Anyone keeping an eye on this?
Anyone got into the Beta?
My main fear is that its going to be very COD-esque with a few titans thrown in. Sure lots of people like COD but its not my cup of tea to be honest (close combat, smallish maps, fast paced, no real vehicles etc.).
The trailers for the Mechs themselves look pretty cool and it seems to have a decent engine (jump packs, high manouverability, fast moving if needed).

I've watched several gameplay videos, and I think it does look very COD-esque. However, I think the jump packs and Titans definitely add to it. Here's a link to about 20 minutes of multiplayer. I think it looks sweeeeeet.
I'll certainly be grabbing this on 360. The game looks epic both visually and mechanically, and to me, the gameplay isn't that COD-esque, thanks to the fast-paced (almost Assassin's Creed-style) free running and the fluidity of mech/infantry transfer (which should make it very unique). If anything, it's a mash-up of Battlefield, AC and the Transformers games. In other words, almost my perfect game.
Oh well, I'm happy to wait. They'll release it at some point I'm sure, and I'll grab it when they do. I'd rather they took time to iron out any bugs before release.

I'll agree with that. I was leaning towards the COD example due to the speed, and the presentation. And the mechs remind me of a scaled down version of Armored Core.
...now, if only they'd release a (new) Mobile Suit Gundam game, where the MS play like the titans. That would be awesome

It's not a question of "any bugs" but rather it's a question of "oh dear god this thing is not working so great we might want to cancel this".

Can you link me to any articles on these major issues? I'm not doubting you, just curious.
To be honest, I'm not fussed about scaled-back graphics or any of the online stuff, so as long as the single-player modes is decent if/ when it's released I'll be happy.
I got in, friggin love it... such a tight and quick game.
A friend of mine got a Beta code for XB1 but he wanted a PC one, and he can't be bothered to contact EA to change it and isn't all that fussed anyways. He is selling his key for 50 bucks if anyone is interested. And if you have a touch of disposable and like shooters, I highly suggest you are interested lol...
Its a game I'd really like to try but the only platforms are Origin and XBone, both of which I refuse to use. Good thing I'm accustomed to missing out @_@
Well after playing a bunch of matches I can say that though the game uses very CoD like mechanics, it offers a lot more variables at any given time, making it way more engaging that a simple kille'em'all. Cautiously optimistic about this one.

COD, speed? When I first played cod(2) I thought it was refreshing to play a slowpaced game.
Honestly all they just seem to show how innovative Fall is with it's new mechanic "jumping off walls" which is totally different that you've seen in older faster better fps's.
Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

I remember doing that in UT2004... that was the only FPS I've ever played all that much (thanks to Assault mode...dang the modders did some awesome work for that game). To this very day in evrey FPS I play I always get the reflexive urge to jump and double tap the directional arrows whenever I'm standing near a wall.

The newer ones are fairly fast paced...well, for me I suppose
Got into the Beta on PC thanks to preordering on Amazon. Haven't got the time to try it out yet, it's probably going to be next week before I have the chance.

They haven't been published issues in articles.
I can't really go into more detail than that. Sorry.
Y'know, I despise FPS comparisons to CoD, it's like people have no frame of reference to anything else when reviewing games. Just because it's fast, has guns, and has people in it doesn't mean it's anything like CoD and in fact, from the videos I've seen it's about CoD-esque as any other FPS.
This game hasn't sold me on a Xbone, but I'm looking forward to it on 360 (sucks that the release date got pushed back). Anyone have any information about the clan/community setup?

Well its made by West and Zampela. People just forget that when they were at the helm CoD was actually good.
The Dark Apostle wrote: Personally the biggest problem is lack of diversity in the game and loadouts, which'll hopefully be fixed come launch with more chasis and weapons
There are 3 chassis that you can get in the full game.
The Atlas, Ogre, and Strider.
The number of weapons(and to an extent skills) for pilots? That's augmented by the "Burn Cards". Right now there are Burn Cards for a LMG styled gun for pilots which will shred infantry into meat fountains and a sniper rifle which fires explosive rounds that can be used for taking down enemy Titans as a pilot.
There's also a very interesting Burn Card that will actually give your entire team(and the Specters/Grunts with you) a pretty permanent tactical cloak while the owner of the Burn Card is still alive.
