Subject: McGibs's Bloody Beasties of Khorne! (Imperial Assault on Page4!)
I've been enjoying my holiday break and got some angry-robot painting done!
Ever since the rules for the FW Termite Drill dropped, I knew I wanted to bash one together. It's like the horrible lovechild of a dreadnought and a rhino. What's not to love?
I took one of the Sector Mechanicus smokestacks as a base, because I liked the size and shape . Bolted on some Robogear Spider legs (such a good source of gribbly legs), and a tyranid Spore mouthpart for something proper chaosy. Just don't ask me which end the passengers "disembark" from.
I also took some shots of my Warpsmith, which I've had sitting around for a while, but now that he's got some nice pointdrops I think he'll make his way into my games more often.
Tau Stealthsuit legs make for good armoured goatmen.

Getting some models done for LVO this weekend!
Berserkers made from WFB beastmen and chaos warriors.
With the new CA pointsdrop for dreads and helbrutes, I had to make a few more of the critters.
Here's a stock brawly Helbrute with melee weapons and double combibolters ( rotor cannon)
And a double chainfist Contemptor lookin for trouble.
I'll be in the Friendly Tourney on Sat/Sun. Should be fun times, I'm bringing all the stompybots! I'll get some army shots before I go, and some battleshots this weekend.

I loved the idea of a big heavy tank to go with my 1950's style Primaris Retromarines, but the kit is so very modern looking I had to bash it up a bit. The dome turret was provided from a Kharadron airship, and I sanded down a lot of the sharp edges on the hull to make it fit my aesthetic a bit better. Lastly, I shuffled around a lot of the weapon system and combined a lot of them into a generic missile pod, because holy cow the repulsor is a dog's breakfast of guns and rockets.
That is an amazing tank , now get back to those beasts .

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units." Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?" Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?" GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!" Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.
That is fantastic , such a brilliant addition to that model.

Played a nice game this weekend with new marines vs new marines!
I lost due to some tactical mistakes (should've moved a unit of intercessors off an objective, and I failed to see some hiding scouts until it was too late), but overall it was pretty close and I had a lot of fun!

Reactor online.
Sensors online.
Weapons online
All systems nominal.
Picked up the Battletech starter a while ago. It's always been a universe I've been super into, but always turned off by the ancient tabletop models. The new stuff's real nice though!

Looks fantastic, is that meant to be a ComStar scheme or just one you liked?
I love Battletech, even if I never get to play it any more. I backed the Clan Invasion Kickstarter, as I am not really an IS kind of guy. Battletech was my first real tabletop wargame, way back when, but we played with the cardboard standees at the time.
"Wir sehen hiermit wieder die Sprache als das Dasein des Geistes." - The Phenomenology of Spirit
Just a scheme I came up with.
I was always into the PC games, so my lore knowledge is pretty shallow. Certainly not enough to pick out notable paintschemes.
Sorry if not. My Battletech profile recognition is mostly based off of MWO, which has some significant changes to the mechs for purposes of making them look actually possible.

It's actually a Wolverine, but 3 of the starter set mechs are "man with gun in one hand, and rocket pod on shoulder" style (including the battlemaster), so totally understandable. It even has the same slab-shoulder pauldrons as the MWO battlemaster.
My knowledge is also mostly from MWO, but these new sculpts are a very nice update on the ancient (mostly horrible) designs. I think they're on par with the MWO redesigns, and probably better for mini's because they're a bit simpler. It's interesting to see both companies takes on the same source material.
I also finished my second mech! One of my old favorites, the Catapult.

Finished the last two stompybots of my first lance! This was an exercise in panel lining, and I'd like to think that my hand got a little steadier as I went along, but I'm really not sure.
I remember, when I was a kid, I found a Rifleman toy in a bargain bin at a Big Lots (one of those big-box stores that sells stock overflow and stuff real cheap). I loved that toy, but managed to lose it somewhere. I didn't even know what Battletech was at the time. Took me over a decade to figure out what the mech was, actually.
