From memory, Land raider with death company squad and his Lord (I think he gets the
FNP from him?) Stormraven with assault terminators and dreadnought (the one that gets more attacks the more it kills), then there were those golden boys that barely move when they deep strike and two units of jump pack troop choices.
And yeah, I had 17 guys on the field in a 1750 army, if you don't count the dreadnought as a guy.
It's clearly not an all comers list.
My unholy alliance won the game by a hair (like literally, it came down to a charge that needed 5 inches to connect and the blood angels rolled a 4 for the charge. If he had gotten into contact, he would have destroyed the cultists that held the relic and it would have ended a draw with 3-3) and the only reason we won was because the Stormraven didn't come in until the round where it comes in automatcally (4, is it?) and the blood angels player had some terrible luck for some pretty decisive rolls.
BA also made a very poor choice of taking a thunder hammer strike on his lord because he was the only one in the unit that had a ward save, only to realise the second the dice stopped on a 1 that the S10 would instagib him. That brought his mood down a bit. I did ask him if he was sure he wasn't gonna
LOS! it before he rolled though.
But most importantly, it was an interesting game throughout. There was no point where I thought "alright, this is in the bag."
I also didn't feel that anyone had brought a list made "to win" but rather they were all lists brought to play the game.
There's a lot of whine about the unbalanced lists because everyone is min-maxing armies. When 4 people suddenly all decide not to do that, you can have a really fun game. Of course one army could have easily turned out to be more powerful than the other three without trying, because of the meta that evolves in that specific game, but that didn't happen here. Little luck is needed too, I suppose.
