I frequently use psychic powers in my games of 40k, and it often gets confusing remembering what psychic powers I have, and what they do.

I'm tempted to get the 40k Psychic cards, but are they worth buying?

I like them simply because it's one less thing I need the rulebook for; I'm flipping through the thing enough as it is, so one less thing is fine with me.

You can just use a Label Maker and a 20mm base to do it as easily. A single cheat sheet with the text is all you need to go along with your list and remind you

The cards are expensive. use your extra bases.

I usually lay out the powers I rolled for for easy reference. Much easier than opening the book constantly.

I love them really handy quick reference. That said some index cards will accomplish the same thing. Really up to you if it's worth the cash for the decks.

I use a program called Magic Set Editor to make my own reference cards. It’s free, it works. I haven’t made psychic power cards, as I don’t think I’ve fielded my librarian since the new codex dropped, but I use it for warlord traits and chapter tactics reminders.

I have the main pack, and I pick up the army specifics if it's an army I collect, as has been said, it's a good reference and is one less thing to be flicking through the brb for every turn

But don't get both chaos packs, they are the same

It works great for me, i put them on the table as a reminder.
Though even so, i hardly remember to cast prescience at the start of my turn..

I never really cared to use them till I started using 2+ psykers with 6+ rolls. Now I've found they're extremely useful for quick reference.

Awesome, I might make many of these for the new guard codex when it comes out. How easy is it? How flexable in design and so forth?

Just a quick copy/paste from over in my blog, when I made these:
One of the things on my to do list was to make some reminder cards as play aides, for both chapter tactics and warlord traits. My own psychic cards are also on the to-do list, but I'll get to those later.

There was a thread a bit ago about making cards in a program called "Magic Set Editor" And some nice stuff put togethers by others (from which I grabbed the warlord cards) But no chapter tactics. So I made my own. The pictures I used were just from typing "assault marine" etc. into google and taking the coolest looking ultramarine on the first page or two. Apologies to anyone who's art I stole. MSE is pretty darn easy to use, and free to download. Much easier then tweaking margins and text size in Word to try to get things to line up at the right size.

I've got some of these card sleeves on order from my FLGS:

http://new.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4331

They do make an Ultramarines back, but it uses a Calgar pic I'm not fond of. Can't go wrong with the aquila.

There are a large number of templates that come with the program, or from their website. In the thread I linked there are more, including ones with spots for stats if you want to make unit cards. It’s pretty much as simple as dragging a picture into the space, clicking into the text boxes and putting what you want there. I’m sure you could do more, but it’s pretty easy.

I like the psychic cards.
Pull a set of 7 cards, shuffle, and draw until you get the powers you're stuck with for that game. Swap for primaris as required.
You can also place the card with the model or unit you've buffed/debuffed. It keeps things tidy, and less likely to be forgotten.

It's no different to using markers and dice. But, it is all in one place.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

I realllllly hope you don't mean the chaos marine and chaos daemons packs, because they most certainly are not the same, not even close.

On topic: Definitely worth getting, as others have mentioned the convenience factor more than covers the price.

This looks Great! I would definitely buy the cards, but, I'm short on money, so this could be amazing, thanks

They're well priced for being optional, I personally like using them for organization.

In aesthetics...the Eldar ones are lacking (I bought them anyways)...but the standard ones and the bug ones are oh so pretty.

Agreed. Tossing them on the table near the psycher makes it easy to remember 1) to use the power and 2) let's your opponent know what you have. Keep stuff above board as much as possible. the game is confusing enough some times.

I’d just use the stock magic template for a few reasons. One is that I’m lazy, so default=good. The other is that it has everything you need. There are basically 3/4 pieces of information you need to have:

Power name
School, w/ number/primaris
What it does
Picture (optional, but you want this)

Your basic MtG card format has all this. Two small text boxes, one large text box, and an illustration.

I know somewhere out there is a PDF with all the book powers and I think everything up to at least eldar, but my undercaffineated google-foo is failing me this morning.
