercepts with 12 twin linked tank hunting S7 shots. That is an average of 13 HPs done to you on intercept. Sure you can jink but then your 'detta is neutered. He should kill about 4 flyers 3 if you jink. Your FoR are probably all that is left turn 4.

I was always wondering how a game where both opponents have fortifications would work out. Here is my own list, would it be about equal in terms of chance to win compared to the OP ? Has anyone had experience fighting a fortification vs fortification based lists? Maybe this list could compete with yours, I do not know. Let us know what you guys think.
