Looks like the arm joints do rotate at the "elbow" so it should be a breeze to magnetize the two gun arm options.

surely you've switched the canadian price for the Aussie one. Or Canada has became the new red headed stepchilcd of the GW world

Hm, good point. With the listed prices above, I'd be able to buy them from a local discounter for about the same as from a US discounter, so I'd actually buy them locally! Surely a horrible mistake, then!
I'm interested to see the price, the past few releases have actually not been horribly skewed against Australia (not great mind you, just not so skewed that it's worth buying internationally, the Wraithknight is $125AUD and $115USD). However, the exchange rate has slipped slightly... so I'll be interested to see the pricing of the Imperial Knight.

FYI, at the current exchange rate, the Wraithknight is actually cheaper in Australia than the USA

Because GW have been implementing their price rises release by release, it's really only worth importing models from older releases (IG, for example, can be gotten nearly half the price in the USA compared to Oz),

Since it is apparently such an issue, I ask again.#

1 - I was discussing relative prices of DF Leviathans vs. GW Knights, which I believe (tell me if I am wrong) is on topic.

2 - Azrael13 "responds" with personal insults, doubting the objectivity of my comparisons.

3 - I dispute his insinuations, or ask him to at least substantiate them.

4 - Azrael13 walks away, claiming that to support his baseless insults would be feeding my "trolling".

I can't exactly follow the logic of how I am the one derailing things or stirring up controversy here. All would have been perfectly fine, if Azrael13 would've stuck to the discussion at hand, instead of going off on groundless personal attacks for no apparent reason.

I have just hit upon the name for my Knight, once I get it.

"Salutem Titan"

It's latin, and means:

"Welfare Titan"

Just thought I'd share.

Take it easy.

Well, not entirely - the Vanguard and Sternguard prices were both horribly skewed against us, so I bought mine from the US - as were the centurions (I believe). It's really best checked out on an individual basis with the newer kits. Wraithknight was one that worked out better to get locally since it was "close enough" to importing them in. Same with the Wraithguard if I recall correctly.

Never noticed the Vanguard and Sternguard, when did they come out? I mostly noticed the Tau, Eldar and Lizardmen were all not so bad. They all came out while I was living in the US and I didn't bother buying any of them because the price difference wasn't nearly as bad as some of the other armies I collect.

But I'm thoroughly, thoroughly gutted that GW have stumbled upon the, wonderful, name of my Space Marine chapter: Angels Amaranthine.

Sincere question, honestly curious... just can't see how he could get anything out of it from Dakka?

Clickthroughs to his blog.

He gets some money from the advertising, etc. No idea if he's making a living/profit off of it at this stage, or gets a lot of freebies via review copies, or so forth, but that's what Alph was referring to. A bit of a shame, when Zwei isn't being contrary, making absurd arguments and gak stirring he can be an interesting poster.

Okay, that was the answer I was looking for, just didn't understand what Alpharius was getting at.

I'm mainly interested in this because it means that GW might incorporate the old Eldar Knights models into the range (scaled up and updated, of course). I know that they've already got the Wraithknight model out now, but a 28mm Bright Stallion would probably be one of the coolest looking figures out there.

I'm pretty sure they mentioned the Bright Stallion in White Dwarf when the Wraithknight came out. I seem to remember something about a 4-legged Eldar construct not meshing well with the current aesthetic, so instead they made the WK, based on the Wraithlord or Eldar Titan style.

Why is it a problem? GW have been very occassionally known to add nods to fan content. It only becomes a problem if a backstory is added or they are declared eaten by 'nids etc.

I know. It isn't really a problem. I just liked having it, more or less, to myself. It suits a BA successor better anyways. In my opinion.

I'm sure it's not a nod to my chapter anyway.

Actually, Amaranthine is also the name of a planet in Mass Effect. Though I didn't find out about that til recently.

As an aside, and perhaps this isn't the right thread for this but it is pertinent to the statements others have made about where to preorder things from (and, indeed, people are likely to preorder these tomorrow) -

My local GW store manager just posted on facebook that they're moving the preorder times up from midnight to "between 6 and 7pm" on the friday. Whether that means third parties will be allowed to do likewise, or this is another move to try and undermine them (seems pretty likely) is as yet unknown...

Dreamforge have a sale on their Leviathans, only $75 for the 28mm one and $33 for the 15mm one:

Exalted!

Good to see that magnetizing the arms for the various gun options looks doable.

Especially with the extremely possibility of FW kits coming down the pipe.

Have to be sure to magnetize the head as well, I'd think!

Again... I was discussing prices when Azreal13 started getting personal. Then I try to defend myself and mods stop the thread, allowing people like Azreal13 to sling made-up insults with impunity.

Where in that sequence should I be nicer? And I suppose I would get clicks from Dakka, when I'd actively post links to Dakka, but I don't. I am not trying to get clicks from dakka, I was trying to discuss DF Leviathan vs. GW Knight prices. Because - idiots that mistake their personal biases for facts aside - Dakka is a good place to have discussions. Indeed, I started my blog to have discussions about gaming. If I wanted to earn money, I probably would've started a blog about penis-enlargement or "how-to-get-rich-quick" or some such topic.

Here's some recent clicks

If so, than 76 > 10, right?

And seriously, it might be a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy - your 'online personality' and people clicking on your links from Dakka Dakka.

No, it's the week so far. Sorry. But yeah, it's greater 10. I was surprised myself. I don't check the stats that often.

And where is there a self-fulfilling prophecy, if I don't care about clicks. Or my "online personality". All I care about is, ya know, logic (and a certain aversion to people talking bs).

Well, once again, I was accused of another thing... trying to "earn money" from Dakka via clicks.

Am I not allowed to put the facts straight? Is it not prudent to correct false assumptions?

Why are Dakka-posters allowed to put claims like that out there, but Dakka-posters aren't allowed to refute them?
