Funny you should mention this, If you check the pictures of the decal sheets in WD. you will see they have actualy included the "MORTIS" decals, for Legio Mortis. Now unless GW like to get shot in the face by the Fluff police. Im pritty sure these will be rocking the front lines of a chaos space marine army pretty soon.

I think you are reading a bit much into the Obsidian Knight having 'death' inscribed on his Knight.

So I have not kept up on GW in a long while. With their new scheme, how long after getting the model can we expect actual rules.

Excluding their position on the force org chart, who can take them as allies, who they can take as their allies if you use them as the primary detachment, what you do about a warlord if they are your primary detachment. It also doesn't fully detail the super heavy walker rules, so you need a copy of Escalation to get the most use out of them.

Consumers don't want to know if they can USE a model, they just want the joy of BUYING a model without being hassled by silly things like actually playing a game... that's how the hobby works isn't it?

Very much this. That's about £8 cheaper than the next best price from a reliable retailer.

Oh.

Well, no. On the transfer sheet among the names of several Knight Households, as part of the Heraldry of a Freeblade Knight, is the word 'Mortis' which means 'Death'. There's no specific link to the Legio Mortis there.

Besides, Knight Households aren't a part of Titan Legions, are they? They are usually "linked" to them, but that's it, from what I recall.

I had to google search it to see how it looks, and… no. Just no. It does not look at all like 40k's centurions, but Starcraft's Marauders do.

Has anyone mentioned the fact these look like Cygnar Warjacks? Named after models in Warmachine (granted, we also know the historical value of it) and houses which have very similar names to those in ASOIAF?

Cygnar (133) | 82% painted - Menoth (65) | 92% painted
Mercenaries (52) | 53% painted - Circle Orboros (42) | 92% painted - Minions (20) | 0% painted

Systems I play : Warmachine, Hordes, Star Wars X-Wing, Star Trek Attack Wing, Malifaux & Bolt Action.

Ok, I'll bite.

Yes, it has been asked, and answered, several times. So, to answer your three points :

- Imperial Knights are even older than Warmachine (cf. Epic. That was what, 20 years ago ?)
- They were always named knights
- What ? What next ? Are people also going to accuse them of stealing the colours of early-WWI french uniforms for house Terryn ? (Hey, look, blue with red pants!) oO

Also, the Obsidian Knight is totally a rip-off of Batman. Come on, the Dark Knight.

So what; the design of these models(admittedly updated for a modern aesthetic), the unit names, and house names all existed in GW's Epic system in the early/mid 90's, several years before Privateer Press even existed.

And the P&P is an extra tenner, so it doesn't end up being a deal compared to other retailers.

so does anyone know when we can expect a codex for them I bought the white dwarf but there has to be more to it than that for a model that costs $140.00 I would appreciate some sort of codex even a digital one.

I actually bought my first WdWeekly (digitally) to read about the model. I've essentially phased 40K out of life, not because of anything other than I was losing interest. And I still am, but the Knight release still has a phantom pull. It really is a gorgeous model. If it had a power fist and another option for the ranged weapon arm, I'd get it to squirrel away. Anyways, though, four bucks to see something cool was worth it.

The point...no surprise, but the design of the Knight was heavily overseen by Jes Goodwin. And like 96% of their kits he has a hand in, this turned out well. This may be the most impressive of them, balancing their recent desires for toy-sized monstrosities to take the field, while retaining the detail of the best 28mm figures on a 7-8 inch giant walking robot. Even better, it oozes the aesthetics that long time fans associate with the universe. A really, really exciting model.

I had hoped for a pilot model on the sprue, and maybe some interior details (because stuff like that is cool). Maybe FW will do it, or maybe there will be a second kit down the line.

Gorgeous model, though. All hail Jes.
