Excellent stuff can't help but feel that the Dreadnaughts need heads though

I really like the use of armor plating from the large creature Chaos kits. Good stuff in here to inspire anyone who is an avid converter.

He started life as a pingpong ball, a lot of greenstuff, and some nostalgia.

Now he floats around the tabletop shooting laserbeams out of his eyes and eating people whole as my counts-as Be'Lakor.

I snagged a whole lot of DV chosen on the cheap, but like everyone on earth, realized that their wargear made them pretty impractical. So I set about converting them to regular riflemen using some spare arms and shoulderpads.
My camera settings also made the metalics look REALLY grainy, but they're fine in person, I swear!

I made some little khornish imps to act as my (not-tzeentch) horrors. They're rapidly becoming my favorite backtroops because if the only psychic power I cast each turn is summoning, I tend to get a free unit every turn. Which is nice.

Also, something a bit bigger.

Everything in here is pretty much awesome, the counts as be'lakor is a masterpiece, the imps look great and I can't wait to see that bipedal lord of skulls daemon engine thing up and running!

As awesome as big boy is - and he is really something! - I still really dig that little skull-faced imp and his glowy rap hand. Pretty inspiring to whip up a bunch of converted 'letters for some purpose other than being 'letters (Again - I've already used them as eyeless, flail-equipped censer bearers )

Bit of down time, but I been busy!

Just got home from the Astro tournament in Toronto this weekend and had a hell of a blast. I came 2nd overall (lost out by a ridiculously tiny amount), and I nabbed best appearance! Not bad for my first tourney!
Here's some shots of my models and board (ones I've posted before in spoilers to save some space). I'll post some game photos later.

Army board. All the blood.

I sub-ed to this thread when I saw the Beholder, such a great model! Great to see you are coming back, love the new models too!

Question, if you are willing to disclose, I know the front face of the beholder is a plate that is from the warshrine; where do the side bits come from?
Thanks McGib! Looks great!

More great stuff! You never fail to present awesome, flavorful conversions. I think my favorite of this new bunch has to be the Imps, though I do love the Hounds as well. Do you mind sharing how you added the Chaos steed heads to the wolves? It almost looks like you just added the top part, but I can't tell. That Knight, however, is an incredible piece. I cannot wait to see it all painted up. The conversions are just phenomenal.

Thanks eery'one!
I got my hands on the khorne half on the AoS starter set, so expect some berzerkery conversions soon (they'll be good eventually, right??)

@Lorax, the side and most of the gribbly bits on the beholder daemon are mostly necron bits from the tomb spider kit, I think. The side half-circle things, and the rear engine part are the thorax.

@Darth Bob, for the hounds I just cut the necks off chaos knight horse-heads (required some resculpting for some of them) and then greenstuffed fur to the necks to blend them in. Some of the heads required some tricky cutting to shave all the neck off, but they all came out without much fuss.

Non painted update with AoS box set!

Zerkers were nice and easy and look pretty badass. Now to just wait until they get decent rules...

Giant banner guy made a pretty cool apostate/chaplain type guy.

Big troll thing had dumb head and hands. So I gave him big gurillia hands with brass knuckles.

And an update on my chaos knight.

Pop vote: Is this "LOOK AT MAH BIG HAT" head better than the old one?
Spoiler:

Honestly? I liked the old head better. The new one's too ornate for a bipedal walker, IMO.

Original ideas and excellent execution! Subscribed!

I also like the old head better; I think it fits the aesthetics of the rest of the model better.

On another note, what is your recipe for your grey flesh tone? It's fantastic! I'm working on a beastman project now and am testing out some different schemes, and would love to try it out!

Keep up the great work!

I get way more excited about these updates than I reasonably should, haha. I too am partial to the old helmet because I personally think that it gives the beast a more no-nonsense, unfeeling expression. That being said, the new version definitely screams "Khorne" in more ways than one.
