In the future I will be going back to marines. I'm going to paint my own scheme so I can play them how I want if I want to vary it, however I am predominantly going to play scars as I want a bike army. If I do this should I bother with khan? He seems good on paper and I know what he does (and points etc) however I have no first hand experience of him.
I also don't know all armies that well so there might be something stupid to counter him/his rules (ignoring removes cover things).

What is the general consensus on him, good or should I use a home brew version?

The only reason I khan see not to use him is the truly horrific number of puns it's possible to come up with around his name.

Are you kidding, that's the main reason to use him!

HE is very good, allowing for an alpha strike. Now dont forget he can also allow you to outflank

I like to pair him with a bike Chapter Master. Have someone else absorb challenges for him and its all good.

I khan't believe you actually went there. I mean, I'm all for kicking the khan about a bit, but now you're playing minor league!

I guess the rest of your army will have to carry the khan on this one. Poor bloke passed out after hitting the khan too much before the battle.
